I thought about this subject today and did a little bit of research, using the two websites in the links below, thinking about the possible moves that our front office could make this coming off season, mainly in the free agent market. here's what i think: http://www.sportscity.com/nba/2009-nba-free-agents http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine Release:Tyronn Lue, Anthony Johnson,Jeremy Richardson. Resign Marcin Gortat, JJ Redick, Trade Hedo Turkoglu, Tony Battie Free Agents to Target Chris Andersen PF DEN, David Lee PF/C NYK, Johan Petro C/PF DEN, Mehmet Okur PF UTAH, These are just a mere few that i came up with at first. feel free to post your ideas.

oh, my mistake. sorry

quote: according to you, if he is realy realy that bad on defense why in the world whoever he guards dont go 30-40 or 50 point every game? how come we neever seen that... can u explain me that? p.pierce vs hedo was bad, but if u watch bostons games pierce pushes very defender very strong ang gets to line, he is great sf and hard to stop... and last game we had they almost score same points. so thats mean pierce cant defend hedo too? he is not a great defender and nobody expect him to be... thats why u have howard, lee and pietrus on your team.. that's because there s a new thing in basketball called "substitution".

i never said i hoped he was injured badly, all i was saying is that his injury will make things pretty interesting, especially since cleveland is getting Delonte West back sometime soon. I'm actually really anxious to see Orlando @ Cleveland vs. a healthy Cavaliers team.

I'm surprised that no one posted this yet so here. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3923944 and some more good news,we will be playing @ Boston in a couple weeks and KG probably won't be playing. I'm really surprised that it was only as minor as it was. Usually injuries that look like that turn out to be worse. Hopefully, Boston runs into a little skid for the next few weeks U

What Otis is going to do w/ Alston next year?
NittanyBuc replied to Rodriguez's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
i think Otis will keep him here. Alston being here gives us much more depth. I think AJ might be back, but only for a reasonable amount. Lue doesn't have a prayer to be back in a Magic uniform after this season. -
so since using Pierce as an example is "stupid", let's use anyother game. How about when instead of contesting a shot, he stands there like a goon, or when he seems to forget who his man is and runs in slow motion to them as they shoot. if you don't even raise an arm when on D, you are a piss poor defender. so Turkoglu has credit for a few steals the past few games, but don't give him credit for actually playing good D. The only reason he had it was because the player from Charlotte ( i want to say it was Wallace, but i could be wrong) lost control of the ball and probably didn't even notice that Turk was even there. The other times he got steals was because other players played excellent defense and jarred the ball lose. on defense, he is our weak link. any team with a good SF will kill us in the play offs when he's in and matched up on him. i mean, the least he could do is raise his arms and quit flopping everytime he gets touched. as a matter of fact his flopping killed this team last year in the play offs versus Detroit.

i say let Hedo go regardless.

it's about time! Our boy started tonight. It'll be fun to watch him on Wade again on Sunday
-
are you kidding? turk has never played D. look at Boston. Paul Pierce abused Turk. He did make a couple plays tht surprised me tonight but he is THE worst defender on the team.
-
do his swats ack to the 3 points line count? i was wondering that when i was watching the game tonight. if so, he should have quite a few.

quote: Originally posted by MO_EVANS:I have continually become more and more frustrated with his overall play lately. He has been playing terrible defense and does not rotate over on any drives what so ever anymore. He seems to be out of shape when he plays now. I personally think he came into this season out of shape and since the All-Star break he looks like he hasn't touched a **** basketball. I am getting tired of him driving down the lane and just FLAILING his arms like a **** bird waiting to get a foul called instead of going up strong. He seems to be having knee problems and he has numbness in his fingertips (***). Kind of hard to dribble, shoot etc when you can hardly feel your finger tips. Now it has become all mental, watch him after he misses a shot or a free throw. The guy is a headcase now. He is forcing stuff up. Watching him play this season has just really pissed me off. Too many ill-advised shots etc /Rant when did he ever play good defense?

He wouldn't be good for our chemistry, plus, he's old and beginning his decline toward the end of his career. We could do better than Wallace and pay less, too. Sheed has been regarded as one of the best locker room guys around, and a real leader...Sheed brings in toughness, even with a decline in his game, he still brings solid post defense, rebounding, a good sense of the game, a fiery competitor, and he can play the 4 and 5 effectively... full MLE or not, he needs to be considered...the real bump in the road is that he has mentioned retirement several times over the past few seasons... well, to me, getting a T for arguing about a very obvious foul isn't a leader. call it firing up your team, i call it being a cry baby. so while most of you are hoping to get Wallace and he signs elsewhere, me and OnlyIntelPosts will be the ones saying i told you so. come on guys, let's get realistic. if we blow our money on sheed, that means virtually no other free agents, plus probably losing Battie.

give up on sheed, guys. i highly doubt he come to O-Town. we don't need a highly paid guy like sheed. all we need is a big body that can board an play defense. sheed is just too much money. i would take a few decent role players over sheed, and no question over turkoglu. this team doesn't need a high profile player. we have a great, young core as it is, so why go after a player that would drain any other off season moves. personally, i like chris andersen. he is a rugged player who can play D and get the boards. we have no one else that can do that besides howard. gortat just likes to tip the ball instead of getting a solid rebound, but if he works in the off season, he could become that role player. Johan Petro is an option, too. He's a seven footer, which we lack and can get the rebounds. plus, he's young and plays decent defense. look at the stats against us on Feb.11: Minutes: 15 Rebounds: 7 Block: 1 Solid stats for any player coming off of the bench, not to mention he was on Dwight when he was in.

can we call it the "HEDON'T" club instead? it sounds so much more fitting.

Wait.. Jameer had the surgery today.
NittanyBuc replied to duelingdragons's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
very wise decision for Jameer. I'd much rather see him have surgery and be back next year, rather than come back this year and make it worse, and become another Gilbert Arenas and have to sit out this year and next. Good decision Jameer and get well. -

quote: quote:Originally posted by nttnybuc: quote: He needs to continue to work on his defense because that is where he can really shine and help the team. did you happen to watch the game last night @ New Orleans with him matched up against Paul when Paul tried shaking him? How bout when Lee was on Kobe? A rookie holding Kobe under 30 is quite a feat. Lee is the best defender on the team, in my opinion. He is always hustling and giving his opponents a challenge. I just can't wait until next year after he works out in the off season. His defense will be second to none, as well as his athleticism. I also expect him to get a little thicker and stronger, hopefully developing a post up game. Just an stellar pick by the organization in last years draft. Or how about wanting to take on the challenge of guarding Lebron or in the game against the Bobcats forcing Felton to work so hard he fell down twice trying to shake him. Me likey Courtney. yep, that, too. Lee is a great defender and they commented on that last night when Paul tried shaking him and Lee stuck with him.

What's the deal with Rashard lately?
NittanyBuc replied to duelingdragons's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
like any other sharp shooter, Rashard is in a really bad slump. it's like he lost hist touch on the shot. don't worry, he'll find his stroke, hopefully soon. -
i've been saying that for quite a while now.
