If Paul is our pg i'd like redick starting due to Paul's defensive abilities that can cover redick a bit. If jameer is still our starting point i'd like brewer next to him. he can hit the three and play great defense. I agree with Lewis. Just depends on our existing roster at the time of the decision. I agree with what you say Lewis, except for the last sentence...His career 3pt% is 23.4%, and its going down(he has never shot over 25%)-along with his overall productivity. And if he is a 'great' defender, I wonder why Memphis and Utah jettisoned him. But aside from that, you are spot on. Memphis probably can't afford him since they just overpaid Rudy Gay. Utah moved him to get away from the luxury tax I believe, since they got super lucky with Wes Matthews. Good point about Wes Matthews, although if we are talking about defense...? Does that cover Brewer's departure? Matthews looked pretty good when I watched. They had him guarding Kobe Bryant as an undrafted rookie.

I think he would be a better fit with Paul because Paul would get him the ball when he cut to the basket.

    The "OFFICIAL" Offseason Thread

Brewer is an excellent slasher. If we somehow got Paul through a miracle, he would be a nice fit on the wing cutting to the basket.

No tender for Ronnie Brewer. UFA.
  15. I'd prefer Drew Gooden to Brad Miller. He isn't the sharpest light bulb in the crayon box, but he kills on the boards.

    Nets Release Dooling

Keep in mind this is before last season: quote: 2008-09 season: Despite playing a lot of time off the ball, Dooling was a far more effective distributor with the Nets than he'd been at any other stop. His assist ratio ballooned to 25.9 after three straight season in the teens, and his pure point rating fell in the middle of the pack among point guards. After seven seasons of shielding our eyes when he initiated the offense, he finally looked somewhat natural running the point. Dooling also surprised by shooting far more frequently and accurately from distance than he ever had before. After never eclipsing 36.0 percent with any other team, he hit 42.1 percent of his 3-pointers and took more shots than he had in the three previous seasons combined. Dooling - ESPN (Hollinger)

    Magic's Summer League Roster

Korolev was drafted one spot after Fran Vasquez. So we actually could have made a worse pick.

They were traded there. Not FA.

Here are some Cs other than Biedrins that make more than Gortat (in millions) Tyson Chandler: 12.75 player option Nazr Mohammed: 6.88 DeSagana Diop: 6.47 Erick Dampier: 13.07 Dan Gadzuric: 7.24 Jeff Foster: 6.65 Okafor (as we know) 11.5 Eddy Curry: 11.27 Nick Collison: 6.75 Joel Przybilla: 7.4 Sam Dalembert: 12.2 This list doesnt count better Cs or more talented yet injury prone ones like Oden or Bynum. Also doesn't include Brendan Haywood, who is a FA and will probably have a similar contract to Marcin.

No, you're wrong. magic cant have 20 something players on roster. There wouldn't be, count again. I'm more shocked that that only gets Cleveland 2 more wins.

    NBA Commissioner For A Day...

    - Make New Orleans the Jazz and change Utah's name - Replay for the following: - Out of bounds calls - Charges - Remove defensive 3-seconds - No more double technicals - Add a 7th foul to fouling out - Fix the continuation rule on fouls. It's ridiculous how much leeway some players receive - One I'm on the fence about: Advancing the ball after a timeout.

This thread hit rock bottom, drilled through, and is making it's way through the Earth's core. Pretty soon we will be typing in Chinese and discussing Gortat and Carter for Yao trades.

quote: You add Iggy, and he will pretty much do what Barnes AND Carter did, except he'll be taking one spot on the roster. Perhaps we would move Lewis to SF and have Brand or another PF defend and grab rebounds. We could start Lewis at PF but run stretches of Howard/Haslem/Lewis/Iggy/Nelson.
