Those are good numbers for a starting big man, and a good big man salary is 8-10mil a year. That's just the way it is. With Darko, if he doesn't prove his worth within these next 20 games or so, it's all going to boil down to how much are the Magic going to be willing to pay for "Potential"? Well that's true of every player. Right now Dwight doesn't score enough to deserve a max contract. Close, but not max. He'll get a max deal though, because we'll believe he has the potential to score even more than he has been lately. Of course what the Magic will be paying for with Darko will at least partly be potential. My point was that Darko's putting up decent big man numbers, and has shown improvement in the last 10-15 games. I like Darko, I think he is worth the investment

    A poll for FUN!

By no means am I trying to start any trouble. This is strickly for laughs! I think we are all grown up here, and we can make fun of ourselves. So with that said, here is my poll question:

  4. Great thread, some of you guys have pretty interesting careers. My name is Rafael (duh!) I'm a production manager/supervisor for a company that manufactures video surveillance equiptment. The company is actually based out of the UK with offices in Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East with our US corporate headquarters in Washington D.C. They actually manufacture the units in Malta. We install the hard drives and software then we perform the final testing and quality assurance here in Florida. The company has only been in Florida since 2005. In a couple of months, we will be responsible for all the distribution for the United States, Canada and South America. That's the reason why I'm rarely on here (hence why most of my posts are one liners), and it's going to get worse for me before it gets better, but hopefully I'll be able to comprise a team that can run efficiently on their own and take some pressure off of myself. But I love the challenge of starting something from the ground level. It's been a pretty interesting ride so far.

    Garnett for Grant?

How many times has Garnett even made it out of the first round of the playoffs? Where has he been the last couple of years? I'll tell you where, "He's been out Fishing, with Barkley and Kenny". Don't get me wrong, he's an outstanding player, but I think he is one of those guys (Barkley, Ewing, Malone) that no matter what, will never get a ring. And if he is caring that "curse", I don't want him anywhere near this team.

    Garnett for Grant?

In light of the KG trade, I just wanted to bring back this thread to read some of your answers back in November. I was just wondering for those who was against this, like I was, what do you think about it now? I was driving home this afternoon and I turned on 740the team. I caught Jerry O'Neill and the Shot Doctor discussing a trade between Orlando and Minnesota for Kevin Garnett involving Grant Hill (and his expiring contract) and Darko. After listening for awhile I realize is was just a hypothetical discussion, but the Shot Doctor says that if that trade becomes available we would be fools not to pull the trigger. I don't know about you guys, but even though Garnett is one of the premier players in the NBA, I wouldn't want to fool around with the chemistry that this team is starting to build. Who knows how many more years Garnett is going to be effective, this team is young. I also think that Grant Hill is a positive influence to this young team. What do you guys think?
