Weltman made a good point that we haven’t clicked this year. Chemistry doesn’t seem great from a viewer’s perspective.

I saw on Twitter yesterday someone say that the team looked like they were disappointed they were still together and I have to agree.

Hopefully there are moves to be made in the summer to shake things up and get this team playing the right style of basketball for the players we have.

The bottom line is top end talent.  We can talk about this and that but it means nothing unless you strive to get that talent.  There has never been a winner in the NBA without top end talent.

The problem with this franchise has always been ownership's, by way of Alex Martens, refusal to rebuild the right way. I know everyone blames Henny for many things, and obviously he made some very questionable moves, but I'm almost certain that ownership had lost their patience with the rebuild and instructed him to make moves to put a winning product on the court now, thus abandoning any long term rebuilding plan. Again, not defending Henny...I know that will get me tarred and feathered, just lending some context to the issue that exists within this organization...who seem quite content to roll out a perennial 7th seed so that they can exclaim "hey, we made the playoffs gang!"

You can have your opinion about Otis, but he would always say our goal is to bring a championship to Orlando period.  Alex and current front office told us exactly what their goal was.  "We want to be competitive for an extended period of time"  "We want to bring a chip by 2030"

    1. The options at this deadline suck and there is such a thing as making matters worse by making a ****ty trade.

    2. If we do make a trade it will be announced within 45 mins of the deadline bc that’s how Hammond operates.

I want something to happen like all of us do bc this team has issues but this notion that this deadline could fix things is wrong in general.

Absolutely.  But I think it is more about showing or starting a more positive overall direction.

This is why I had to peace out the past 8 months or so. I couldn’t believe the amount of fans that were excited and happy with our moves. Vuc and Ross both were in contract years and played like it.That was complete fools gold and people ate it up. I get we were in the midst of a playoff drought so people were naturally excited but anyone with some forward thinking could tell our team still lacked to much talent overall.

It was so obvious to me all we did was lock ourselves into mediocrity. 7-8 seed for the foreseeable future which like you stated is actually the worse place to be.

But the FO was getting pressure from fans and probably ownership that we had to keep our “first all star since Dwight” and build off our playoff run.

This team was not skilled enough to make the moves we did last summer. We still need a good young piece. Should have let Vuc and Ross walk and focused on adding another prospect to go with JI and Fultz (Bamba too if you’re a believer).

Locking up a roster that won 42 games and probably overachieved in doing so wasn’t the smart play. The Aminu signing was laughable too.

With KD coming back next year and the 6 teams ahead of us being so much better I don't think starting next year the 7th seed will be in play anymore.  I mean you never know what could happen but that seems like the most likely scenario.

Most frustrating part is Markelle let the game come to him, waiting to take his first shot until like 4 minutes left in the 2nd, then he went on a nice roll and then got ignored for the last 2 minutes.. Fournier and Vooch buddy ball took over the last 2 minutes again...

That's why Vooch and Fournier hinder the development of our young players!  This organization has allowed them to have some sense of entitlement.

I’ve been a stanch defender of Vooch and to a lesser extend Fournier; well I’m ready to admit I was wrong. I think it’s time to move on if possible. Vooch’s game was last decade and Evan is a 6th man on a good team; I don’t want to pay him starter money. I appreciate the front office trying to stay competitive until our young grows, but maybe it’s time to rip the bandaid off; a first round exit is not worth it.

The playoffs are fun because you feel like you are getting better and closer to winning a championship.  If you have a team or young star or stars that have not come close to reaching their full potential and can ascend in the playoffs then you go through the necessary growing pains.  But when you have a team without a true star whose ceiling is getting stomped in the first round every year in a weak conference and the teams above you are so much better then you it is not fun at all!
