Sounds like we should rehire Scott Skiles lol

getting to 50 wins is a big deal with the players they have. None of those guys are veterans (except Redick). Short of signing Lebron James (or drafting him), there is basically no chance we can compete with them next year.

Just feel there are no players to mortgage your future for in this draft. I’m warming up to guys like zhaire Smith, SGA, Sexton who will be available mid to late first round that I feel have the talent to be good players. Draft being the crapshoot it is I think we should leverage our strength (recruiting free agents) by clearing space.

IF we get like the 6th pick i'd like to see us trade down and/or move Biz. Unless given a #1 pick, this team has rarely drafted well. However we have had good success in luring free agents. Clean up the cap sheet and make a run in the 2019 offseason. You can add Kemba and Klay (both in their primes) plus whatever talent we have on the roster. Start making the playoffs and build from there.

I don't remember any time that Josh McRoberts was going to be the #1 pick in the draft. And just to check he got drafted in the 2nd round. So I don't know what you're thinking, nor the purpose of this list.

oh that's cute, how long did it take you to come up with that list? I imagine it took a few minutes since you had to pick and choose to make whatever point you're trying to make. what is your point any way, that not all prospects turn out? because that's groundbreaking stuff, brother!

There's nothing wrong with reading articles from good sources if the alternative is wild speculation. I wanted to know about the injury, outcomes, and types of treatments. Is your question a serious one? why does any athlete sit out for weeks/months after any surgery??? Again, you are just speculating here without actually knowing what the injury is and how it is treated. So what if you know so many people? What does that have to do with this? This is only relevant because MP was arguably the #1 player before his injury, before he even stepped foot on campus. He does have a unique blend of skills and size that you just don't see all the time, and that's worth a gamble. If his back checks out, I'm totally cool with selecting him. He could be our scorer from day one, and he'll fit in perfectly with AG and Isaac because he can play up or down.

Let’s compare a traditional 3/D wing player to a versatile combo forward. Seems about right.

For someone who says he has a clue about back injuries, that is not how Porter Jrs injury works. But okay. I already linked an article how he was playing with it for almost two years...But he was clearly struggling to lace em up

He’s also got 20lbs more than him. But I guess that’s not a crazy difference...

I just find it ironic that you're in every Game Thread rooting for losses to get that high pick, and then say draft Mikal Bridges over Porter lol. Tanking to draft Bridges seems very underwhelming. I'd rather draft Trae Young lol where do you get these comps? his physical profile is nothing like Porter. He's bigger than Porter, and can play up or down. For a guy his size, huge wingpsan, 9'0" standing reach, good ball handling skills, can score from anywhere on the floor, that's not something you see everyday in a 6'10" frame. I'd much rather take a risk on Porter Jr. than Mikal Bridges.

Lol why do you hate Porter so much. Before surgery he was arguably the top player in this draft, guaranteed top 2 pick. He is that good. If he passes the physical and everything checks, he’d be a great selection outside the top 5 picks

Seems like whiteside wants out. If the heat are looking for salary relief they can take Ross and Vuc. We could give whiteside all the touches he wants.

they were "gauging his value" earlier so you have to think all options are on the table.

historically the first pick has netted multiple future first round picks. just recently the celts picked up an extra first rounder for trading the #1 (Tatum-Fultz trade).

In the grand scheme of things? There have been much, much worse injuries to prospects. DSJ tore both his ACLs. Harry Giles had arthroscopic surgeries on both knees. Embiid had foot AND back problems before being drafted. Oden too. Compared to these injuries, no I don't think it's that serious. Yes it's a back injury but it's not a serious back injury in the hierarchy of all back injuries.

No you're just making it up. Martin didn't even know what it was, and he thought it would be a day to day thing. You have absolutely NO IDEA that it was a radiculopathy. Nothing has been reported as such either. In fact: http://www.journalreview.com/sports/national/article_50999c30-b688-58eb-90c6-d278a32504b5.html I'm going to go ahead and make a reasonable conclusion that because he played with it for TWO YEARS that it's not nearly as serious as you want us to believe. I don't really care how many observations you've sat in for the simple fact that you haven't observed Porter Jr.

at least it's not based on making stuff up. A radiculopathy? Did you actually see his medicals?

If we fall in the draft, I think he's the best bet tbh. His injury is being wildly overrated here, and so is his performance in two games. He's a guy who can score and we sorely need that. Except for Simmons, nobody on the squad can get their own shot.

Also I can't believe we are losing to the Suns. Just when you think this team can't get any worse...
  23. Ibn Battuta

    Magic vs suns

he's underrated and he could be had for cheap in the offseason. He's at least more balanced than Vucevic who is all offense and no defense.

That's fine, but what does that have to do with Porter Jr.? The people you are referring to may or may not have had the same injury or degree of injury. A microdiscectomy, from the literature I read, is not a serious condition and the outcomes are very successful. They make a one inch incision and remove the dead nerves. In most cases you don't even need physical therapy to get back to normal.
