Just a regular Magic fan

He didn't play too bad last year. He was brought in for his leadership and to offer stability. It could be that his knee was acting up and was the reason why he didn't play like he normally does. The same thing could be said about Ross. Please note: I am not saying that I know that this is the reason why he was having a down year. I am just suggesting that it could be. I know if my knee was hurting that I wouldn't be worth a damn. That said, I am always hopeful we can upgrade our roster as the season wears on and during the off-season. It will be interesting to see if we do anything or play Iwundu more minutes. Personally, I wouldn't mind us playing Jefferson more. I want to see what he can do with extended minutes.

So...who is going to get the Chief's minutes? Iwundu, Jefferson, Johnson, other?

That's a little extreme, isn't it? With our salary situation, it probably is not possible to do a wholesale change? Aren't there guys worth watching like Fultz, AG, and JI?

As a comparison, I added the Raptors. It will be interesting to see how these charts change as the season wears on.

Wow! Incredible. People don't trust the officiating as it is. Things like this only exacerbate the problem. I do wonder if they only have one view on the replay. From one angle, it looks like he touches the elbow. However, we can see clearly from the other angles that his hand was 6 inches away. Never-the-less somebody has some explaining to do.

Overall, I think our team had a very good game. Bamba was killin it from the 3 and helped us keep our lead. He was great on offense, inconsistent on defense. Fournier was a beast. Mostly good except when he tried to do too much. Ross showed some life. DJ was just so so. Not sure why when DJ was running the show he would continually pin himself against the sideline. It's not his fault, but now that we have Fultz and we are getting a glimpse of what he can do, I just want DJ to go away. We need another type of backup PG. IMO, I think this was Fultz's best game. His defense was superb and he made some things happen on offense. Still not a big fan of the DJ and Fultz on the court together. Very happy with the win. Nice overall game for the team.

Bamba not starting is on him. I am sure coach Cliff would love too, but Bamba is very inconsistent and hasn't earned the start.

I don't get Bamba. During the 1st. half of the game I wanted him on the court. The 2nd half, I didn't want him in the arena.

Why change who he is? I think it's better to go with a higher percentage shot. Plus, I don't want us to be a team that lives or dies by the three.

Wow! And here I was asking about if we should trade for the guy because he's a physical marvel (silly me). After seeing that, he's totally clueless on offense and defense and fundamentally has a long way to go. No thanks!

I think that the list is a little bit misleading. When they are throwing it to Ross it's his job to shoot. That said, the defense knows it and when they rush at him he has a great opportunity to pass it to a cutter. Of course, or guys would actually have to recognize the opening and move a little bit for that to happen.

So with Drummund what are we looking at a rim protector? His defections are a little better than JI's.

I know he's raw, but I like Mitchell Robinson. I wish there was a reasonable way we could snag him away from the knicks.

I realize I am ignorant, but I am a little surprised that coach Cliff is sticking with his offensive scheme. It seems like a round peg in a square hole kind of thing. I would like to see more movement and cutting towards the basket. We either finish with pullup, a floater, at the rim ( dunk, layup), or hopefully get free-throws. I am not saying we shouldn't shoot some threes, but the refs usually reward teams with high energy and effort.

What about Embid? He scored zero points last night and the guy looks miserable. I wonder if he is unhappy in Philly. Maybe we could capitalize again since they seem to be willing trade partners.

What makes you say that? Rumors or just wishful thinking?

I think deep down AG wants to be the alpha, but so far his inability to consistently win his individual matchups, on offense, is letting him down. I hope we keep AG because I believe with his work ethic the light will eventually come on.

Depending on who it is, I would be okay with a trade, but at the same time, I am okay if we stand pat because the net gain (if there is one) probably won't be all that much. WeltHam gave the big contracts to Vooch and Ross because late last year our team had great team chemistry and made it to the playoffs. This year, it's a little different. Same guys, but the chemistry seems a little off. I know guys are pulling for each other. It just doesn't seem to be at the level we were last year where it was sort of a synergy thing going on. We will probably see it return if we can get on a roll.

I am curious. Considering physical size is slightly smaller for offensive oriented players, and slightly taller and longer for defensive oriented players, which are easier to develop in regards to the other skill? In other words, did we heavily invest in the wrong skill? Should we be looking for scorers and hope we can turn them into defenders?

I don't disagree with you about coach Cliff. The yellow flag is up, and I have concerns. It could be a lack of overall talent, his offensive schemes, or our talent, and his offense are not a good fit. That said, late in the game, our guys looked fatigued because their 3's where way off the mark. He's probably trying to keep them fresh by keeping the bench in, and obviously, that's not working because the starters have to play catch up, and that is taking its toll.

Reading their other rankings, I noticed AG is their #12 small forward. Other than AG and Vooch, none of our guys made the lists. I look for Fultz and JI to make some noise so next time we will hopefully see them. Woot!

Not what I want to see. Maybe we will see some of our backups get some more playing time. It will be nice to see what they can do with extra minutes.

I think I am a reasonable fan. I just want to see some improvement from year to year for each guy. It's not like they don't have all the resources in the world to get better. I am not looking at stats (good or bad) because they can be misleading. Except for Fultz, JI, and Fournier, everybody else looks to me like they are playing the same or worse than last year.

No doubt we have gotten better. Maybe it's me, but I just don't see much development from anyone other than Fultz or JI. My expectations are probably too high. It's tough to build a good team in this league.
