Al Harrington: "I like the Magic"

Not that Alex Kennedy really says anything here, but it corresponds with the interview posted earlier: http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=16772

Al Harrington: "I like the Magic"

For what it's worth (not much), Alex Kennedy said on Twitter that there is mutual interest between Harrington and the Magic and that they are doing an article for tomorrow morning on it. Man, when I'm waiting for a Hoopsworld article, the summer has really gone to ****.

Redick offered 3 years $20m from bulls

I was just watching this before I heard about JJ's offer sheet last night, and I thought it was hilarious: Not only has JJ put on a ton of muscle since high school (and college), but how ancient is this high school that there is a whole newscast on a ball machine. We used to have one and I'm roughly JJ's age and grew up in Indiana, so it's not like these things were rare back then.

I know Philly has been looking for a shooter for some time and Kapono never really worked out since losing Korver. I'm just thinking if we can swing that deal by including JJ and the Jefferson/Brewer deal for VC, I'd be very satisfied with a SG position of Iggy/Brewer. Not to mention Thad gives us depth at the 3. This was already brought up, but to repeat once Redick signs the offer sheet the Magic cannot sign and trade him. Ah, my bad. Well, I just hope we keep JJ and move Vince then.

Expect Gortat to be traded Tuesday

Why? Because I tried to put together and validate all the rumors? I didn't make these up to just make them up. This is what's floating around and while everybody just shrugs them off I tried to explain why they may work. Chill out bro. There isn't any rumor that suggests we would trade for Iguodala. Also, we don't need Jefferson nor is Iguodala anything close to an upgrade over VC. I beg to differ. Jefferson has been a 20/10 low post presence the last three years and also brings size and 1-2 blocks per game. He is only 25 years old and has a good face up jumper. I'm not really an Iggy fan because I think, like Vince, he takes ill-advised shots and is a high-volume, low-efficiency scorer. However, he is younger than VC, more athletic, and a much much better defender. I think both are upgrades at the 2 and 4.

I think either way Otis matches. The question will be whether he trades VC and puts JJ in starting lineup or now uses JJ as another strong trade chip to a place that would want him: Utah, Chicago, Indiana, Philly. I have to think that with the rumors circulating our chips of JJ, VC, Gortat, Bass, Pietrus and Anderson might be able to net us some combination of Al Jefferson, Corey Brewer, Iguodala and Thaddeus Young, all of whom I would be happy with.

The problem with a sign and trade is that no one on the Bull's roster even makes close to that amount besides Noah and we know that's not happening. Or would you guys rather just name the worst players from 2002?

JJ's twitter from early June just made me sad: Hopin my home will stay with #Orlando_magic. How could I want to leave the NBA Champions of next year? I'll be your Huckleberry.

Ugh, so JJ is going to get paid more than Mike Miller this offseason? LeBron not only screwed us by going to Miami, but now all the teams that lost out are throwing around money like there's no tomorrow.

Not sure where to put this, but is Eddie House getting any interest as a UFA? I always hated the guy with the Celtics but I still think we could use a guy off the bench who can get red hot. My other choices for that role would be Nate Robinson or Al Harrington, but I think both those guys would cost significantly more than House. **** Otis, get us Iggy or Jefferson, because I can't stomach the other suggestions I'm pulling out.

Probably because Otis wasn't stupid enough to actually try to deal for Al Jefferson. You really wouldn't take Jefferson for Vince at this point? I sure would.

Since you have different sources, is that something you hear too? If so, I'm curious if it was flat out rejected or if there is a counter offer in the works.

That would be a doozy of an offseason. Interestingly, something that was in the e-mail he sent to me this morning that I overlooked upon first reading - Bass seems to think he's staying in Orlando. Rev, any idea what the sort of response out of Houston was for that Ariza/Gortat swap? I didn't realize they make the same salary. The more I think about it, picking up Ariza and then Jefferson would be ideal.

Orton also just got his second block in the last few minutes and said "Get that **** outta here" as he blocked it.

Sherron Collins 5-8 from three. Can he be our 3rd pg? Sure looks better than Randle or Stinson.

He is not at all an offensive force, but he can really be solid if he gets a corner three in his arsenal (a la Pietrus or Mo)

So Rev, I thought the TPE hadn't expired until tonight, which would mean technically it would be possible to grab Iggy, Brewer, Jefferson, and Harrington (although a huuuuge stretch). Iggy for Gortat/Pietrus Jefferson/Brewer for VC Harrington for TPE I'd be ecstatic with two of those three. I'm cool with Harrington as long as it's as a bench option.

Orton finally got a dunk. Before that, he was walking up the court behind the point guard. As the trailer on a half court set, he just got the ball at the top of the key and chucked from 20. Ugh...
