Think they see Hawkins as a better 3 level scorer. I’d still probably choose Grady over Hawkins though. I think there’s room for Grady to being a better 3 level offensive player than he’s perceived to be.
-
Which tells me they have a guy they are specifically targeting if true which is what I want too. If so, you have to get your guy. Don’t let what we currently have, outside of Paolo, and maybe Franz, stop you from getting him.
-
See I don’t personally like Cam and Jarace for us. Honestly, I hope we either move up or move out. I don’t like our position in this draft as it stands. If Ausar falls I might be ok but Cam, Hendricks, Walker, Black, all seem like bad fits to me.
-
And none of those guys have shown that they are the permanent answer to where a better option, better fit, is out of the question.
-
I didn’t say his clips were bad. Just doesn’t impress me enough to take him with 6th pick.
-
That’s it right there. Watching him you just don’t come away impressed. At least I don’t. I like his hustle I just don’t see anything that wows me. Not offensively anyway. I’m more impressed with Grady Dick footage than Blacks.
-
Maybe I’m not watching the right clips of Black but I’m not super impressed. He seems fundamentally sound but I get EP vibes. Other than Scoot, Amen is the only other I was impressed with. Issue with him is, shooting of course, but he’s playing in what’s basically a rec league.

I think drafting a Pg is quite possible.
-
I would rather trade our picks and player(s) for a all star personally.
-
Not buying this Bilal hype. You dig deeper into it you’ll see he’s really not worth a lottery pick. Late lotto stash is where I’d go with him.
-
You can have too much of anything.
-
I don’t know. Dude is raw raw. I like his driving ability. I like how he can go left and right. I like his ability to throw out counter moves but that three point shot is slow as molasses. I think he’d make an immediate impact defensively. Right now I’d take him at 11 but with so many forwards at our first pick and us needed something completely different...Tough call. This draft for me is so difficult. It’s forward heavy in the area we are drafting and we have our core at that spot.
-
Why are you speaking for his teammates? I haven’t seen anything suggesting this.
-
I’m just not a fan of drafting him at 6. Something about him. Same with Black. Just very limited abilities.
-
That’s why I’m opposed to drafting “shooters”. Get guys who can shoot but other things as well.
-
No. I do like the Reaves possibility but he may be asking a lot.
-
Move up to get Scoot or Miller or trade out of it for an established player.
-
Yeah I mean if we could keep the 11th or Suggs ok...
-
I know. I was just stating my theory on why I don’t think it was that important.
-
Most agents don’t also run their clients through a shooting camp but ok. It’s not secret information. It didn’t need to be. We had the number 1 pick. I’m sure it was shared with many other teams. Agents talk about their clients all the time. I’m just saying that I don’t think it was huge deal we didn’t work him out since we had a lot of info on him past and present.
-
Do agents usually run their clients through shooting drills who also happens to be shooting coach?
-
It’d be naive after gathering info and scouting from our end years before to not listen nor speak to the man who’s working him on the court, running him through shooting drills who’s also his agent and also a previous employee who has a good current relationship with?
-
Why wouldn’t he? He was working with him on the court, not just off the court, and was considered to be the number 1 pick. FO’s speak with agents all the time. Don’t know why you’d be surprised about that possibility over FO drafting him with no workout. Theory isn’t to far stretched IMO.
-
Yup and also worked with him before draft. That was our informant.
-
We didn’t technically but Mike Miller was working with him. I believe that was our work out with Paolo.
