I’m with you. I’ll always watch because I love the Magic but I watch knowing it’s cooked at times.

Tonight was one of those games. I remember Tim Donaghy saying they would manipulate the games more that wouldn’t get a lot of backlash, meaning smaller teams. If OKC and GS played or LA, and the free throw disparity was what it was tonight—this would be the leading story on every sports talk show tomorrow.

But you help fix the lines against a team like Orlando and no one outside of Orlando will talk about it.

Donaghy was a total schmuck but if you listen to some of the things he said went on it really does make a ton of sense. The nba did a great job of casting him off as a lone wolf bad apple but let’s get real—he’s not alone.

Is what it is though. The fact we were able to get that game to OT was impressive.

Just stop.  It's pathetic and sad.  There is no conspiracy against the Magic.  Yes there are superstar calls that happens.

There's guys with similar upside but not guys that we value. Garland is a short shooter type that plays no defense. Lillard in Chris Paul's body. Morant is a shifty guy who gets to the rim and passes well but not a great shooter or defender and dominates the ball. Jones is well rounded with a lower ceiling but is supposedly 6'2 with a 6'3 wingspan.

I see what you are saying.  None of those guys sound like Weltman/Hammond type of players.  I like Cole Anthony more in the 2020 draft but when I just looked him up I didn't realize he only has a 6'3.5 wingspan.

So of the 2 most reasonably attainable trades we’ve been talking about which would y’all rather see us do...

    A) Ross for Fultz (probably our only shot at landing him)

    B) Vuc for Lonzo Ball

    C) BOTH

    D) Neither

Both.  You have 2 shots at a high level point guard that you can get possibly get now.  I don't see a PG prospect in the 19 draft with the upside those 2 have.  And I don't see the Magic being big players in free agency this summer.

Great article. The author concludes that we might want to trade Vooch right now, as he’s in a contract year and his value will never be higher.

I agree with the author on trading him.   We should be focusing on the future and building a team that can compete at the top of the Eastern Conference for years to come.  As well as Vooch is playing I don't see our ceiling ever being high enough with him to ever be a serious threat.  The same goes with T Ross, trade him for assets while his value is high.

So when does the Fournier trade happen?

I know it's one game, but man. He hurt us tonight. Also taking Gordon out allowed KD just to go off.

But all in all...proud of our guys. Vuc another solid game, Ross...can we please resign him now? Solid showing from Isaac and Bamba and DJ.

It's not just one game with Fournier.  We are 21 games in and he is shooting 42% from the field with a 13.42 per.  That's bad!

I'm not. Worst case scenario he's basically ish Smith. Good athleticism, good passing, good defense, can execute a drive and kick. Kills spacing on teams without a stretch 5. We kick the tires for a couple years and move on if no improvement. The version of Fultz today is probably better than jerian Grant.

Best case scenario he's the exact guard you'd build to play with our young guys.

Really a no brainier to get him for non-essential assets

I absolutely agree.  You have to take a flyer on him.  Like you said the low side potential is not that bad but the upside potential could be great.  Besides that we have time considering Bamba and Isaac are probably 3 years away from reaching their potential!

It’s perplexing as to what we should do. Obviously our biggest need is a Point guard; this is the elephant in the room. We need some guard play! Do we sell high on AG (and get backcourt help) before people begin to figure out he’s overrated and extremely inconsistent; the only problem is Issac’s glass ankles. Will AG eventually chase that Hollywood dream?; he seems like the type to crave that culture. He seems out of sorts to me and I’m wondering if there are some issues brewing. We have some decisions to make and maybe it’s prudent to be open to moving AG for a fair deal. He’s definitely not untouchable! Knowing our luck he’ll pull a Oladipo on us. I’d roll the dice on the right deal. Do other GMs value him? Maybe not, as I remember McKale not being too impressed with him. It may not be that easy.

This franchises ability to even perform the most basic of duties died when Bob Vander Weide left

Funny.  I was talking to a friend and said ever since Alex took over, the franchise has gone down hill.  The lesson is don't let a marketing guy make basketball decisions.  I am new here so I am not trying to name drop or be a jerk.  I was at a work event 2 weeks ago and Vander Weide came in.  I came face to face with him and my fandom took over and I said "I wish you never left"  he sincerely said  "thanks I really appreciate that"  He obviously never wanted to leave.  He is such a class act!

We’d probably have to throw in a pick, but Bron has tried to recruit Simmons before and he’s a win-now piece for them where Magic (Johnson) has already put the pressure on them to do so. Vucevic helps their Center weakness and would be great playing alongside guys like James and Rondo. We’d punt on the season (which we should do anyway at this point) but on paper a Ball/Fournier/Isaac/Gordon/Bamba future 5 has great potential. Then you have KCP and Ross come off the books in the off-season and our only guaranteed non-rookie contracts are Fournier, Gordon and Mozgov.

I see your points.  From what I have noticed is JaVale Mcgee has been playing some pretty good ball for them so Vucevic would be a high price to pay to split minutes.  Also from a Lakers perspective when it comes to fit.  I think Lonzo and Kuzma are better fits to play with James moving forward and Ingram is the odd man out.   Don't get me wrong I am all about unloading anyone who should not be considered part of our young core moving forward.
