  3. give dwight and you get him. not gonna happen
  4. noticed that I like Pietrus. He never shows his fatigue, he is an overachiever. Look at other soo talented guys, and compare them to Pietrus for what they became, and what Pietrus became. If Dwight would improve himself as much as Pietrus, Magic would be high in the sky.
  5. carter got injured right now. I was watching him for the first time this year

The most important year of Vince Carters career

why does everyone have to quote a loooooong post? this is killing the page. quote this: Sanity From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia For other uses, see Sanity (disambiguation). This article only describes one highly specialized aspect of its associated subject. Please help improve this article by adding more general information. (September 2009) This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding reliable references. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. (July 2007) Sanity (san?? t?, from Latin: s?nit?s) refers to the soundness, rationality and reasonableness of the human mind. A person is sane (s?n) if they are rational. In modern society, the terms have become exclusively synonymous with compos mentis (Latin: compos, having mastery of, and mentis, mind), in contrast with non compos mentis, or insane. [edit]Legal status In criminal and mental health law, sanity is a legal term denoting that an individual is of sound mind and therefore can bear legal responsibility for his or her actions. The official legal term is compos mentis. It is generally defined in terms of the absence of insanity (non compos mentis). It is not a medical term, although the opinions of medical experts are often important in making a legal decision as to whether someone is sane or insane. It is also not the same concept as mental illness. One can be acting under profound mental illness and yet be sane, and one can also be ruled insane without an underlying mental illness. Sanity outside of legal definitions has been little explored by science and medicine, as the concentration has been on illness. Dr. P.S. Graven suggested the term "un-sane" to describe a condition that is not exactly insane, but not quite sane either. A theory of sanity was proposed by Alfred Korzybski in his general semantics. He believed that sanity was tied to the structural fit or lack of it between our reactions to the world and what is actually going on in the world. He expressed this notion in a map-territory analogy: "A map is not the territory it represents, but, if correct, it has a similar structure to the territory, which accounts for its usefulness." Given that science continually seeks to adjust its theories structurally to fit the facts, i.e., adjusts its maps to fit the territory, and thus advances more rapidly than any other field, he believed that the key to understanding sanity would be found in the study of the methods of science (and the study of structure as revealed by science). The adoption of a scientific outlook and attitude of continual adjustment by the individual toward his or her assumptions was the way, so he claimed. In other words, there were "factors of sanity to be found in the physico-mathematical methods of science." In his classic book, The Sane Society, published in 1955, psychologist Erich Fromm proposed that, not just individuals, but entire societies "may be lacking in sanity". Fromm argued that one of the most deceptive features of social life involves consensual validation[1]:

    Happy New Years, Everyone

Best wishes from Buffalo, NY, where everything is under snow, and sun never shows up!!

    Wince is hurt again...

I saw the play he got injured. what was he thinking when he jumped 3 feet and tried to land on a foot while his body was flying like a kite? Did not look down at all, he was watching the ball. He should be wiser than that in his thirties. this was a terrible choice

  13. Current Magic players got a taste of how "humane" Magic fans can be. Definitely they will play their hearts out for a fan base that will boo them whenever they leave Buffalo!?. To the topic starter, so what? so you are an i****, that is what it is.
  14. god knows this game should not be lost. Otherwise everybody will hit the panic button, and there will be 10 trade threads for every player. Maybe not for Foyle

    Raptors are 5-7

Let me be his advocate. Guys, i have not come to a top team, by comparing our numbers to Magic's you show that Magic fans have not really matured yet, have they? Get over it, You did not want me to stay here. You chose a 30 something guy over me, and deep inside you know that he won't really be around every game considering his ankles etc. Another thing is, he is not really going to basket every time as you expected, is he? He became a perfect jump shooter, and as days pass he will be more and more tired. He will never be the guy who bangs around. Now that Jameer has gone, you wish I was there. I know I cannot bring the ball to offense very well, but you also know that i could handle the rest once the ball was there. Remember how we eliminated celtics and LeBrons last year? Alston brought the ball, and I took care of creating plays. Oh wait, he is also gone, is not he? About my stats. My stats were not really awesome last year, were they? But still I had big shot after big shot. I will do the same for raptors once we get to playofss. You know, i will!

    Turk exhausted after INTL play

some people here are like children. If a toy is yours, then it is great, if not then it is ****ty. btw, in that picture lying on the floor in agony, if i may remind you, hedo is in magic uniform. to me it seems, when howard leaves, and you know it might happen eventually, he will be called names, people will say how he did not have a footwork, how he could not control his temper and get technicals many times etc etc. so when a player is on team, and the team wins, everything is perfect. in any other case, you are gone. now i can see why "some?" fans booed Nelson in final lakers games. this, if i am not being very harsh now, shows how pathetic this forum actually is. i say pathetic, cos there are many users, but nobody reacts to those turkoflu, h1n1 etc topics. So i guess, people have no problems with some lunatics. and as the saying goes keeping quiet in presence of evil makes you devil. being in the same boat with lunatics does not mean that you are better than them. last year when arroyo was degraded here, i wrote against it in a topic. and i am proud of this. so that writing this piece will not mean coming to the defense of my countryman, Hedo. every pun intended.
  17. I am really done with some people here. In eurobasket games do not go to 100s. They are around 70 point games. So 13 4 3 is good. Hedo basically sits when the team has a big lead. He played 15 min against bulgaria. Hedo tries to sit as much as possible because team has young people who would love to play instead of Hedo. He only plays when he is needed. Gortat, as much as I like him, was owned by a Turkish player called Omer Asik who was drafted by Bulls. You cannot say that Gortat's numbers are better than Hedo's. Just because you bring up such a topic, I had to talk bad about Gortat. Do not prepare such topics anymore, let us enjoy Magic without Hedo.
  18. i live in buffalo/Ny, and there is a cable tv channel that broadcast every nets game. i probably watched like 20 games of nets, and i only once said wow, what a great player vince is. and that was a buzzer beater dunk. i am trying to be really optimistic but that is it. i just hope that vince becomes what he was, again. now dont tell me anything about his stats etc. as all we know stats do not really mean much
  19. I realized that I do not have to support Raptors just because Hedo went there. My team will remain Magic, but I will cheer for Hidayet.

  23. I am worried about Bynum playing good defense on Howard, but boy, Lakers are more scared. If Bynum continues his awkward play, Lakers are in big trouble.
