So if KD is signing a two (really one) year deal how does that work resigning him for GS? They won't have bird rights.
-
Westbrook about to be the real life Lewis Scott.
-
No, I got it. I'm just saying I'd leave okc if I was him. And if the choice was gs vs Boston why would I choose Boston?
Image more than anything else (which does matter with these guys that are "brands"). Didn't blow a 3-1 lead against Boston. He looks like Steph Curry's lackey now, not good for the brand (which as dumb as it sounds, matters).
-
If you're on a team that keeps trading good players to avoid going into the luxury tax why would you stay there? If you're going to leave, why purposely choose a bad team?
I was kinda hoping he'd go to Boston.
-
You're right, he is free to sing anywhere. But to me, call me old school, but going and joining the enemy because you want to win now (when you were just up 3-1 on said team) is taking the easy road. That's fine, he is free to do that--but he has to deal with the fall out.
"It's not game over for the league yet"
Well, a team that just won 73 games goes from Harrison Barnes as their small forward to Kevin Durant. So, yea, it is over. Unless there is an injury.
Steph and KD do have histories.
-
You have no respect for him legally choosing a new team as a FA but would respect him for pulling the biggest dirtbag move in pro sports history?
Pretty much yeah.
-
Nick Wright has a theory that KD is committing until GS dumps Bogut and whoever and then signs with OKC. He'd had all my respect back if he did that. That would be savage AF lol.
-
Bomani Jones made a really good point on his radio show the other day that KD going to Golden State is a way worse look than when LeBron went to Miami. This is like if LeBron had left Cleveland and gone to Boston. Soft.
-
Durant soft as ***** for real.
-
My opinion, we're going to wait until mid/late July so we can prey on whoever panics in their free agency.
Vucevic's value isn't that high. Just like Kevin love's value took a significant hit.
We can get a role player for him. We can get picks for him. Or we can try to pull off next year's free agency today and go after one of the good expiring point guards.
Doesn't Boston still have a pick from Brooklyn? I'd take that.
-
I know you are but what am I
Tell em Steve Dave!
-
They think they can get Vuc for just Taj Gibson lol.

Miami left its meeting with center Hassan Whiteside without an agreement, sources tell The Vertical. Dallas next up in New York.
Honestly if Miami loses Whiteside but ends up signing Horford that's probably an upgrade.
-
All I want, for the sake of my own entertainment on this board, is for Dwight to come back.
-
Vertical Sources: Joakim Noah and the New York Knicks are in discussions on the framework of a deal in range of four years, $70M-plus.
Hahaha
Dwight is so happy.

Sources: Clippers officials met with Austin Rivers Thursday in Orlando, and Rivers is expected to talk with Knicks, possibly Portland Friday
do you mean that his dad met him in their house?
Lmao
-
yup. both
people don't realize how good of a prospect hezonja was/still is. last year he was a 20 year old leading scorer in a Spanish league finals game. playing against grown men. Former NBA players. There's nothing he cant do on an NBA court. Had he been allowed to play through his mistakes he would have put up great numbers (but we would have lost more).
I don't know why people are sleeping on this draft so much. Usually 4-6 potential All Stars is pretty good, plus there were second round gems in this draft. This is starting to sound a lot like when people tried to say the 09 Draft was garbage, and go look at it now.
-
Exactly! They are not that stupid. I'm sure they said no to that trade. Cousins is >>>> over Ibaka.
Cousins wants out. We know as well as any fan base that you don't get equal value to what you're shipping out (especially when they want out). The question is who is offering Sac something better than that? They'd do it.
You get a replacement big, a lottery pick, and a scorer on the wing who is now your best player. They'd do it.
-
Initially it will be hated. If Ibaka looks good and we see Aaron becoming what we want the hate will subside.
I don't know if it counts as "hate", but I'll always think we could've had more. Nobody can convince me otherwise that Sac says no to Vic, Vuc, and Sabonis for Boogie. Sac is stupid but they're not that stupid.
-
He's attempted over 2000 3s in his career and made 38 percent of them so not too worried about the shot speed.
You don' t bring him in has a starting 2 guard. You make him instant offense off of the bench and you hope he stays healthy with less minutes.
If he would agree to come of the bench he would've been the last two years in New Orleans. Trust me bro I got season tickets to them lol.
-
It's because his offense isn't good enough to cover for his defense. He needs to be at the Dirk/harden/Nash level of offense or else he's just going to be exploited.
I agree even though I do hate giving up on someone because of defense, it's literally the easiest thing to learn. Defense consists of two things: athleticism and effort. If you're in the NBA you have the first part, meaning...
-
This is where we hope the hate goes too far on Eric Gordon and we can sign him to a reasonable contract.
The hate on Eric Gordon is 100% justified. He cant defend, he's small, and his shot release is slower than Byron Leftwitch's throwing motion.
-
He's a "teach the guys how to deal with nba life" guy. We don't really need that anymore
I was just meaning that's an example of the kinda dude you were talking about, not that we needed one.
-
Unless those players are basically coaches already.

This has gotta be the death of the max contract when the new CBA comes around.
