Two more things I forgot in my last post.

Even if Isaac is able to stay with Mitchell/Garland, one of his strenghts is interior def, covering all the weakness of his teammates and moving when is needed the most. If he has to stay outside the arc, that ability is lost. And when we had the super-high lineup at the start of the 4th quarter (with no starters and then with only 1, Suggs), Cleveland had both Mitchell and Garland in, as it was a key moment of the series.

NY last night has played all the starters almost 45 minutes... I don't pretend the same and I know Thibs tend to wear out his players, but we're so young, game 5 was possibly the most important one... IMO, we should have played all the guys that were working, and bench every rotation one that was not helping at all. 6+ minutes without either Banchero/Wagner was madness for me, in every game of the series, but especially in that one.

I agree completely. Mosely is like a youth basketball coach who has to give every player minutes. Lol. Which would be great if the drop off in talent wasn’t as bad as it is. He has not adjusted to playoff basketball well.

Yea my thought process with the comparison to Austin Reaves was that as he went toward more of an on-ball PG role (and, you'll know this better than me but it's my understanding Domask took on some tough defensive assignments too this season) the 3 point %s fell and that in the NBA with much less ball handling responsibility and generally more space you might see the jumper tick back up.

He usually guarded whomever was the best player. So that probably had to do with his percentage. He didn’t get many off the ball spot up 3’s, He also had to defer to Shannon so his opportunities were not consistent. Because Shannon would go off for long stretches.

Random one but I quite like Marcus Domask as an undrafted free agent flier if he's not drafted. Think he'll end up being a better shooter than he showed in college when he moves to an off-ball role, kind of like what happened to Austin Reaves (though obviously id be very surprised if he was as good as Reaves, it's not a player comp just a situation comp). 6'6, plays defense, solid passer.

Yes. Domask is my Illini guy. He has some talent. He was forced to be the point guard this year. He is a smart player with some nice moves and handle. Could be a sleeper.

Making the playoffs and having a good fight has been so good for us. Getting our young studs experience and showing who belongs and where our weaknesses are. Paolo has shown his ceiling is best player in the league, Franz is an all-star, JI and WCJ are menaces in the paint and need to be part of our long term plan. I’ve been harsh on Wendell because of his scoring, but he doesn’t need to score to be effective. He’s a beast down low and he opens up so much space with the screens he sets. Suggs’ next level of growth needs to be playing less like a role player on offense, by that I mean shooting on the road like he does at home. His defense will travel and he’s the heart of this team.

Also shows us some of the bad, mainly in the backcourt. Harris has played great defense, but he can’t hit the broadside of a barn, so he can’t be our long term starting 2. Fultz is succeeding in the bench lineup because the Cavs are actively ignoring him and he still hasn’t even attempted a 3, so his spacing doesn’t work with our team. Cole has been DREADFUL. I’m probably more disappointed in him than anyone else on the team this series. I know we just extended him, but I’d be looking for an out.

The neutral guys are Moe and Joe to me, they are who they are. The highs on offense are fun, but the defense is so so bad from them individually so it’s like riding a rollercoaster when they’re on the floor.

Also another high that needs to be mentioned is Mosely, especially in games 3-5. He’s made adjustments and has found ways to tap in to getting the best out of guys, especially at home. I feel like we’ve already achieved what I hoped to this season, making the playoffs and having a competitive first round series. Winning game 6 and forcing a game 7 would be so much fun, especially to see game 7 Paolo, he’s got that DOG in him and I could see him putting up one for the ages on Sunday if we can get to that point.

When has Joe had offensive highs? He is barely better than Cole at this point. As far as Paolo in game 7 he will definitely gets his chance to shine because he will take the opportunity he is not shy. His passing is his weakness. He is willing sometimes to pass but his vision is not good. I’m still not sure him and Franz are a good pairing. They seem to work better when the other is off the floor. Their games are maybe to similar.

You turn the ball over like that they put you on the bench. Right away. No arguing, no nothing. Missed FTs, we have a special bench for missed FTs. You aren't stealing: right to the bench. You are shooting transition 3s: right to the bench, right away. Driving the too fast: bench. Slow: bench.

You aren't taking the charge on fast breaks, or other drives: you right to the bench. You undershoot the ball? Believe it or not, bench. You overshoot, also bench. Undershoot, overshoot. You force them into a bad shot and you don't box out, believe it or not, bench, right away. We have the best players in the world because of the bench.

All the players would be on the bench. Lol

Also shout out to Mo Wagner.

When we first brought him here I thought he'd just be here for a couple months for us to get a look at him since we were tanking...

Then we drafted his brother and I thought "oh well it's nice we can keep him here to help Franz adjust for a season".

Then during that year he proved he was capable of sticking in the NBA so I thought "oh he's actually an end of the bench calibre big, makes sense to keep him around what with Franz here".

Then that next year he was actually good and I thought "ok maybe he can be a bench scoring big, we've overpaid him this summer but makes sense to keep Franz happy".

Then this year he was great and I thought "he's great for some instant offense off the bench but I still think he'll be unplayable in the playoffs".

Now he's been impactful the playoffs and I'm just glad he's here and we've got him for next year too and I no longer believe we overpaid him.

All along the way he's defied expectations and continued to improve. I don't know if playing with his brother has given him extra comfort or if he just needed the time to develop or what but the fact that we picked this guy up and at the time were his 4th team in 3 seasons it looked like he was heading out of the league but credit to him, to the coaches and to the front office for getting him and sticking with him he's a real NBA player making an impact in a playoff series and we got him for nothing off of the scrap heap.

Maybe your evaluations aren’t as good as you think they are. Lolololol

If AB has performed so well deserving as starting point guard, why has'nt Mosley given him the greenlight as the starter?

Well imo Mosely doesn’t really know what he’s doing? Should go back to being an assistant.  I don’t think AB deserves a starting job right now, but he might be the best alternative to what we have. His length and hustle on D could disrupt their guards and lead to easy buckets. Something this team desperately needs right now.

Lol. It’s now crystal clear that Franz and Paulo need to be surrounded by pure shooters. Not just at the guard position but all over the place.

And a coach who can teach some movement off the ball. Sick of watching one guy dribble with four statues watching.
