He can be bought out at the end of the season. Same as Hedo. I think the two Richardson's have worse contracts.
-
Talking about Memphis/LAL/Orlando 3-ways, I would do this one... http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6u35o4m
-
If this deal goes through then Billy King has gone from Otis 2.0 to Exec of the Year in the space of 24 hours. For those talking about contracts for Humphries and Lopez, apparently for sign and trades, the contract length needs to be at least 3 years with only the first year needing to be guaranteed. Similar to what we did with Wafer. Knowing that, I'd be ensuring that is what happens with both those guys.
-
Guarantee that will be when he is traded. He'll take out a full page ad in the Sentinel.
-
I like what Golden State has to offer but I want no part of Bogut's, Lee's or Biedrin's contract. Unless they can get a third team to take one of them, I don't see it happening.
-
The 2013 draft has two star players, Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad. Nerlens is compared to Anthony Davis while Shabazz is expected to be one of the best scorers in College.
-
You're absolutely right on the statement part. If he wants all of this to stop, release one. He doesn't need to talk to the media and none of his words can be misconstrued then. Bottom line, Dwight needs to man up and get control of his "circle". Regardless of what his decision is, I think it's best for both parties to move on. It's not doing the Magic or Dwight any favours for this to continue on any longer.
-
Hopefully one of those "several" is Smith to Orlando.
-
I'm pretty sure it's Dan, not Rich, making the trip.
-
Suddenly draft night got a lot less exciting.
-
If by some miracle this Houston deal goes through, I'm praying MKG or Robinson are there at 5. Interestingly, if the Rockets are able to pull this off, they would then have enough money to offer Deron Williams a max contract. Could they be a dark horse in all of this and pull off the Dwight/D-Will combo?
-
If the Magic could come out of the draft with anyone other than Davis, these would be my choices in no particular order: PJ3 - Potential is through the roof. He is saying all the right things about improving his aggressiveness, etc. The Earl Clark comparisons are valid but I think Perry has the smarts, while Earl, not so much. Marshall - Perfect PG for this team, especially if Dwight stays. MKG - Ultimate team guy and would bring a much needed "win at all costs" attitude to this team.
-
I've been suggesting this trade for a while but I don't think Aldridge would be involved. Portland wants to build around LA not trade him and they're looking for a big guy to pair with him. I think picks 6, 11, future picks and a re-signed Batum is more likely.
-
Penn was raving about Meyers Leonard at the combine too, which is scary if he becomes our GM. Leonard screams bust to me.
-
Not to mention that the Dallas trade is illegal. They can't sign Lopez and then trade him to another team unless that is meant to be an in-season trade.
-
No way Portland gives up Aldridge and their lottery picks for Dwight. They might offer the picks for him but they would want to pair Dwight with LA, not replace him.
-
The Thunder are an interesting case, if they lose to the Spurs, do they continue with natural growth or do they go all out for a championship knowing that Dwight won't re-sign? Without a doubt, they would have the best package if they enter the bidding war. I like the Blazers as an option, simply because they have two lottery picks. Batum would be a nice pickup as well.
-
If the Nets win the lottery would you trade Dwight?

I would do it for any of the top 3 picks to be honest. It's time to start again and getting Davis, MKG or Drummond would be a good start. The jewel in rebuilding is the chance to get Shabazz Muhammad or Nerlens Noel next year. That would give us two great building blocks. There could be twin towers or a great inside/out combo or two dominant wings, either way it would be pretty damn exciting. Here's a hypothetical for everyone, if the Nets pick isn't in the top 3 and therefore goes to the Blazers, do you think the Blazers would trade their two lottery picks for a Dwight rental? They're on record as saying that they won't rebuild with Aldridge entering his prime and what better way to capitalise than trading for the best big man in the game? Dwight and Aldridge would complement each other quite well and the Magic can kick off the rebuild with Barnes or PJ3 and Marshall or Lillard. -
I must say, I didn't know what to expect with this GM search, especially with the Foyle and Shaq rumours, but I am very pleased with the candidates being lined up for interviews. Weaver or Pritchard are my preferred options but I think Bower is the leader in the clubhouse because of his ties to Martins. I just hope the Magic select the best candidate, not just someone they're familiar with.

Couldn't agree more! Interestingly, Presti started in San Antonio and has created the same culture with OKC. He has surrounded himself with smart, basketball people who all specialise in different areas of management. If we can re-produce that San Antonio/OKC model here, then we are well on our way with or without Dwight.
-
I really like the idea of Troy Weaver if we're going to rebuild. The guy has done a great job as Sam Presti's right hand man. As has been reported previously, because of his urging, he is a big reason why OKC drafted Westbrook. If OKC win the Championship, he also then brings the "Championship experience" that Martins and the DeVos family are looking for.

I couldn't listen to it, can you expand on that? We all knew HWNSNBU was scum but what made Jarrod say that? Who were we getting back from Detroit?

I'd have a serious think if it was 2 or 3 as well. MKG would be a great get. -
I think that was more on George Shinn than anybody else. I'm not a fan of Bower though and would prefer Pritchard or even Ronzone.
-
I'm seriously hoping Perry Jones is the slider this year. I would love him on the Magic.
