Report: Isaiah Thomas injury could void Kyrie Irving trade
If this trade gets voided I think teams jump at this opportunity
-
EVERYBODY WAKE UP WE GOT NEWS
Cleveland and Boston engaged in active trade discussions centered on Kyrie Irving and Isaiah Thomas, league sources tell The Vertical.
It's about time we get some news. Brown and Thomas for Kyrie?
-
Where are you seeing this? Isn't he kinda soft?
The owner said it himself. They reported it in Around The Horn today as well
-
It doesn't seem like the Timberwolves owner wants to give Wiggins a max deal. I wonder what it would take for us to get him. Should be less than what it'd take to Kyrie right? Wiggins isn't a great defender but he would provide the scoring we need.
-
Good read thanks for posting.
-
anyone remember how "Christian" he was when he was being sold to us as the #1 pick? I wonder how much that guy is spending on child support payments. Im thinking Travis Henry and Shawn Kemps all time numbers are within reach for him.
Antonio Cromartie as well

Better defense will lead to better offense. We should use this SL and separate Fournier/Vuc tandem
Biyombo
Gordon
Ross
Fournier
Payton
Vuc
Speights
Simmons
Afflalo
Mack
That's not bad I think if we stand pat our starting lineup will be Vucevic, Gordon, Simmons, Fournier, and Payton. I think this lineup gives you the most balance offense/defense wise.
-
I've said that since day one.
A deal starts with one of them.
If so then I probably wouldn't do it. I'd say offer Payton, Fournier, Biyombo, Hezonja, and the Thunder's first rounder we acquired. If they don't take it then move on.
-
we'll never be able to beat a Bledsoe-Jackson trade for kyrie based on the things Cleveland wants.
What about a Payton, Fournier, Vucevic, and draft picks package?
-
Yeah I agree. There is no way we've jumped into the top 6. Maybe top 10?
Top Tier: Celtics/Cavs/Raptors/Wizards
Middle Tier: Bucks/Heat/Hornets/76ers
Bottom Tier: Pistons/Hawks/Bulls/Pacers/Knicks/Nets
I think the Magic are in the top part of that Bottom Tier. I think we will be floating around 7-11 most of the year. The Hawks/Knicks/Nets/Pacers are probably going to be in the bottom 4. The Magic/Hornets/76ers/Heat/Pistons are probably going to be battling for those final few playoff spots.
The bad news is that the East is totally depleted of star power and the balance, I dont think has ever been stronger on the West than it is right now.
The good news is that like 3-4 other teams are just now starting their rebuilds and while we may have just made FO changes, we at least have some pieces in place so we aren't starting with nothing.
The bad news is that the team still lacks an identity or center piece to build around and have a bad rep with the rest of the NBA, so free agents don't want come here.
The good news...we aren't the Knicks or Nets. So we have that going for us.
I disagree a bit. I think guaranteed playoffs spots go to the Cavs, Celtics, Wizards, Raptors, and Bucks. I think 6-8 are up for grabs.

NBA athletes are the worst.
Yep some of the superstars are straight divas
-
So right now we're looking at a depth chart of:
PG: Payton, Mack, Augustin
SG: Fournier, Afflalo
SF: Ross, Simmons, Hezonja, Iwundu
PF: Gordon, Speights, Isaac
C: Vucevic, Biyombo, Birch
This is crazy
-
Who would you guys rather have; McCollum or Irving? I would take McCollum for two reasons! 1. He has less of a diva attitude to him and I wouldn't see him being as selfish as Kyrie on the court. 2. I think Irving would get back to missing games if he came here cause I think he'd be pushing to hard to shoulder the load. Irving has a history of missing games with nagging injuries.
Let's look who has the upper hand:
Scoring: Equal
Shooting: Irving: Better three point shooter and would space the floor better
Defense: McCollum
Size: Equal
Health: McCollum
Age: Irving: 1 year younger
-
That would be a beautiful trade package. I'd even throw in a draft pick if they wanted it.
-
Well.....today is my Birthday so I am looking forward to the Surprise! Kyrie to the Magic news.
Happy birthday boss
-
They're doubling down on him to prove a point that they nailed the draft despite the criticism from fans and media.
I'm kidding, I don't think that's really why but it's my Iwundu theory.
Could Iwundu be like another Trevor Ariza in a few years? I know he's not as athletic but he has similar tools in my opinion.
-
I cried bro! Ok:
Biyombo
Gordon
Fournier
Simmons
Payton
Vuc
Isaac
Hezonja
Ross
Mack
That's actually not that bad. Our bench looks pretty serviceable and will keep us in games now. I'd have Vucevic starting over Biz though.
-
Getting worse players in return is crazy.
And I dont think 75% of the board wants EP out.
@Magicdoc1 I saw your previous post regarding the trade. If they requested Ross over Hezonja and picks would you do it?
Kyrie Irving for Payton, Fournier, and Ross. Think that would be a fair trade for both teams?
-
It's crazy cause we don't know what Cleveland is going to be looking for in the trade. Could it be like the Chris Paul deal where they request half our team or could it be like the George/Cousins trade where they get two solid players and a 1st round pick.
-
no.
One more player should do it right?
-
Do you guys think a top five protected future first, Fournier, and Payton would be enough for Irving?
-
Hmmm...
As a back up, that actually would probably be good for all parties involved.
It should allow them to play fairly similarly with Irving out minus the 3 point shooting.
They'd probably be better off sticking with
Deron Williams at this point. Williams is more reliable and would be there for more games
-
it's going to be interesting to see which Jonathon Simmons we get.
is it True Shooting % of .390 in 8 games as a starter during the regular season Simmons?
or 15 ppg against golden state in the playoffs Simmons?
I truly believe we get the playoff Simmons. Seems like he's hungry and motivated to show what he can do being a regular starter but I'm unsure if SF or SG is his best fit.
Payton in his eight games do you know what position he started at?
-
We can always talk about the best college and pro football teams...
Seminoles and Buccaneers!!!
Buccaneers are going to be nice this year. O.j. Howard and Desean Jackson
