    The Bobcats..

I do not think I said it would be a breeze, but that the series could be 6 or 7 games. I am curious, is there any team that the Magic can beat in the playoffs? Why start a thousand threads complaining about how the Magic suck and that the Magic can not beat any team? Such a Debbiedowner.

This is the best Magic team in a long while with a excellent coach (Larry Brown is great too, but SVG is better imo). Ghost does not seem to think the Magic can beat anyone- the Celtics, Cavs and just about any other team.

    Game Thread: Magic @ Pacers 04/12 7PM

I think Magic will win tonight.

    The Lakers lost!!!!

That idiot Jon Berry would not concede that the Lakers are not playing well, and all the other 3 admitted it. Wonder what Berry has to say now?
  5. One postive is the game was an afternoon game instead of a late night game. It is also possible that the Lakers can lose to the Clippers-it has happened before.
  6. I believe Otis Smith when he said that Carter will step up big time in playoffs. I also think Lewis step up big time. Peaches always seems to play well against the Cavs.

I agree the ref cheating was very bad in that playoff series; however, I think with the Tim Donaghy thing, the NBA would have to be more careful. Also, did you watch the ECF last year? The cheating for the Cavs was so blatant, that even ESPN was talking about. I watched the games, and yes the calls were very bad. James gets all the calls anyway, playoffs or not. Magic still won.

  10. quote: Originally posted by habib11:LOL because its impossible to get away with something that blatant. Come on now. Its not a huge conspiracy theory either, its proven countless times that, especially in the playoffs, refs can easily control the games. And when you have a guy like Dwight who is so easily and subtley screwed by the refs it can be very, very easy to sway the series in one team's favour. Its not as easy as "Ok refs, we wants this team to win, these guys to stay out of the playoffs, this and that to happen etc.." lol obviously not. But through reffing they can give advantages and disadvantages. And I don't think the NBA has anything against the Magic (which completely kills your ridiculous theory), they just want to see Cavs/LBJ in the finals. I do not have a theory. All this complaining about refs does not make the Magic fans look good. Bad reffing goes both ways.
  11. quote: Originally posted by LeBrickJames: quote: The Magic sometimes get way overconfident at times, and imo felt like the Cavs would be easy to bet without James. Look at other games were teams have injuries with their best players gone. This is why I worry more about playing aganist the raptors or the bucks in the first round. I agree with you that they don't show up in a lot of games they feel will be easy. But by watching the game, I noticed more stupidity in the first half then lack of effort. In the second half, we rotated smartly, made smart passes, and took the ball in more, and passed it out to the OPEN-3 when necessary. Also, bad rotations. I'm glad Howard and Gortat locked in down in the end. Best rotation in the whole game in my opinion. Agreed. We also have one great asset- a great coach in SVG-he got the Magic to refocus and take the win. SVG can out coach Mike Brown any day of the week

What?! This doesn't even make sense. I do not buy into the conspiracy theory. If this theory were true, why would Stern allow the Magic to be in the playoffs at all? Why not have your refs effect enough games so that Magic would not win to be in the playoffs. There are bad refs to be sure, but not this conspiracy, I just don't buy it.

It was our chance to take second seed in the whole NBA, by facing a lebron-less cavs. The Magic sometimes get way overconfident at times, and imo felt like the Cavs would be easy to bet without James. 14. Fair enough. You are correct. Everyone fan has the right to be a fan their way.

The Magic haven't lost a series this year in the reg

I don't think that the Cavs beat the Nuggets. This is a great accomplishment for the Magic, and it does not guarantee a championship, but it does help.
  16. quote: Originally posted by LeBrickJames: quote: Originally posted by Magicfan1961:No because I admitted that I was dead wrong about those things before And if we go by trends you're probably still wrong. Being worried is just being realistic. Today was worrisome because we were getting our asses handed to us by a team that wouldn't even make the playoffs if they didn't have Lebron. And this is a team we will be seeing again, but next time, in superstar form. I am not worried about today, because I realize that Magic did not show up for some time. It would be hard to be any team if you fail to show up. Yes, and we will be in superstar form too.
  17. quote: Originally posted by TampaTony:being worried about the Cavs beating us is not being a bandwagon fan or a Cavs fan, all it means is that he's worried about the other team that is as good as us if not better. You don't have to drink the Blue cool-aid to be a magic fan... I can say i'm worried about the Cavs and i've been a fan all my life... i watch Skiles get 30 assists when i was like 6 years old... i was at the game when tracy mcgrady and Bruce Bowen got in a fight... let me say again, i'm worried about the Cavs and the refs... if we played just the cavs i think we win but with the refs its a toss up i believe... No, he is worried about everythiing. Why worry? I just hope for the best. This is not drinking cool aid. Even if we lose, I am sure Magic will give it their best and life does go on.
  18. I dont think we will sweep the East, and to be honest, I would not want that because the Magic's weakest link is that they get to relaxed, as we saw today. Bobcats will probably go to six games. I have serious doubts that the Celtics will make it out of the first round less they play the Bucks. I cannot see Celtics beating the heat. The series with Cavs will probably go to 7 games.
  19. No because I admitted that I was dead wrong about those things before, and I had only been watching basketball for less than a year. I am only now understanding basketball, but I love the Magic, and I am going to support them all the way. I am not worried because like Jack Daniels said I believe.
  20. quote: Originally posted by GhostAnime: quote: You imply that the Magic can't beat the Cavs because of Jamison. Because that's a big match up issue. I recognize the Magic playing well against teams as of late.. but we aren't going to be seeing most of these teams. Beating the Cavs is just going to be a tough time again, and they have obviously improved on their front line. No doubt it will tough to beat the Cavs. If my memory is correct, the only time the Cavs beat the Magic was either Lewis, Carter and Anderson were out. I have faith in the Magic, and Magic really do better against better teams. Also, SVG is 100x times better a coach than Mike Brown. To be honest, I think you are either a bandwagon fan or a Cavs fan.
  21. I find it odd that when the Magic were not playing so well, you were not in the least bit concerned, but how with the exception of the last 2 games Magic have played very well, and you seem unhappy. Magic have defeated very team in the NBA, and no team has swept the Magic. Magic have played better than any other team since the All Star break but you keep saying that the Magic cannot beat the Bobcats or the Celtics. You imply that the Magic can't beat the Cavs because of Jamison.
  22. quote: Originally posted by GhostAnime:Be honest guys. This is our worst win of the season. Admit it. We struggled against Cleveland's bench, Cavs still outrebound the **** out of us, and Jamison is still a magic killer. This is because the magic did not show for a quarter and half. I had my doubts about you and now these doubts are confirmed.
  23. I was concerned over this game, as Magic get way too complacent when a team's best player does not play. Magic forget to show up. We need to not be overconfident. This is why we really need to play a tough team in the first round.
  24. I am suprised that they would play Jamison with his injury. Interesting.
  25. Wow, too many downers on the boards. I did at one time believe all these theories. If the NBA did not want Magic to be in the playoffs, they would have made sure that Magic were a lottery team. We have things alot better this year than last year. I remember last year when TNT and ESPN both said that everyone wants to play the Magic in the playoffs and not Cavs or Boston. They are not saying this now. Alot of those guys are saying that they doubt the Lakers will make it to the finals.
