  1. Better defense will lead to better offense. We should use this SL and separate Fournier/Vuc tandem

    Biyombo

    Gordon

    Ross

    Fournier

    Payton

    Vuc

    Speights

    Simmons

    Afflalo

    Mack

That's not bad I think if we stand pat our starting lineup will be Vucevic, Gordon, Simmons, Fournier, and Payton. I think this lineup gives you the most balance offense/defense wise.

  2. Yeah I agree. There is no way we've jumped into the top 6. Maybe top 10?

    Top Tier: Celtics/Cavs/Raptors/Wizards

    Middle Tier: Bucks/Heat/Hornets/76ers

    Bottom Tier: Pistons/Hawks/Bulls/Pacers/Knicks/Nets

I think the Magic are in the top part of that Bottom Tier. I think we will be floating around 7-11 most of the year. The Hawks/Knicks/Nets/Pacers are probably going to be in the bottom 4. The Magic/Hornets/76ers/Heat/Pistons are probably going to be battling for those final few playoff spots.

The bad news is that the East is totally depleted of star power and the balance, I dont think has ever been stronger on the West than it is right now.

The good news is that like 3-4 other teams are just now starting their rebuilds and while we may have just made FO changes, we at least have some pieces in place so we aren't starting with nothing.

The bad news is that the team still lacks an identity or center piece to build around and have a bad rep with the rest of the NBA, so free agents don't want come here.

The good news...we aren't the Knicks or Nets. So we have that going for us.

I disagree a bit. I think guaranteed playoffs spots go to the Cavs, Celtics, Wizards, Raptors, and Bucks. I think 6-8 are up for grabs.

  3. Who would you guys rather have; McCollum or Irving? I would take McCollum for two reasons! 1. He has less of a diva attitude to him and I wouldn't see him being as selfish as Kyrie on the court. 2. I think Irving would get back to missing games if he came here cause I think he'd be pushing to hard to shoulder the load. Irving has a history of missing games with nagging injuries.

Let's look who has the upper hand:

    Scoring: Equal

Shooting: Irving: Better three point shooter and would space the floor better

    Defense: McCollum

    Size: Equal

    Health: McCollum

    Age: Irving: 1 year younger

  4. They're doubling down on him to prove a point that they nailed the draft despite the criticism from fans and media.

I'm kidding, I don't think that's really why but it's my Iwundu theory.

Could Iwundu be like another Trevor Ariza in a few years? I know he's not as athletic but he has similar tools in my opinion.

  5. Hmmm...

As a back up, that actually would probably be good for all parties involved.

It should allow them to play fairly similarly with Irving out minus the 3 point shooting.

They'd probably be better off sticking with

Deron Williams at this point. Williams is more reliable and would be there for more games

  6. it's going to be interesting to see which Jonathon Simmons we get.

is it True Shooting % of .390 in 8 games as a starter during the regular season Simmons?

or 15 ppg against golden state in the playoffs Simmons?

I truly believe we get the playoff Simmons. Seems like he's hungry and motivated to show what he can do being a regular starter but I'm unsure if SF or SG is his best fit.

Payton in his eight games do you know what position he started at?
