  1. Actually, his return might be even more likely now.

Didn't Griffin and Paul have some dislike with one another?

    Waiting for Boston now.

I don't even think they want Griffin back to a long extension. Suck this year, get a high pick, even if they don't deal Jordan he expires at the end of next season and they'd have 70 + million in cap space to play with with some great free agents available. I'm thinking their plan is to bottom out this year and fast track a rebuild for next year.

  2. how is the Isaac pick about competing this year when he is a pure upside player

He's got a ton of upside, sure, but he's also one of the most ready to contribute players in the draft. If we went Smith or Monk, they may be better down the road, but they'd have a ton of growing pains while they got minutes and usage and we'd lose a bunch of games.

  3. The team doesn't suck. That's the problem. We played really poor lineups. We started Augustin and green. We had a mismatched team and still won 29 games. I can't imagine them being worse especially with an identity developing and Payton and Gordon getting better

True. It's easy to forget how many games our bench lost us last year. The DJ, CJ, Rudez, Green, Biyombo lineups were some of my personal favorites

  4. Agreed, but a washed up Iggy looking for cash after getting his rings is not what we need either.

Yeah, I don't think Iggy is actually leaving GS, he's just gonna make em sweat a bit. I think KD will sign for less so they can afford Iguodala

*Edit: Though the idea of him to Minnesota is really interesting... The T'Wolves could be a pain in the ass next year

  5. Question related to Mario. Why hasn't his handle improved? He doesn't need one coach to work on that, he doesn't need someone to work with him, it is one thing that is 100% within his control.

This is the type of thing that really pisses me off. Shooting percentages aside we should see a deficiency like this improve from year to year a especially from a guard that has the athletic ability to attack and finish. If he doesn't come back with at least that I'm done with him.

Last year really seemed like nerves. It seemed like once he finally got on the court he was overthinking and afraid to make a mistake instead of just letting the game come to him. Once he settled in late in the year he became one of our best passers and, though it's not saying much, was actually was one of our better perimeter defenders too. I know a lot of us, myself included, were frustrated because a supposedly elite shooter couldn't make a damn shot, but I'm just clinging to optimism because he's one of the few pieces we have left that we don't fully know what he is in the NBA yet. I'm just glad we haven't traded him, as his value around the league is incredibly low at the moment and we'd be better off just taking the risk of him turning in to something.

  6. Its weird because if his seasons were flipped we'd be optimistic. So is that recency bias? Or is the last season more valuable in determining who he is?

I'm on the throw last year out and forget about it train. Brand new coaching staff comes with a whole new defensive scheme and Mario spends the summer doing Olympic basketball. He didn't even see the court for half of the season because of it and it killed his confidence. I'd like to see what he does with a full summer under Vogel under his belt with time to learn without games every other day.

  7. He's an ok shooter and people are worried because the rest of our team can't shoot and we have reservations about Isaac's ability to get a bucket when defenders are sagging off our whole team.

I guess my rebuttal to that would be that free agency hasn't even started yet and the offseason literally just got underway. I'll be more judgmental of next year's team when I know who's gonna be on it.
