Olympic Basketball Tournament Mega Thread

Australia has their dream run but we have a history of choking in the first knock out stage. As an Australian I'm real nervous they will stuff up their best chance for a medal. -

I know Bogut's not playing for Australia either. -
If Thon Maker is eligible, what pick does he go?

Debate: Should we welcome Dwight Howard back?

Depends, are you talking about Al Jefferson 3 years ago? Big Al is on a quick decline, his not close to Vucevic at this point. -
Elfro is easily the best but all my friends call it Homeless chic.

Still ****s me less than Marc "I'll tweet ever possible scenario just in case it ends up happening so I can be the one who broke the story first" Stein.

Found it refreshing to find someone that feels the same way I do.

Big man with a 3 point shot sounds like the typical Orlando draft pick. Also wondering if you watched the Gonzaga v BYU game because I was just watched the late night replay of the first half and he was incredible.
-
They beat Memphis the other night.

When has this ever been a thing? There's probably at least 20 all stars that didn't play big minutes in their rookie season.
-
That's not true at all. In fact even if you only follow the magic you'd realise it happened with grant hill and tmac (and almost duncan).
-
That'd be the way to stuff up the rebuild.

Regressed is a bit much, I'm sure you will show me the stats but the difference would probably be nothing more than 1 good month similar to what he had last year after the all star break. His too young to give up on and I don't see the point on getting anyone else if we aren't in contention.

You do realise it is fairly common for players to hit a plateau in their second year?

Lopez and Lillard lol, imagine the pick and roll defense. It'd be worse than the Kyrie and Love combo. -

I disagree. Even if we aren't that good of a team he hasn't really fluffed his draft picks or trades. Just haven't had any luck. -
No point trading for Horford though. Might as well just make a big run at him in the offseason since his a free agent.

GAMETHREAD: Atlanta Hawks @ Orlando Magic - Sunday 6PM

We want the same thing my friend. History just shows us that players can still develop into superstars without playing big minutes in their rookie season. I have no doubt Skiles will play him when his ready. -

Are all your posts going to conclude with playing Mario more? I've already invested too much time into reading them and want to know whether I should give it up now or not. -

The only thing that probably concerns me a little bit is that say 3 of our best players reach their max potential (which I wouldn't think is likely), I'm still not sure we'd have a championship team. With that said there's still free agency and I'm not suggesting we make any trades because our players are still too young to give up on. -
I think you've covered all that needs to be said.

Seen a couple of their games, it is their bench who are bringing them the wins. In particular Jeremy Lamb and Lin, both playing ridiculously well but I'm not sure it is sustainable. -
This was actually funny for once.

I was the same. The year earlier Pierce struggled but it was through no fault of his own as we doubled him literally every time he got the ball, I remember the double was coming as he was bringing the ball up the court. With Garnett in the line up I knew we weren't able to focus that much attention on him and we had only barely won the year before. Pietrus worried me too because he had a freak of a series in 2009 which I didn't think he'd be able to reproduce. I was surprised to hear that Lowe had us pegged as favourites.
