Being an old fart in some peoples eyes. I can understand the concerns about his age. But there is no substitute for experience. And he has worked with young guys, of which we have plenty, most of his career. And he has worked with a lot of players in the league I am hopeful if he is chosen, that he is able to teach our guys better basketball fundamentals. And can motivate them to never give up even when the losses build. Something our previous coaches have failed miserably at.

Young Porter bamba is my preferences. All health considered. If porter is the pick then say your goodbyes to ag. Which might not be a bad thing or could be dipo 2.0. That’s why I would role with ag and match whatever is offered and get trae or bamba whomever drops to sixth.

Sampson is a great coach and did not destroy Indiana they were 22-4 when he was let go. Pop hired him as a consultant right after that. Then had six years as an assistant in nba. He improved every team he went to. Coached national teams numerous times. Well respected.

And what did that 9th ranking get us? I see no ball dominant centers who are the key distributor on their team. This may be a trend, going away from point guard being the major distributor, but will it be sustainable or just a blip in the radar?

I pretty much agree with all of this except Simmons he is great off the bench and possibly Ross if he comes back healthy. They can secure the 2 guard spot. I didn’t know Mack lead the team in assists. WOW. Shows how bad our point guards are.
