When the league starts thinking about how LeBron would play against Orlando in the next round, Orlando will be a potential champion. Orlando lacks a halo that helped Celtics to become champions. Almost no one talks about a potential Magic-Cavaliers series. Actually no one talks about a potential Celtics-Cavaliers series either. Celtics definitely lost the positive image in the league when they lost Garnet. What they have this year is a very dirty player in Rondo, who can and will do everything to win the game. Pierce has never been a fascinating figure in the league as he too, tries fake shots and takes those annoying free throws. Who has any good feeling about Pierce? If you are not a Celtics fan, you hate or ignore Pierce. Ray Allen has always been a good face for his teams, but he is very inefficient right now. Bottom line is, if Orlando wants to play in the final, we have to make sure that every Nba fan dreams a battle of Orlando vs Lakers. This is the positive thinking that helped Celtics to play in the final and win it last year. Even role players like Powe and Posey played miracles last year, because this was what all people expected from Celtics. They were the good thing that was supposed to happen. This year and the next years, Stern, Nba fans and referees should dream a final that Orlando takes part. We have a superstar that can create this effect.

A trade idea Orlando/Washington
nabeca replied to Penny Hardaway's Ghost's topic in Orlando Magic Forum

I have been watching this guy play this season and his defense and muscle would come in very handy in the playoffs...after the heart surgery and injury I was extremely skeptical of his ability to play again, but he's still out there putting down the hammer and pushing guys around...the only concern is his outbursts on the court and his fighting attitude (which I guess is a concern if you're the guy he wants to fight)...also, I'm on the fence about trading Bogans/Redick...I don't know that the Wiz would pull the trigger, just something to muddle over, strictly conversational... a front court rotation of Dwight/Gortat/Battie/Thomas could prove formidable come playoff time... also another deal that seems like it might work for Orlando in terms of depth/need, Houston is looking to ship out Luther Head and Chuck Hayes together in a small deal...I wouldnt mind jumping in on a deal like that...Head can get some points off the bench and Hayes is a hustler and darn good FT shooter lol... a trade thread without hidayet? i am totally surprised -
Anybody still wanna trade Turk for a traditional PF?(Update pg.7)

Eliminating defense completely when comparing two players abilities at basketball is eliminating half of the freaking sport. Offensive stats are nice, and they sure do look pretty up there on that stat sheet, but to ignore defensive talent completely just makes you look like a moron. Or, if you want, you can compare AK's offense to Hedo's defense. It'd be more lopsided than last night's Mir/Nogueira fight. AK isn't the offensive player Hedo is, which is somewhat irrelevant since no one was claiming he was. AK is a solid offensive player(like the 3rd or 4th option he is), and an awesome defensive player who can guard 3 positions. It's that "versatility" people on this board love so much, except it's on defense where there aren't stats to measure things all the time(except there are, but I don't feel like explaining defensive win shares and Drtg to you people). And while Shard's contract is ludicrous, it's important that O-dub and everyone else understand this: Burning down Shard's play won't make Hedo's play better, and Shard's bad contract doesn't justify future bad contracts. Osprey, I liked your contract idea, but I'd cut a year off the end. Hedo's contract should end when Shard's does, so if we need to retool after they're done, we can do so all at once. last and this year, i have not seen a game won by kirilenko's defense. but i have seen many games won by hedo's offense. -

We are locking ourselves into a system with no real escape route if it doesn't work or players decline. How would you feel about our team in 2012/13 with Hedo and Turk both being 34 years old making appx 40 million combined? you are missing a point here. the question is, can magic get to final or even win it with hedo? magic just needs another star to replace with bogans, and championship is not that far away. after a championship nobody cares what player will be 34. eventually all human beings age and get 34. -

Does the magic winning help u in life
nabeca replied to Hedo Turkoglu's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
helps me. i am Turkish, and last year i was watching magic just for hedo. but then i realized, i am not watching jazz while memo plays there. so it is not about hedo only. especially this lakers game i was going crazy. i am happy to see that magic wins. it affects my mood. there are not many things that can make you happy. we should appreciate it. -
ESPN Insider Ric Bucher calls the J.J. situation in Orlando "Bizarre"

as far as i see, magic waits for hedo deal. they will try to combo jj and hedo for a player. until hedo's future is decided, jj is not going anywhere -
Carlos in Israel and Euroleague.
nabeca replied to Rafael Umpierre's topic in Around the NBA/Globe Game
is this how you talk about a player that spent years here? btw, maccabi is a top team. euroleague is not that worse than nba. maybe there are not so many talented players, but competition is extreme. and no, jj can not even be in top 20 in europe. even 7 feet players can score threes over there. why do you think mehmet okur is good at them? or hido is so versatile? we laugh at players who can not score from everywhere. and the last thing, some nba players went to greece to play, but they could not manage it!! team play is everything there. -
this game was not so difficult. lakers did not really do anyting special. magic controlled the game, and i m sure, if the name was not lakers, magic would totally blow this team

LOL but we won, GO ORLANDO, GO GORTAT! this is not a place to discuss history, but let me say that; We ruled 3 continents (38 countries) for 500 years, decided who will be your kings, and your only success has been a city defense. It took each and every country in whole Europe to stop us. I do not call this a success for you.

Otis says Magic's 1st round pick "IS NOT" at camp - Dorsey?(Povtak)
nabeca replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Mehmet Okur was drafted in second round #16 (might be 22). We all knew that he deserved better. Normally 2nd round players do not dress a suit, go and handshake with people. Anyways he went there, handshaked, played his basketball and became an all star. So guys, whatever coaches and teams say about a player whether he should be a 2nd round pick, or not get drafted at all, remember that it is the player who decides on what he will become. We can get a surprising player. I say Omer Asik from Turkey can be drafted by Magic. He is not on tha camp, cos his team is in the play offs in turkey. He plays for fenerbahce Ulker. -

Watch the language on the board and pick up a dictionary and don't crack on people from other countries when you can barely speak English. Other than that, this post was great. a story from Turkey. Woman tells her husband a story. She says "prophet Moses was going to sacrifice his son for god, then god sent archangel Michael to prevent this. Michael brought a goat to be sacrificed instead of moses's son.". Husband says, "well, It is not Moses but Abraham, not Michael but Gabriel, and not a goat but a sheep." your post reminded me of this.

no. boozer would sure be great but he would not keep his averages here. Memo takes a big man outside and Boozer enjoys great freedom against one big man defending him. If dwight and boozer plays at the same time boozer will face double defence which he hates to death. Besides I do not really think he will share the ball more often with dwight. He would not like to have less shot attempts. Utah fans are slightly blaming him (besides sloan) for the elimination, but Utah will no way trade him. Actually they are trying to get a third (not Memo or Ak) all star to have a championship. We have "Duncan" and "Parker", but we need a "Ginobili" out there, Utah fans say.

Trading Hedo Could really benefit Orlando. DO IT NOW!
nabeca replied to MAGICFAN4EVA1's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
my questions. -can hedo be given the same guard+playmaker opportunity at any other team? How would their guards would respond to this? Nelson seemed pretty ok with this. -do you believe in carpe diem? I say keep hedo this year despite the fact that he will most probably leave the town next year. get a power forward and aim higher next play offs. With DW+Lewis+hedo+nelson+P.forward this team can be really fun to watch. I really want this. When hedo leaves next year we will be happy for 2009 play offs. Always you plan for future but who guarantees that future team will achieve better than this team. Is not life all about wishing? What if your wish does not come true+ you lose hedo for this dream? I am Turkish a hedo and stan fan. I will not be happy if hedo goes to another team. I do not care if he gets 40 points average there. I want him to stay here and get a 17 5 5 average if he can. I will be truly happy. I will be living at NY Buffalo next year. I want to come to watch Hedo playing for Orlando. -
I'm sorry but I CANNOT STOMACH TO SEE ANOTHER SEASON OF VAN GUNDY
nabeca replied to JSicamore's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I was watching a press conference after play offs. A reporter asked stan how important is that match. He said, "well, next day people will still find food to eat, and noone is going to die because of us losing" he also said "we are all overpaid, not only lewis is." from that conference on, I am all for Stan. I would watch his team even if they lose 100 games straight. :=) -
