It sure does, doesn't it? It seems like yesterday that we'd all spend most of our days chatting it up on OrlandoMagicZone about anything from Carlos Arroyo to merking, Chris Curran to the venues vote, Travis Diener to...well, you get the idea. Nah, I think a seperate thread would be great. An "I survived The Magic's Rebuilding Seasons" thread. Have everyone post there who's been around, lock it up, then bring it back out in ten years after we've got banners in the rafters. :shard:

Believe it or not, I side with the Magic on this one. The player has to not only be a legend within the team, but also a legend in the league. I know different teams across different sports may view it differently, but that is my opinion. I don't think we have had a player worthy of a retired jersey to this point. However, I think there will be at least one on our current roster to enjoy the honor.

I was referring to the fact that Hawks-Heat won the fan vote for NBA Fan Night. Maybe the "fan vote" was rigged? :pokewithstick:

I don't think #12 shoots any fewer than 20 free throws. I'd love that. Just don't want Vooch to foul out. Here's a thought for conspiracy theorists out there (of which I am not...just like stirring the pot sometimes. haha.) What if this game was kept from national TV so the league can, once again, provide favorable calls for another of its darlings (ala the Miami game) without drawing attention to itself, thus improving their playoff chances? Just a thought. :pokewithstick:

Here's a thought. What about Earl Clark? He's been starting of late. There's a good chance he'll start tonight. I know the entire Lakers team will be getting booed, but I'd like it if the crowd cheered him. Show #12 that we respect guys who play hard for the team and leave on good terms. Then maybe after the game, we could get another "Alright, thanks man." Thoughts?

I cannot believe JJ didn't get a #1 seed. I mean, I love JJ. Don't get me wrong. But I don't remember anyone being as hated as him. Noah would have my vote as well.

I agree with everything said above. OF COURSE he apologizes the day before his return. OF COURSE. What's sad is that I think his little mind believes that is all it takes and everyone's gonna just forget about it and move on. Puhleeeease. What grinds my gears the MOST about these comments is this line: "I apologize for the way I handled it and the way it was handled in the media." You catch that? He STILL refuses to accept all blame/responsibility. He continues to throw the blame elsewhere. This time, the media. I know we used to call him the Man Child, but he really is a child. I don't mean to make a stupid pun. I'm being serious. The guy just doesn't get it. Can't wait for tomorrow.

My word. This is seriously top-notch stuff. Great job, Dan & Co. I'm also sure that it helps that these rooks are all class guys. Seem like they're easy to work with, fun to be around, and are really committed to the game. I know we say it alot, but the future really is bright.

I hesitate to share this, simply because the maturity of this board is often so low, but I hope you all can take a serious topic like this and not turn it into a joke. Recently, former Magic man Keyon Dooling has opened up about being sexually abused as a child. I understand that he's a former Magic guy, but he's personally one of my favorite Magic role players ever. Some of the guys on this team could really use a heart-to-heart phone call from Bob Vander Weide. We could really use a spark off the bench like we had in James Augustine. Big Baby's been on fire from distance of late. I wish JV would draw up more plays for him, particularly for threes off the dribble. I miss having a really calm presence on the bench, like SVG. JV is just too loud and demonstrative on the sideline for me.

What an awesome night of BASKETBALL. This season is gonna be so fun because of just that...it is focused on BASKETBALL. No more off-the-court drama. No more pressure. No expectations. Our guys just get to play the game they love and we get to watch it without a care in the world. Last night showed that. Here's to the next 81.
