    Magic in 7 (Post-Season Over, Champions '10-'11)

Four more games! Four more games! Bring it on! Man-Up! Slap those smug looks off the Celtics' faces! Grow some marbles!

    Contract situations?

Read today on US Today that Hedo is not happy in Toronto. He's kicking himself all the way to the bank.

    Next Season

Stan isn't going any where. This is his first year with this line up. I predicted early on that it would take a minimum of a year for this team to click. Stan still has four more games to redeem himself.
  4. Have to wonder had the Bobcats and Hawks taken the Magic to a 6-7 game series each if the Magic wouldn't be playing better. I'm not saying the rest in between series has anything to do with it, but playing a 6-7 game series would have given the Magic a chance to adjust appropriately. It was truly hard to put my finger on anyone problem in last night's game except the Celtics came running out of the chute and never looked back.

Is Dwight Howard a Batman or a Robin?

Not Batman or Robin...more like the Joker!

The 76ers have no outside shooting with the exception of Jason Kapono but he was a huge disappointment this year. If JJ starts with Jason as his back-up it could make a huge difference for that team. The Magic will have to make big changes before next season. JJ isnt going to leave. JJ will end up getting a little better deal than kyle korver did. Korver's contract (numbers may be off by a few hundred thousand due to conflicting sources) $3,630,363 $4,018,182 $4,400,000 $4,956,818 $5,155,115 JJ's Q-offer $3,887,150 so a 4 or 5 year deal starting there... year 2 about $4,200,000 3. $4,500,000 4. $4,900,000 5. $5,300,000 (we'd probably make this a team option or non guaranteed due to the fact he'll be 30) thats about a 5 year 23 million contract I really hope you're right that JJ stays with the Magic but if last year is any indication Otis pulls out the surprises when you least expect it. I actually think that Otis may think twice about resigning Matt Barnes. He hasn't delivered when he really needed to step up. And J-Will I think will have to move on.

  8. This morning I looked in the dictionary to find words to describe how bad this game was but I couldn't find Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis, or Matt Barnes written in there any where.
  9. I have never heard Dwight so serious about a game as he is today. I think they're all locked in. It's all business tonight. Get 'er done guys!

So who's watching the game tonight?

If you care to relive the pain, NBATV is running highlights of the 1st two games starting at 4:00.

    IT'S TIME TO BELIEVE

I now know why the Magic are losing. I jinxed them. The first two rounds I was drinking Jack Daniels. I changed to wine after that! I think they've been losing because I quit drinking Jack Daniels! I believe so much I'm going back to drinking the hard stuff! LOL

  13. So you all are saying that mathmatically Rashard is more valuable than JJ. Try applying the numbers to what Rashard is getting paid to be an All Star, to put up numbers, and be an effective player compared to JJ. I'd say the Magic organization is getting more bang for the buck from JJ's play than Rashard's especially in the last 2 games.

    KEYS TO BEATING BOSTON

One thing the Magic have to remember is that they have their youth on their side. The Celtics starters are OLD with the exception of Rondo! They play OLD and if the Magic would push the ball for the first two quarters they could wear them out. Dwight hasn't been running the floor like he is capable of doing. Jameer needs to push the ball before the Celtics defense gets set for at least the first 24 minutes and finding the open man rather than dribbling. That goes for J-will too. Can't figure that guy out but he's got dribble-itis too. And while Vince is known to do it too, it seems to be infecting him more so lately. His dribbling into the lane with 3 Celtics waiting has me baffled. Matt needs to make those lay-ups. If Jameer and J-will find the open guys, JJ and Pietrus will get more shots than they have been and hopefully drop a few 3's to get into some rhythm. It starts with Jameer. And finally put Bass on Big Baby. It can't hurt. It's probably not that simple but it's just my two cents worth from the living room of my house.

JJ Redick? Or Jameer Nelson and Rashard Lewis? who cares what name gets in a groove. i didn't know jameer or rashard get more points for their shots. So suddenly they're names and not players? You're startin to lose it, man... not even making sense. How do you know JJ was thinking about how to be the hero? Are you a mind reader?
  16. There were enough mistakes to go around the entire team on the floor and the bench. Doesn't apply to just one but they were all responsible for blunders, not stepping up, and poor shots. That game should have never been that close to begin with. If the Magic play with the same intensity coming into the 3rd quarter that game doesn't get that close. They didn't capitalize on the Perkins fouling out or the rest getting into foul trouble. Dwight didn't rebound. Pietrus, who knows what his problem is. Vince taking really bad shots. JJ having a senior moment at the end. Jameer not passing the ball. J-will is incredibly bad. Share the wealth because they all had their mental break downs.

Game 2 (This series is over) 5/18/10

I read in the Sentinel that a reporter ticked off Vince by mentioning a Celtics sweep? Here's a history lesson for some of you younglings. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto was quoted as saying "I fear that all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." The media's question may have been like pouring fuel on kindling. Vince is due for a 40 point game.

    Start Redick

If Stan sees Barnes can't keep up with Allen or maneuver around screens he needs to bring JJ in sooner than later.

    We lost Cowherd

Cowherd also said the Magic would lose to the Bobcats and the Hawks. On another note, anyone hear Jeff VanGundy this morning on Mike and Mike? He was actually tolerable and when asked what Stan should do to adjust for the next game, Jeff actually had some intelligent things to say. If he can be that way today why not during the games?

    Should SVG....

On Mike and Mike in the morning, What Everyone is Talking About, they actually posed the question if JJ will play a bigger role in the next game. But look out, JVG is coming on and I'm sure he'll have words of wisdom for Stan. Yea, right!
  21. It's sad that dishonest people have to ruin your good time. It only takes one or two bad people. I was at the 2nd game of the 1st round and the woman sitting next to me spilled beer all over my purse without any apology. She actually thought it was funny. Ruining someone's possessions is bad enough but to steal a purse is totally unacceptable.
  22. bravlady

    Should SVG....

Stan said it himself in the post-game that the offense ran much smoother with JJ and Vince on the floor together. I think together they calm things down a bit and the players get into a rhythm, something that was missing until the 4th quarter.

Official Game Thread: Magic vs. Leprechauns ECF GM1 5/16

Bottomline is the inside out game that got them through the 2nd round was non-existent. Only a few times did they pass the ball from side to side. When they did they were able to score.
  24. One thing I have to say, Boston fans no matter what sport are born with loyalty in their blood. It goes from generation to generation. They live and breath their loyalty to the teams. That's why Fenway is always sold out, the Bruins were riding high, right along side the Celtics. This is one classy guy! Hang in there!

If Jeff is Jeff, he'll be irritating. When Stan wins the championship, Jeff may not be allowed to eat at the adult's table when he comes to dinner at Stan's.
