  1. Yea exactly. It was almost like SmithJr was the unanimous pick on here. I'm optimistic and extremely intrigued with Issac but we all know SmithJr probably should have been the pick. It just made so much sense. Very high upside as far as PG's go, filled a major need, can score from day one. All things we really need.

But it is what it is. Again, I like Issac. Let's hope he ends up maximizing his potential. Because like others have said if he ends up just being alright and Smith JR is a star it's gonna hurt for a long time.

Payton must be holding someone hostage. It's like they're scared to upgrade the PG position. Payton wouldn't be an issue if he had scorers around him but we need a scoring PG the way our roster is built.

  2. I just don't understand why we didnt fix a lot of it and go for new young talent that can fill different roles during this off season. We're pretty much the same team as last season.

If Dennis Smith Jr becomes a stud then these idiots should be fired next year. I'm not having patience with incompetence just for the sake of having patience -- not anymore. We learned that lesson from Hennigan.

Firing people every other year isn't going to change anything though. Let's see what Vogel can do in year two. I say we go into season having Mack, Fournier, Ross, Gordon, and Biyombo as our starters and see how it goes. Then after 20 games evaluate it and make a few changes as necessary. That lineup is probably our best chance at having chance to compete every night.

  3. I'm at UNLV watching summer league right now and Dennis Smith looks good. I don't knows who this Mike James kid is but he has talent too. Dragan Bender looks horrible and Chriss needs work too. Right now he reminds me of Derrick Williams. Great athletic ability and a highlight reel but offense needs a lot of work.

  4. Our management is going to look really stupid if Smith continues to kill it in the regular season, Payton continues to suck at shooting, and Isaac becomes only a decent roll player.

I beg to differ, It'll take at least 2-3 years to know if we made the right decision. Smith is more than likely going to have a better rookie season just due to opportunity. Smith is probably going to start day one while Isaac will be more of a 6th or 7th rotation player off the bench. Ross or Fournier will start at the three ahd we know Gordon will start at PF.

  5. Yes, i was very high on those two second round picks. This are the picks you want to use on players you want to develop or young international players.

We currently dont have any young interesting international player playing overseas that we can follow. Philadelphia and Boston have a few good ones.

Does Orlando still have the rights to that Timma guy playing overseas?

  6. I'm going to go nuts if we fill the last two roster spots with summer league talent.

Theres a decent argument that you don't want like 40% of your roster to be developmental guys. But if hunt makes the team, why him and not derrick white? Or ojeleye? Or Bolden? Or bell? Or bacon? Or Bryant? All have shown some good stuff.

The only reason I think he traded those picks for future picks is because he's wanting to include them in some trade down the line. You make a good point about not having 40% of your roster development guys and I believe picks are easier to unload in trade scenarios than guys on your roster who may or may not being showing promise. Teams would rather have the picks so they can choose their own players.

  7. So, Evan Fournier was invited by a french bball show called 'First Team' and he spoke a bit about the Magic and the Free agency:

    On the Magic:

    - He was ranting about the constant changes at the coaching position and is not sure about Frank Vogel (saying, 5 years ago with Hibbert and West, Vogel was displaying good defensive bball, but now that the game has changed (p&r etc.) Vogel, which he consider him still being a good coach, has some problems to adapt.)

    - He apparently hasn't any idea in which direction the new gm/president will go.

    - He's praising Terrence Ross' work ethic, saying that he's not selfish and a good pick-up.

    - Saying that Aaron Gordon never should have start as SF and that Vogel lost a lot of time by trying him out at this position.

    - He is not expecting any big signings nor trades.

    On the Free agency:

    - Was ranting about the trade of Avery Bradley (only defensive 'pitbull' Boston had), which he didn't understand and was expecting the C's to make a push towards beating Lebron.

    - He would have loved to play with George Hill and is questioning, why he landed in Sacramento and not in Orlando.

I can't even be mad at Fournier's comments.

  8. Anyone watch this karnowski guy in summer league? Thoughts?

I think it'd benefit him to shed about 30 lbs and get more muscular so he can be more agile. The skill is there it's just his condition wouldn't help him in today's league. He's slow running up and down the court. He'd be more dominant at 7'0" 270 lbs instead of the 300 lbs he weighs at the moment. He reminds me of that center that was traded from Denver to Portland a bit.

  9. Man, Jazz fans are obliterating Hayward. I thought that fan base might be different. I don't know how they can be so upset, I mean--I do to an extent but it's hard to fault him for leaving. It's Boston. He has his old college coach which based off his letter sounded like a big deal to him. Boston plays in the East. Boston has an absurd amount of assets. Utah was a solid team but they weren't even a top 5 team in the West. Boston is instantly the second best team in the East and if Ainge finally cashes in on some picks they might be able to get another star.

I think fans get an emotional connection with a player after a few years especially when they're you're best player. Some fans are old school and want to know where's the loyalty to the team that gave you a chance in the league.
