Are we one injury away from missing the playoffs?

I would hate to watch this season pass us by without a healthy team on the floor for the majority of the season. Some teams have suffered devistating injuries that have taken them from contenders to missing the playoffs. I think if we can keep 3 of the 4 starters (other than Dwight)healthy we can keep pace and reach the playoffs. I think we need all starters and the bench healthy to get any further. Jameers injury could be huge because as much as I have been a skeptic of Nelson, he has been playing great this season. Hopefully we can get him back in the line up and playing at a high level.

    Our December schedule looks rough...

Do you think we will get to 25 wins or 10 losses first? If we make it through December under 10 losses I think there will be no arguing that we are one of the top teams.

    Trade with the Bulls?

My man, if you are going to come up with crazy trade scenarios at least make them interesting, and in our favor if thats not too much to ask. Although I see where your comming from, I know Nocioni played great against the Magic and it seems like every NBA player puts up their career high against our team, however Nocioni is garbage. Dwight and JJ for Horace/Scottie/Cartwright/BJ...now thats a trade. It also works in the trade machine. And if you want Paxon we can throw in a 2nd round pick.
  10. I knew it wouldn't be very long before the Magic got back to being yet another run of the mill team waiting for bad contracts to expire so that they can get a new GM, new coach, re-load players, and make another run at the second round of the playoffs. This cycle is the one that we Magic fans live in.With a king pin in place(Dwight) the Magic were nearing check mate on the NBA with the gift of Superman. In an attempt to look genius we arrogantley make personell moves that just don't make sense instead of making the wise, analytical yet aggresive moves of all the other great franchises. There is no justiying some of these moves. Bringing a guy in for a max contract to play out of position and be the 3 and many times the 4th option on the floor is just something that I can't wrap my mind around. I know many try to justify it but that must be the Magic fan deep inside of you trying to overcome such a tragic error. Along with a few other bad moves (Jameer) the Magic have missed out on an opportunity to pair Dwight up with one of as many as 6 free agents to be which could undoubtedly take this team to a championship. But now we cheer, we cry, and wait till contracts expire and hope that next time around we can pair up Dwight with a LEGIT max contract player that can bring us back to the Championship. The good news is that Dwight is only getting better, 6 years from now he will be the best player in the NBA and about ready to win the title on his own even if the front office wizards we have here in Orlando fail to get him anything better than the Jameers of the world

We are finally backt to being a bad team with bad contracts where we belong!!!!

As has already been expressed at length, we are only eight games into this horriffic season. Hardly long enough to make such a confident prediction as to the immediate (and appearantly distant) future of our franchise. I agree that Meer's contract is a little on the high side, but I also think that he can be the player we need him to be. So far this season, he has shown flashes of being a fine facilatator. Also, he managed to prove a lot of us wrong during the playoffs (which, I now understand mean nothing-only the Finals matter-which are easy to get to without the first three rounds). Also, like it or not, Jameer happens to be Dwight's best friend. I know this isn't supposed to matter, but look what happened w/ T-Mac soon after Mike Miller was unloaded. Sometimes it's not such a great idea to drill into your young players head the whole, "It's all a buisiness.", mentallity if you hope for some loyalty later down the line. As for Shard, yes, he's had some difficulties these past few games-he's human. But, at the risk of throwing the needle on the broken record that seems to have been skipping these last couple years, many teams were willing to sign Lewis to a similar contract when we snagged him. (Houston has proven to be a pretty saavy scouting team-ie. Artest, Scola, Brooks, etc). As has been questioned, what were your feelings on the matter when everything he put up was falling las year? I guess you'd rather us have held out for Gil Arenas??? I have no doubts that Sweet Lew will be back on track in no time. Until then I'll continue to cheer on my team regardless of any adversity, all our success will be that much sweeter for it. PS. I think you can still get a Hawks jersey cheap if you hurry! GO MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude, get a freaking grip!!!! If we were talking after school basketball leagues then yea the Magic would be doing a great job. "Hey lets pick him he lives down the street from me so we can car pool" "Hey I like that kid he trys hard" Unfortunately this BS doesn't win games. This is the NBA and you are talking about friendships and "Shards only human"????? Thats funny. I am not saying Rashard is not a good man or a good father...I'm just saying he is waaaay overpaid. On a lighter side note....For once we go to our "Superstar" and it paid off lastnight. Perhaps a lot of the blame for his lack of production falls on the coaching and not on Shard. I do think he is a very unique player and could be great.

We are finally backt to being a bad team with bad contracts where we belong!!!!

I don't think No'ma'am is even reading what I am saying. I understand we are only 8 games into this season. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS SEASON!!! You say Rome wasn't built in one day??? Well we took our shot at building it by paying Jameer and Rashard a lot of money and unfortunatley I don't think those two players will help us get to where we want to go. We paid too much for them, we can't move them, can't sign anyone because of them...I just think those are bad moves that will continue to hurt our hunt for a championship for the next few years. and back to No'ma'am. Instead of making an *** out of yourself and getting all fired up, next time read the post and reply with something that applies to the original post and try to make it somewhat intelligent. I have probably been to over 400 Magic games so for you to say I am not a fan is a joke. I just don't like our recent signings...hate me for it.

I am not *****ing about the moves I am simply saying that they were bad moves. If anyone can justify these contracts I would like to hear it. His job is to get the best players on the floor at the best price and win games. He is losing that battle. His job is not doing a good job. a lot of bad fans...i seriously doubt you were whining like a child last year when our 'jump shooting team' was headed to the 2nd rd of the playoffs. Now you're jumping ship after 7 games. Peace out, this team needs fans like you like it needs a sexual harassment suit. Also, calling a team w/ dwight howard on it a jumpshooting team is beyond retarded. Learn the game of basketball, then try and make an intelligent commentary. Intelligent???? Where did I once say anything about jump shooting????? I'm not talking X's and O's. I am talking bad contracts. Plain and simple.

Forget Artest, Lets do Turk for Brad Miller...

I don't know about the finances but this would make a lot more sense for our team. Although I know Otis would like to have a solid defensive backcourt, I think he knows how important it is to control the paint and the boards. Miller has an outside game that would open things up and provide another big body.

Hedo will be the 2009 NBA 6th man of the year...

Hedo will be perfect off the bench for next season. With him and Rashard being able to play more than one position, he can be used in various situations and he should get plenty of playing time. I think this will be good for Turk for a few reasons. First, I don't think Turk is in the best shape, he will be able to save his body for the 4th quarter of games and for the late season and playoffs (Remember he was getting sick every other week a few seasons ago so maybe a cut back on his minutes can prevent all these things) Secondly, using him as a reserve will better the chances of the Magic resigning him after next season because he might not comand "Starter" money. Not only all that, Turk will be instant offense when some of our other shooters come off the floor and he will have free range to look for his shots and take over the game at the offensive end without having to worry about getting out other superstars the ball. I think Turk might enjoy this role.

    Courtney Lee

Listen up children, There is NO question that Courtney Lee was the best 2 guard available. He has a pull up jumper that is untouchable. He also has incredible elevation on his jump shots that is much needed in the NBA (Unlike CDR) And lastly he likes to break guys down off the dribble, either take it to the rack or take the pull up jumper, this will open up a lot of space for all of our 3 point line campers and also for Dwight. Not to mention he can play some D....Great pick, He will be the starter at the beginning of the season because Stan will love this guys Defensive tenancity.

Battie would not put up with that BULLSHT!!!!

The Pistons used and abused the Magic. From the constant *****ing at the refs to just manhandling the Magic in the paint. Tony Battie would have helped dramatically on both fronts. He does not put up with people pushing and shoving and always shows his veteran leadership on the court. I think he would have played a huge role in the playoffs. I wish he would have came in and shut thos Detroit PUSSIES THE **** UP!!!!!

Naa dude I'm not kidding. Battie is a presense in the paint even though he is well beyond his prime. He also knows how to work the refs just like the entire Pistons rosters. The Pistons are pathetic, the cry and ***** after every call and get away with murder. The refs are too ***** to give them a tech for the continous bithcing.
