  1. I believe that the buyout amount does still count toward the salary cap and the luxury tax line, but the savings is direct. So for example, if Hedo stays he gets $12M, but by doing the buyout we only pay him $6M - not only do we save the $6M, but also any applicable luxury tax. With Harrington it is less, as he is due about $6.5M and his buyout is about half of that. I don't believe that we would be in luxury tax territory next season anyway, but saving $9M is still good. If they only buyout one, I would rather see Hedo go, and keep Al.

It was my understanding that because Hedos contract is only partially guaranteed we can release him and only be responsible for the 6mil. If that's the case, then what would be the point of a buyout OR is the buyout the only way we can get rid of a partially guaranteed contract?

  2. I'm not real in the know on this kind of stuff, but I'm guessing the savings is both in roster spots and salary cap relief moving forward. We pay him $6mil and and we don't have that $6mil counting against the cap.

I meant to say sharpest btw. Is that what the difference is, a buyout doesn't count against the cap? If true then I see why the buyout can be important, it gives us more cap space

  3. I'm sorry am I the only one who thinks that Ish is horrible? I mean I don't think he should be getting minutes in the league but maybe that's just me. I would rather get Jimmer(who at this point Sacramento would probably give away) and have him get burn on this team and that's saying a lot because I think he sucks too.

I think he showed flashes of potential with the limited PT he got.

  4. Guys? Can we talk about basketball now rather than this inner-board pissing match? C'mon, sons! Hug it out.

As for Ish, I hope the guy flips a switch/pays attention/does whatever he needs to do. When he played well, it was pretty cool to see, but it seemed like the majority of his albeit limited minutes, he played like he was playing a pickup game at the gym.

I want to think at least part of that was Stan and his lack of patience with younger or undeveloped players. Here's hoping he didn't have a glaring reason for that. Also, now that we're firmly out of contention, don't have any Dwights or JRiches, there's no reason not to play everyone and see what we actually have.

Seemed like to me when Ish was in he tried far too hard because he knew his minutes were limited. Maybe we get a more relax Ish this time around knowing we have people to help him develop properly.

  5. Warning: This is basketball related.. If you don't want to read basketball related material please move on...

I had a wild thought.. Who thinks Chris Paul is dead set on LA? Think there is any chance LA gets the indication he wants to move on and possibly trade him by deadline? Would our 17 mil TE come into play for a scenario like this? Maybe Hedo and or Al's contract and this TE for Chris Paul and build around him?

I think once Howard got traded it cemented him staying in LA. Always thought 12 wanted to play with Cp3 over Deron.

  6. Do you guys think we continue to bottom out by moving Baby AA and Al or are we good outside of PG depth?

IMO gotta keep Afflalo. Fits what Hennie wants here to the T. His 7 mil per isnt bad considering what he brings to your team. Al will be a good trade chip, would be shocked if BBD gets traded. Dude has shown he is our leader.
