That game was in late 04 and his first 30 point game since 2000. That's all need said bout his career with the Magic.

It's all conjecture when it comes to Penny. Injuries killed his career. He carried the magic after shaq left. That playoff series where he had 3 40+ point games was pretty darn impressive!! What could have been hurts for us but even more so for him.

Injuries, personal life, multiple coaches, youth, personnel changes, plus playing the most difficult position in the game. But I know you all dismiss these things. It's not all just black and white.

U have to put his 2 years in context and compared to what? For a player that came from a mid major forced into starting on a terrible team, to say he has been terrible is hyperbole. If he was a veteran pg and had the same numbers then yes that's terrible. But he isn't so it's not.

Payton can get under people's skin on defense. I think his effort will be there this year on a more consistent level. Without skiles scowl on the sidelines will help.

I see the talent. I also see a selfish arrogant player. He thinks is better than he actually is. His footwork is not good and just tries to push people around down low. That will not work in the nba. As for bosh comparison. Not nearly as smooth or polished when bosh was a rookie. -
