That’s so self defeating. Even the posters on this forum have adopted this team’s attitude.

This team should be doing everything to get AD here. And for the record none of us know whether or not AD would consider resigning here.

I totally agree with you.  Sometimes you have to take a chance and dare to be great.

Why are we inquiring about Jrue Holiday when there’s a bigger prize. That Dell Demps is not a bright fellow. He was going to take a crap offer from LA until Stern came in. Who says he doesn’t win now type players and a pick or two? Offer up Gordon and EF and a couple picks, take back Solo or another junk contract.

Not sure that would work out but I love the attitude!  What happened to "Be bold. Be Blue"!

He's the best defensive guard in the league and is averaging 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists since Davis went down. If that's not impact I don't know what is

Yes putting up good numbers on a bad team.  Kinda like Vooch.

I have no idea. Obviously the positive impact depends on the cost. It's a sliding scale. But dismissing the idea outright is just wrong

No dismissing this idea is totally correct.  He is due $79 million the next 3 years.  Makes no sense.

It's not really a good presumption.

We lose these games because we run our offense almost exclusively through Ross, vucevic, and Fournier in the fourth quarter. In January Ross is shooting 38/31 vucevic is shooting 41/29 fournier is shooting 38/26. Those guys aren't closers. Gordon has 60/42 splits and gets only 2.1 fga in the fourth quarter but I'm not sure those numbers would hold up with higher usage.

Jrue is a significantly better closer than these guys, fixes the "who does fournier or Augustin defend" problem and makes us significantly better overall.

    How is that bad?

Well first who are you giving up to get Jrue?

Are you serious?? you are telling me that Jrue doesnt do it for you.

We need to start winning  games and jrue is a star talented PG at 29 that can help us achive that.  I mean. Westbrook is 30, Harden is 29, Butler is 29. Are you telling me you will not take any of this guys because their ages?

That fact you compared Jrue to Westbrook and Harden tells me something.  If Harden was on this team we would be top 4 in the east no doubt!

Acquiring talent so these games mean something to the development of the young guys. We're not garbage, we're flawed. If we were garbage we wouldn't have leads in these games. Obtaining an all star caliber player for a few years is nothing like paying a backup center a giant contract.

"Oh no we're only a playoff team for a few years, the horror!"

If you are tied for the 6th worst record in the leaugue and 8-18 in your last 26 games you are garbage.  And no Conley or Jrue is going to fix that big picture problem.

By that theory, and the assumption that you only can get talent with top draft picks, every team that’s any good now would have to have tanked. Which is obviously not the case.

This idea that there’s only one way to create a good team, and that’s to be terrible until you luck into a superstar, is what’s driving what we’ve become.

Look at NBA finals the last 30 years and tell me how many times one of their stars was a  player selected outside of the top five?  Start with the one Golden State title.

Just lose all year long.  Don’t try at all.  That’s the secret to developing a winning outlook in your young players, and to finding long term success.

Hiw many years of futility will it take to convince some of you that this is the exact opposite of what we should be doing?

If you don't have the right young talent it is irrelevent what you are trying to develop.  This is the NBA talent trumps everything.

Again, we didn't lose the tanking battle in March, we lost it in October.

We finished the last 28 games on 20 win pace and won a few games playing g-league players plus hezonja 35 mpg. There's nothing more we could have done

Good point.  I went back to look at the end of last years schedule and we definitely did everything we could to put ourselves in a good position at the end to be honest.  But on Nov. 10th we were 8-4 so there we go.

If we need more than 3 players to be a good team (PG and some guys who can shoot well as you stated) we are garbage at our current state.

Also we tend to pencil in BIG and just assume that’s some great young nucleus but the reality is we have little evidence suggesting that to be the case.

Im the least optimistic I’ve been in the future of our team than I’ve ever been during this rebuild.

I had more hope when we had Dipo, Harkless  Harris, Vuch.  I at least thought that core could be good (though probably never great).

I am not convinced we have 1 sure thing on our team. We’ll see what happens and I’m obviously hoping for the best but I don’t see it. I see no light at the end of the tunnel right now.

I think this roster gets blown up by the summer. Couple moves be the deadline aimed at the future than more in the summer.

It’s time to take the trash out.

I am standing up clapping right now!!!  Thank you for saying this.  It's long overdue for Welt/Ham to be bold and put a plan in place moving forward!
