quote: How does hitting DH on the arm going to injure a guy like that? You're kidding, right? He was hitting him on the hand and wrist. There is very little muscle in those areas, as compared to the arm or forearm. His intent was to break his hand and its VERY obvious to anyone who doesn't have a bias. quote: btw, I don't think anyone thinks DH injured Davis on purpose, but that doesn't mean that Garnett isn't going to strike back anyway. Have you BEEN on the celtics forum recently?

Its all about adjustments. When the stretch-4 isn't working, move him to the SF. Did you see how great that worked in Game 5? And Rashard disappeared ONLY against teams who took away the stretch-4. This is because Boston, like LA last year, were able to single cover Dwight. We have to make adjustments QUICKLY (and not when we're down 0-3) and I am confident it will work.

Dwight Howard Wants Changes to Orlando Roster
Franchero MVP replied to BMP's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Originally posted by ThuglifeJ:Still kinda upset that Vince gets 100% of blame. Ik hes the new guy but theres no way in hell it was his fault we got knocked out in ECF. Take a look around the whole team, think back without your haterade. I think the blame can be distributed pretty fairly. Vince could have done more, he should have done more. but im out if its gonna continue like this. you guys have found your scapegoat Oh give me a break. Dwight and Jameer played fantastic. We know you hate Jameer so it's a given you'd try to blame it on him. Without Jameer, this series would have been a sweep. VC acted like Mo Williams and completely disappeared from the series. We brought him in to make plays and to create his own shot, and he did everything but. -
quote: Also, did anyone else see during that incident between KG and Dwight, the expression on Rashard's face. I don't think I have ever seen so much emotion out of him in my entire life. Yes I did! I honestly love Rashard. I think people are being way too hard on him. Someone said this before, but it's NOT his fault that he's being overpaid and it's NOT his fault he's being made to play out of position. He did EXACTLY what we needed him to do against the bobcats and ATL, which was to play the stretch 4. Unfortunately, the same strategy did not work against the Celtics in the offensive end. It was on SVG to make the proper adjustments and use Bass but he did not. However, he did play very good defense on KG during most of the series.

quote: Howard had no intent to injure Davis. Garnett had intent to injure Dwight. You think that's ok. That marks you as just another ******bag Celtics fan despite your civil tone. If this is what he really thinks (and from what I can tell, he does) then he has no place here among logical discussion.
-
quote: Am I really the only person that realized this?... Celtsfan has no idea what he's talking about. He's a homer who is just trying to justify what KG (you know, the little girl on Boston who plays basketball) tried to do to DH. How is Perkins being ejected Howards fault? Perkins mouthed off to the refs and paid for it. Howard has suffered for it before, so don't act like we don't know how it feels like.

quote: Originally posted by celtsfan:Nice thread. I'm afraid most of you guys don't really know what playoff basketball is like in terms of contact, fouls, taking any advantage possible, and the fact that it's basically warfare and the rules of war apply. Regular season is for entertainment, playoffs are for survival. Boston fans, and the players, are the way they are because of 50+ years of these dogfights with the 76ers and Knicks and Bucks and Pistons and Lakers. In order to win it, it's no holds barred. That's in the DNA and passed down from generation to generation. It's the Red Auerbach way. You can complain about flops and refs, but the Magic got the biggest break of the series in game 5 with the Perkins calls, and got blown out the water completely in games 3 and 6. You were beaten by a superior force, period. Id rather we lose than flop like *****es and act like little girls in order to win. Im proud of the Magic. They played like men but ultimately lost to a bunch of actors.

Should the team keep vince, give him another shot?
Franchero MVP replied to Die Mannschaft's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
No. VC's play does not fit into our system. He doesn't make plays and doesn't get the rim consistently to get easy buckets and to free up our perimeter players. We need a trade ASAP. -
I do. Although I was very angry with him when we lost yesterday, I really convinced myself that we lost because he just wasn't good enough, not because he didn't care or didn't have heart. The VC from 3 years ago may have been the answer; but as of now, he was just not what we needed. Although I do want him to get traded, it's nothing personal. I like him off the court. He seems like a genuinely nice guy who really cares and gives back tremendously to his community. I just feel we can fill his space with someone who can further benefit our team. I also feel bad for the fact that the referees abused him so badly. The guy continuously got hammered in the paint and never received the benefit of the whistle. Very, very sad.

Dwight needs to let this burn into his mind (link)
Franchero MVP replied to Chase's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Its one thing to accidentally hurt someone; it's another to try to intentionally break someone's arm. He's got karma waiting for him. I hope KG gets hit by a bus. I can't stand that *******. -

Part 1 of an Offseason Series: Who should we get- Rudy Gay
Franchero MVP replied to Fultz4thewin's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
This may be childish, but won't it be kind of weird to get buy jersey that says "Gay" on the back? lol Especially if he's good; i'll want one..haha. -
My only gripe with SVG is that he needs to adjust the 4 position when it's not working. If he can do that = championship.

Bass Isn't Sure Of Future With Magic
Franchero MVP replied to Shine88's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: LOL and LOL! Lewis abusing SF's? Really? The guy couldn't take advantage of Anthony Carter when we played Denver a few months ago and he rarely posts up when having a height advantage. Lewis is only effective when Howard is doubled! I'm sure even Hedo could stop Lewis one on one! I didn't mean permanently; I meant that they should move him when the stretch 4 isn't working (like in the boston series). That way he doesn't need Howard to be doubled to be effective; he can just abuse the guy who's defending him. -
Bass Isn't Sure Of Future With Magic

He's got a solid midrange shot that we can use against teams like Boston and LA. Putting him at the PF position will allow Shard to move to the 3, allowing him to abuse whoever is covering him. -
The Orlando Magic team Owes the fans.....
Franchero MVP replied to Die Mannschaft's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
What the hell are you talking about? Dwight did GREAT against Boston. It as mainly VC and Shard that did not show up. However, I don't blame Shard because it was bad coaching that did not allow him to get going. In this series, he needed to be at the 3 to be effective. Don't get me wrong. Stan is a great coach and is what this team needs to keep going strong. It's that he really dropped the ball, in terms of adjustments and rotations, in this series. I do, however, blame VC. He sucked in every single way. -
It depends on the matchups, in my opinion. Against teams like Boston and LA, who can guard Dwight one-on-one, we need to move him to the SF and allow a muscle head like Bass to assume the PF position. It's all about match-ups. Against all other teams, we should keep him at the PF. The system worked for the most part. I normally stick up for Van Gundy, but this is one of the things that pissed me off about his coaching during the Boston series. He didn't consistently use what worked. He kept being stubborn about using a finesse 4 against Boston and it brought us nothing but an ECF loss.

Part 1 of an Offseason Series: Who should we get- Rudy Gay
Franchero MVP replied to Fultz4thewin's topic in Orlando Magic Forum

YOU NEED TO AIM HIGHER THAN JOHNSON AND GAY OBVOIUSLY IF WE WANT TO GET PASSED ECF VINCE WAS NOT ENOUGH. I kind of agree with you about Joe Johnson. The guy is a proven no-show in the playoffs. -

quote: I'm just saying fact is that Gay dishes out 1 or 2 assists a game, that would be his resume before coming to Orlando. Vince dished out 5 assists each game before coming to Orlando Please don't compare Rudy to Vince. One is washed up, the other is up and coming. -

quote: Originally posted by jecMagicMan: quote: Originally posted by LeBrickJames:I like him. I hope he stays. edit: SVG is an idiot for not using him more against Boston. So that he could get torched by KG/Sheed/Davis/insert PF? What? He absolutely OWNED Davis when he covered him. He also did a pretty decent (although not perfect) job on KG. He doesn't have to guard Sheed so that's out of the question. You're missing the fact that the guy BARELY played for us at all during the season. Let the guy play and get used to the system. You can't bench him the whole year and then expect him to be Dwight Howard on the court. All I am saying is that he has ALOT potential. I could see him BEASTING if used in the right manner. SVG fakes it with the PF position, so it's no wonder the guy doesn't feel like he's wanted. SVG really pissed me off this series. We had such a great lineup in Games 4 and 5, and then we decide to CHANGE IT during game 6? The guy has a solid midrange jumper and could be a BEAST on defense if taught correctly by SVG. Move Rashard to the 3 and let him abuse the people who try to guard him. Done and Done. -
