I'm not real in the know on this kind of stuff, but I'm guessing the savings is both in roster spots and salary cap relief moving forward. We pay him $6mil and and we don't have that $6mil counting against the cap.
I meant to say sharpest btw. Is that what the difference is, a buyout doesn't count against the cap? If true then I see why the buyout can be important, it gives us more cap space
-
Please excuse me, I'm not the brightest tool in the shed but what would be the point of negotiating a buyout if it doesn't come less then the release rate of 6mil?
-
Thankful for his contributions but glad the end is near. I'm guessing a buyout will run us less then the 6mil rate of outright releasing him?
-
Just all bad right now.

Was really hoping Jameer would play. Want to see him with these young guys.

Man do I miss JJ.

Aren't we all just super excited for Tobias

These losses are getting no easier.

Poor Moe .... The last guy I wanted to see hurt.

can y'all believe this SOB's nerve? what a sorry bag of feces:
Dwight Howard’s in China two weeks after missing his camp in Orlando
Wasn't he contractually obligated to attend?
-
I know a lot of people want Harden here, but how realistic is it? I dont understand what "a fast rebuild" means.

I'm sorry am I the only one who thinks that Ish is horrible? I mean I don't think he should be getting minutes in the league but maybe that's just me. I would rather get Jimmer(who at this point Sacramento would probably give away) and have him get burn on this team and that's saying a lot because I think he sucks too.
I think he showed flashes of potential with the limited PT he got.
-
Guys? Can we talk about basketball now rather than this inner-board pissing match? C'mon, sons! Hug it out.
As for Ish, I hope the guy flips a switch/pays attention/does whatever he needs to do. When he played well, it was pretty cool to see, but it seemed like the majority of his albeit limited minutes, he played like he was playing a pickup game at the gym.
I want to think at least part of that was Stan and his lack of patience with younger or undeveloped players. Here's hoping he didn't have a glaring reason for that. Also, now that we're firmly out of contention, don't have any Dwights or JRiches, there's no reason not to play everyone and see what we actually have.
Seemed like to me when Ish was in he tried far too hard because he knew his minutes were limited. Maybe we get a more relax Ish this time around knowing we have people to help him develop properly.

Warning: This is basketball related.. If you don't want to read basketball related material please move on...
I had a wild thought.. Who thinks Chris Paul is dead set on LA? Think there is any chance LA gets the indication he wants to move on and possibly trade him by deadline? Would our 17 mil TE come into play for a scenario like this? Maybe Hedo and or Al's contract and this TE for Chris Paul and build around him?
I think once Howard got traded it cemented him staying in LA. Always thought 12 wanted to play with Cp3 over Deron.

Wouldn't tweets be a form of contribution? Saying he contributes nothing in one breath then saying his remotely useful tweets in another seems rather a contradiction. No?

So with 16 people under contract and us needing to cut someone who do you see going? Hearing Harper brought up a lot and personally I'd rather see Eyenga cut before Harper. We could also always make another trade but I'm not sure that's likely right now. Thoughts?
-
I have a feeling Eyenga will surprise us. He might have a little breakout season.
I'll PM you.
-
Since the trade is done, what one player are you guys looking forward to seeing play. I wanna see Drew personally.
-
Do you guys think we continue to bottom out by moving Baby AA and Al or are we good outside of PG depth?
IMO gotta keep Afflalo. Fits what Hennie wants here to the T. His 7 mil per isnt bad considering what he brings to your team. Al will be a good trade chip, would be shocked if BBD gets traded. Dude has shown he is our leader.
-
For everyone that's so optimistic, remember that Al Harrington literally has three years and $24M remaining on his contract.
Last 2 years only 50% guaranteed.
-
Houston will still have a good team but they did all that moving and shaking for nothing?
-
Oh boy sounds like this is the real deal guys
-
Why would LA give up both bynum and gasol?? I dont see that happening
Money ... That new CBA will destroy them with a Dwight at 19mil, Gasol at 19mil and Kobe at 30mil.
HEDO TO BE BOUGHT OUT

It was my understanding that because Hedos contract is only partially guaranteed we can release him and only be responsible for the 6mil. If that's the case, then what would be the point of a buyout OR is the buyout the only way we can get rid of a partially guaranteed contract?
