Poll: What Should Otis Do With Turk?

quote: Originally posted by ma:I am not a Hedo fanatic, I just like the guy, and I think he does not deserve all this extreme criticism. This is basketball my friend, and not just some neighborhood basketball. It's a business. Exploring trade possibilities regarding Turkoglu at this crucial time is not a knock on his abilities and nothing personal. It's just the right thing to do because whatever management does could decide whether we get the championship or not.

Hedo's bread and butter play. He made it that time but I swear, free throws shot by Dwight blind-folded will have a better percentage of going in than those crazy drives. Feels good when they go in though, and likely to be included in the top "plays" of the week.

JJ and Bogans shooting % for Dec. and Jan.

Bogans is good for tiring out the Kobes and Wades of the league the first three quarters of the game. They'd be too happy exploiting the match up until they finally get burned out in the fourth quarter. JJ and Bogans are basically playing for 3rd string minutes, 3rd stringers aren't put against starters, ergo, not much defense is needed in that regard. All of this is of course, assuming that Pietrus is healthy. Forgot about that. While he's out though, I think it should be Lee then JJ/Bogans. It's a no-brainer.

My point is, compared to market value, we have Hedo for a steal now, and even $10M would be a good salary for his contributions. I'm too lazy to check each and everyone on that list, but most of them didn't just sign minty fresh contracts, did they? They were assured that much at a time in the past when their individual market values were WAY higher. Or as Marc said, they're just lucky to have gotten such terrible contracts. As for the big guys, and don't tell me just because Hedo's 6'10" that he's classified as a big guy, it's common knowledge that teams overpay for big guys since there's a lot less talented big guys than smaller guys.

Did you just compare Turk to Deron and CP3? Turk's our best trading piece, but he's not that valuable.

Hedo's cool. I appreciate the intangibles that he brings to the table. But I don't think he's worth $10m a year from what he's shown so far this season. Okay, to be fair to him, last year was the ONLY year where I'd think he's worth $10m. Right now, playing on a possible contract year, he's just not bringing home the bacon. That's where the argument stems from. From the numerous things that might not end well for the Magic regarding Turkoglu after this season, should we entertain the many scenarios of moving him? It's not a knock on Hedo's ability, but he's our best trading piece right now. What management decides to do with Hedo could either make or break the team's championship chances so it is not a thing to be taken lightly.

Quoting a post out of context can lead to believing something else. Reading the entire post answers many questions like what the person had in mind with their post I read his entire post, thank you very much. What exactly did I take out of context?

He is not consistent, making play for this team. Without Hedo, orlando's offence will not run like now. It is clear. Nelson as in Jameer? He's been a Magic for more than 5 years? I'm lost, he and Dwight entered the league the same year. At most, he is in his 5th year, no where beyond that.

We've played a good chunk of our games so far like we didn't have Hedo at all. Well, the Hedo of old plus a lot more chucking, yes. More defensive attention this year? Okay, if that's the case, why doesn't he just PASS to an open guy instead of going against 1,2,3, and sometimes even 4 defenders and going for his abysmal high off-the-glass "lay ups"? Terrible shot selection is a waste of possession and is usually almost as bad as a TO. If only Hedo would take a step back and play a bit smarter again, then all will be well and good. Still wouldn't address our need for a better front court rotation though.

I think that we should keep him with a reasonable rise in his salary. Two really, really bad nights and about a dozen really bad nights.

    Stock Meeting: Week Ten. EPIC~!

    Stock Plummet?
  13. This definitely puts the NEW in news. Never heard about Dwight being buddies with Bosh and the outlandish probability of the latter going to the Magic come 2010. Never.

JJ sucks. Bogans would've shut down everybody and nobody would've scored on him. Given the chance, Bogans would've knocked down that last shot, he has ice water in his veins. SVG is so stupid for designing a play for that Dukie, Kentucky boys are where it's at.

The Road to the Top of the East(09-10 version)pg. 41

Cavs are underrated a bit here while the Celtics are overrated a bit (by almost everyone, I guess). Them lot needed 7 games to dispatch the Hawks in the first round and another 7 games with a couple of near losses to dispatch the "over-hyped" Cavs to get to the ECF. I'd be more wary of facing Lebron's will than ole McGrumpy Garnett.

After that last Turk drive, I can't see how anyone can argue that Turk's layups aren't lower percentage shots than his jumpers. He just makes me cringe every time he drives. He should take it to the hole strong, kind of like when he took it to Tayshaun in the playoffs.

Good thing nobody on the Heat outside of Wade are hitting their shots. Otherwise, we'd be down by double digits easy. Wade's cooled down too, that just helps us all the more.

Dwight shouldn't even make eye contact much less listen to him. He always does that. Dwight needs to get some of KG's duchbag powers.

I wonder which would be worse; starting Ben Wallace at Small Forward or Rashard Lewis at center Well, we can start Foyle. lol As great as Dwight is though, I still think Lebron's a tad bit better than him. And that trade's just horrible for them. I just played around with the trade machine. Jameer - Peaches - Lebron - Rashard - Warlock That's just ridiculous. Wouldn't care if Hedo walks at the end of the season.
