  1. Interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing it happen, but I don't hate the uni's we have this year either.

Jay-Z concert at Amway last night

Honestly The Roots, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli are the only rap I really listen to. I like a couple of Jay-Z's songs that he had on the Blueprint but other than that I'm not a huge fan.

Hedo #1 international player in NBA

He needs to improve more... I forgot about Parker. he is def better. Dirk can not create his own offense, otherwise they would not have gotten bulldozed in the 1st round by GS. That's y they got Kidd. Bargnani....please. Gasol.... Take Gasol out and put Hedo in... Lakers better. Gasol is doing better only because Bynum not there. Once Bynum returns, Kobe, Odom, Hedo, and Bynum is better than the same with Gasol. Right now only Parker is better because he can take control of games. Manu can take control of games. Hedo can and DOES take control of games. The rest suck when they are the #1 guy in the offense. See Gasol and Memphis. Don't forget that Dirk took Dallas to the finals the year before that. He was the NBA MVP of the regular season last year. IMO Manu, Parker, and Gasol are both ahead of Turk also. Turk is a great player and I love what he's done for us but he needs to keep his play up like this for a couple years before we can call him the best international player in the league. Let him make the all star game first.

    Happy Birthday Turk!!!

Is it just me, or does anyone else know at least 5 or 6 people who's birthday is in March?

    The official UCF thread...

It is really sad to see a player go like this. He was not only a gifted athlete, but he was a National Honors Society student in high school. It is strange because I live on campus at UCF, and it isn't hot at all, if anything it is cold outside. It is really a sad story. RIP. Our baseball team is looking really good right now. Hopefully they can keep up the solid pitching through the season.

Brian Cook has a 3. oh and...Mo Evans scored 51 points in the first half.

    re: Gerald Green

There has to be a reason why Minnesota, a young team looking to rebuild felt he was so expendable.

    Turk For Most Improved? (Schmitz)

I don't think the league will look at Dwight for this award. I think everyone already knew he was gonna be a monster and he hasn't really surprised alot of people with his improvements. Hedo on the other hand came from being a role player on a sub .500 team to being a borderline all star on the 3rd best team in the east. I think you would have to give it to Hedo with Calderon being my second pick.

    Random Thoughts Thread

    I
  24. quote: Originally posted by WPMagic:Alright, I guess it's time for me to give my thoughts. First, it's not fair to hate on the mods. They get paid zero, take time out of their day when they could be base jumping, fighting ninjas, or spending time with their wives. However, instead they police a board that, at times, gets way out of hand. They deal with racist posters, actual spam, THE USE OF CAPS, and redirecting threads to the appropriate forum. That said, Junkie still has the right to ask the mods why they made, or in this case, didn't make a decision. However, that is what PM's are for. Next, I don't like Junkie, or anyone else for that matter, claiming that they are more "passionate" about basketball. Does that give you an excuse for doing whatever you want? I think it's pretty fair to say that anyone who is willing to sign up and post more than a hand full of posts here is more "passionate" than the typical guy. That's like Republicans saying they are more patriotic than Democrats, or vice versa. Idiotic. I've always liked Junkie. He always comes with solid posts that are well thought out and backed up with actual facts and stuff. When I first came around these parts, which was almost a year and a half ago, I figured it out pretty quick that Junkie was in a different age group as me. In fact, he is nearly twice my age. I think that is great. He has a different mind set from me, has different experiences to bring to the table rather it's basketball related or not. That is of tremendous value to this board. That said, I've noticed a separation between perceived age groups and those members each taking the others side. I guess that's the way it is... To continue, Junkie, you owe Jareth an apology for knocking on him for not playing organized sports. That has zero to do with anything. He brings just as much basketball knowledge to this board as anyone else. As Osprey put it, he has played at a higher level than probably anyone else around here, so does that make his opinion more worthy than yours? Hell, I've played at a very high level as well, not quite Osprey heights, but high. Am I more valuable than you? Junkie, I understand where you come from with the JJ fans. I've made the same arguments as you many times to what seems like deaf ears. In fact, I've made many arguments about many topics that seem to have fallen on deaf ears. If you will notice, I've spent less and less posts arguing about things like PT and who's better, etc. It just seems to be a waste of time. We hardly ever seem to make progress. I'd like to think that I'm open minded and can admit when faced with a better argument, but I'm at fault sometimes also. It's not always like that though. For example, Osprey and I go at it frequently about politics in the Off-Topic Forum (Yes, there are other forums here). While others just throw crap against the way, I think it's fair to say that we are willing to admit when one argument is better than another. That seems to be the minority however. JJ fans are not going to budge, nor will those who are critical of him, nor those who want Carlos to start, nor those who want Jameer sent to the D-League. All of that said, I feel I am a member of a community of people who like Magic basketball (Insert JD pep talk!). I've actually met a hand full of people from here at games, at bars, and around town. They are good people. I enjoy spending time on here and talking about the Magic and lolcats, and politics, and Dwight's baby's moma, and Gortat. Osprey, Hutch, Jareth, echo, Junkie, Smack, ST since 90, Marc, dave and the rest: We all feel like **** when the Magic lose. I bet you all are like me, and want to drive off a cliff on the way home after the Magic lose to the Pacers at home. I bet you make a point to watch SportsCenter after a big win, but don't even turn on the TV after a loss. That said, we're 16 games over .500, have the best big man in the game, a new arena on the way, and internet access and a keyboard. Go Magic?!? Fighting Ninjas while base jumping ftw! In all seriousness though, solid post. Hopefully this puts an end to all the drama that has been caused by this thread. Good job WP.
