JVG's hate for the Magic is definitley fake
Franchero MVP replied to Franchero MVP's topic in Orlando Magic Forum

That in itself ia an absurd claim, but not nearly as much as taking him off the defensive team. Ah my bad. He must have said something about defense in the sentence before that kind of threw me off. Either way, as you said, still absurd. -

quote: The one thing I do know with absolute certainity is that Jeff did not want to watch any Magic games last year because watching his brother made him too nervous. No one that wanted to see someone fail would have a reaction like that. Agreed. I just wonder what's motivating him to keep making such crazy comments. -

Well you don't have to wonder about what I think of you. lmao well, I wouldn't say that he's jealous. Maybe he's just taking this "distancing from bias" thing a little too far. He's just trying a little too hard. We know you love us JVG -

Many people thought it was because his brother was the coach and he wanted to distance himself from any bias, but this was just so hilarious that it had to be fake. Didn't he also say that the Bobcats would beat us in the first series? lmao. Maybe someone else heard it too? -

During the Celtics and Cavaliers game today, Jeff Van Gundy said that he would take Dwight Howard off the all defensive first team and replace him with Gasol. He has to be faking it. It's just too absurd. I couldn't tell if he was joking. Seriously, he would replace the Defensive Player of the Year for a guy who didn't receive any votes for any defensive team, whether it be first, second, or third. And don't misunderstand my post as an "OMG WE GET NO RESPECTS!!!!" type of post. I'm merely quoting the hilarity of the situation. -
David Stern Boo'ed In Orlando During Announcement of All-Star Game

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/...e=howardgame1-100504 quote: The commish (who attended with his wife and stayed until the final buzzer) got booed by the hometown fans prior to the game when he stood at center court for the announcement that the Magic will play host to the 2012 All-Star Game, the Magic faithful undoubtedly placing the blame for Howard's four games of foul trouble in the first round squarely on Easy Dave's shoulders. I don't know how I feel about this. Although he undoubtedly deserved it (and it made me chuckle), I feel the wrath of Stern coming upon us. This was quite the embarrassment for the little troll. He does not forgive, and does not forget. I feel like Dallas right now. Should we panic? -

David Stern Boo'ed In Orlando During Announcement of All-Star Game

quote: Originally posted by Lewis4thewin:its better we do not compromise our values and face the upcoming wrath that is sure to fall upon us, than to applaud a man we feel is undeserving. Makes sense. Since he was most likely going to try to screw us over in the ECF's anyway, regardless of the boo's or not, we needed to send him and the NBA a message through the media. And when would we ever have a another chance to boo him? I am kind of glad we took advantage of this opportunity. -

From his facebook page: quote: I didn't see much of the game but some of those calls against D. Howard and the Magic were really hard to watch. Also, some of the calls that went against Boston seemed strange. I guess the bottom line was trying to extend those series. Then he comments on a followup question quote: Hi Adam. It's all in the marketing plan. The NBA lost $400,000,000 this year, they will try anything. http://www.facebook.com/pages/...Donaghy/190036783555 Not sure how much credibility he has, but read his facebook page. Kind of interesting. Somewhere in there he claims that the Spurs were the safer bet over the Mavericks because Stern will never allow Mark Cuban to get back to the finals, much less win it.

quote: Originally posted by bigpimpatl:what's funny also, is that every time dwight makes a move, he always has that "AYYYYYYYYYY" yell like he just got fouled, then stares down the refs for a couple seconds, then runs back on defense haha. Or same thing if he makes it. Well it's not only that. He's sometimes fouled while getting roubnds or while trying to put up shots and the refs don't call it. I'd be pissed if I am constantly being held, flagrantly fouled, and fouled during shots and the refs don't call, MEANWHILE they call touchy fouls on me for standing still. -

Some of the fouls were definitely self inflicted. Others were phantom. Either way, he should NOT have fouled out in some of those games. BTW, I posted this link for discussion; I don't necessarily agree with Donaghy but reading his FB page kind of get me thinking. -

Somehow I don't see this relationship with Larry Brown lasting too long. MJ needs to understand what his role is and let Larry do his job. What did MJ do? -
quote: Originally posted by ButterMilkPancakes:I started to watch the game at the end of the 2nd quarter til the end of the game and... officiating was not that bad... if there were bad calls, both teams got it so it was pretty "even". Granted Howard's 5th and 6th did not come in a timely manner, his 6th foul was extremely stupid, and he got away with getting his 5th earlier in the 4th. It's never even, because Dwight means more to our team then some of the players on their team that got "bad calls". If they picked on Gerald Wallace, it would be a different story.
