Trade him before the deadline. He's leaving. There is no "what if"
-
Jeff Green is an empty stat guy. It's irresponsible to suggest that about other two. One way player... maybe
-
But but... Elite rim protection though
-
Maybe add a few more players here and there. So close to moving an entire roster
-
I don't know who that is
-
We stopped allowing Vuc to Vuc. He is still our biggest offensive threat and need to Feature him nightly.
-
Bingo.
-
yup, it's terrible either way though. I've been watching since 89. we've had a lot of gut wrenching stuff happen in our short history. Loosing Shaq, Grant hill, Dwightmare, Otis.. but id rather do a "slight reset", than be mediocre for the next 5-10 years.
-
I hate the look of the team if we don't trade Ibaka or meeks and they both walk. I thought Brown ( while i don't love him) is a pretty good piece for the future.
-
eh, not sure wins are the point next year if this happens. We'd probably be back at the "acquiring assets" phase again. 2018 would be another early draft year, and then wins would theoretically come after that.
-
just for fun.. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hepezey and get a 2nd rounder( probably the minnesota pick) from boston then flip Amir for another 2nd rounder to a contender that needs a backup PF. and trade jeff green for whatever you can get. Assuming we are drafting mid lottery we should find a starting PG in this summers draft giving us a future of PG X? / payton, SG Fournier/ Hezonja, SF Brown / Gordon / Hezonja, PF Gordon, X? C Biz/ Zimmerman the extra 2nd rders are lotto picks. It's our turn to find a winner. Vuc's market value should go up after Ibaka is gone. Best to trade him around draft time to maximize his return. Let the the next rebuild begin.

Good discussion, I'll be back on later.

does anyone really want evan turner?
-
Or better yet, if you're a GM looking to add for the playoff run, who would you rather trade for: Meeks @6 million for half a season and you can walk away if he doesn't fit or fournier long term at nearly triple the cost per yr?
-
yup and I tied it to return value. So again.. what is a good get?
-
85 million, with a buyout 5th
-
No, I don't expect the magic to get anything good for him, and to say his contract plays no role in that would be wrong. What would you expect in a Fournier trade? What is a reasonable "get"?
-
" With his rookie contract having expired, Fournier received a qualifying offer from the Magic earlier this week, making him a restricted free agent and giving the team the right of first refusal. Given the numbers we’ve seen on many of the early free agent agreements today, it seems possible that Fournier could’ve found a maximum-salary offer sheet – which would have been worth closer to $95MM over four years – from another team. Instead, he’ll take slightly less than that to remain with the Magic on a five-year pact." - hoops rumors last summer. That sounds like near max
-
I don't believe I ever typed that
-
ok... Struggling 2 guard that everyone on this board believes is the the third best option on a decent team. He is in the 1st year of a near max deal. What are we going to get for him if traded? What playoff team looking to add a "piece" trades for that, and gives up anything to be excited for. I personally want to keep Fourier. But for those who want to get rid of him, I just don't see "winning" an Evan Trade.
-
who wants Evans contract? You're not getting much value in return?
-
The Magic are not good. 2017-2018 Meeks is an UFA. He wont resign here next year. Trade him while he has value. He can definitely give a playoff team a boost in bench scoring, or insurance in case their 2 guard goes down. 2017-18 Ibaka is an UFA. Remember when Milsapp chose ATL over Orlando? Well, unless we win 50 games (impossible), Ibaka will do the same. Behind Butler, Serge is probably the best attainable trade option in the market. Good shooter, Good defender, rim protector, and has plenty of big game experience. We have assets that are expiring. Get something for them now, and if you really think they want to be in Orlando, sign them again in the offseason.

100% we make a trade Ibaka Green meeks both CJ's will probably be gone also
