We’re 21-9 over the last 30. We split the season against both the Raptors and Sixers, with one of the raptors wins coming off a buzzer beater. Since January, we’ve been a top 5 defensive team. We have a defined style of play that can make us competitive against anyone. We’re more than just a team that doesn’t beat ourselves, we’ve been a legit top half team since we’ve turned the corner in January. Assuming Fournier doesn’t revert back to sucking, I trust in him to get us a bucket when we need it, like he did tonight.

All in all, I’m we have it in us to pull off the upset. I do think, however, we’re a good bet to take Toronto/Philly to 6, and get some eyes on us from around the league. That’s a pretty good result for this season.

(I’d also love to be proven wrong and get into the 2nd round)

We will see and hope for the best.  But you will see regular season and playoffs are totally different.  Regular season does not mean a damn thing.  Us bringing the ball up slowly and feeding Vuc is not going to work in the playoffs, you saw what happened tonight when Boston ratcheted up their defense tonight in the 4th.

  2. Seeding does not matter and nobody is worried about facing us so please stop with the rhetoric.  As we have seen this year Clifford teams don't beat themselves but that overacheiving we have had this year stops when the intensity is to a different level in the playoffs.  I am not hating but keeping things in context we just don't have that next gear to go to.  We do not have a star or stars who make all the difference in the playoffs.  Let's enjoy this great season!!!!

Evan with a top PG who can facilitate properly would be much better i reckon.

    Guys strip this all back...

DJ AUGUSTIN is our STARTING PG... He has done admirably but until we get a top class PG this team cannot reach it's full potential..end of story!!

If we all think about it logically we would ALL have taken fighting for the playoffs right until the end of the season right? That would be deemed PROGRESS..

Some might say better than we expected..

I still think we have a darn good chance at making it and if we don't then its still progress ( frustrating i get it trust me )

The biggest thing i take from this is management really get to see who we should keep and who needs to go once and for all. No more excuses!

I guess going from the 5th worst record in the leauge to currently the 10th worst record with outlier health to our starters is a little progress.  I just don't put much stock into being 7 games under .500 fighting for a playoff seed in the week east as any significant progress.

I’m not advocating for either keeping or getting rid of Vuch.  I’m advocating to keep the team moving forward, improving each year.  No more of the being terrible as the route to get really good.  We’ve seen over the past 7 years where that leads.

Now we’re finally showing some improvement, it has been very difficult to accomplish because we’ve been really bad a long time, and you want to go backwards.  It is ridiculous.

Well we can't do anything about the past and just because that past was bad and poorly managed doesn't mean the future will be.  We can only look at making the best decisions for our team and roster now and moving forward.  Yeah we have made some improvement this year with outlier health to our starters in a weak eastern conference.  But the core of our team now and in the future is the core 4  (Isaac, Gordon, Bamba, and Fultz).  Vooch has shown us his best this year and we are still not good, you don't win with Vooch as your best player.  We will probably lose more games next year without Vooch but I don't think we will not be terrible (If we re-sign Ross) .  These young guys are not near their peak but will need reps and be allowed to make mistakes they can learn from.  We need to pick a direction and go with it 100% and not half-ass it, we need to be more patient.    We might have to take 1 step back next year and invest in our youth so we have the possibility for a huge ROI in the future.

Totally ridiculous.  They’re scratching and clawing to get better, slowly becoming a playoff team and you want to go backwards.  Incredible, actually.

Not rediculous at all.  There is no logical explanation to keep Vooch especially anything over 2 years, especially with our roster composition.  You are simply looking for instant gratification by being an 8th seed for a couple years instead of looking at the big picture and being patient.

Long term, we are better off letting vooch walk

short term, we will have another 25-30 win season next year as bamba still develops

we need isaac gordon and ross to take the reins moving forward, and if fultz is somewhat decent, then we got something going

In 3-5 years we could have a stronger contender if we build around big ross and fultz

I absolutely agree with what you said.  I think we need a couple more seasons drafting relatively high because we need to add to our young core.  That way hopefully we have our young core and some extra peices to dangle in trades.

Interested in everyone’s 3 step plan for offseason. What to do with Vooch/Ross, who to draft and who to sign?

mines 1. Let Vooch walk, offer Ross 12mill a year max. Should stay.

    2. Dream draft is garland. Happy with NAW. Or maybe take a swing on the French dude.

    3. Sign russel to an offset sheet make Brooklyn max him. Then maybe sign Collison

Could not agree more with 1.  Garland would be awesome I just don't think he will fall to us.

It's a bad idea at that number

But resigning vucevic really depends on what he does in the playoffs.

What I think is going to happen is he'll get put into pick and rolls constantly and teams might go small to play him off the court.

But if that doesn't happen it changes things.

All good points.  I am not a big fan of signing him period, but if you do and believe as I that Bamba is the future starter,  nothing over 2 years would make sense to me.

Yes. When you get beat by a Cleveland, NY, and other lottery teams with the playoffs on the line and you don’t make it by one game, it shows we have a serious problem.

I don’t think we’re EVER going to luck into a spot like this again. The stars aligned for us this year.

Yes I agree those are bad losses to Cle, NY,  etc.  but that is who we are right now.  A below .500 team that is inconsistant and not leaps and bounds better then those teams.  And yes we do have serious problems if we eventually want to be eastern conference contenders.

It would be a failure in my opinion if we don’t make the playoffs. The inability to capitalize on what was given to us with other teams resting their stars, the health we’ve had, the fact that we had a first all star in years, the historically weak east and STILL can’t make it?

No, the team would need a serious shake up. We had every chance possible.

Yeah but come on our all-star is Vooch.  If it was Gordon I would feel totally different.  This team needs a serious shake up anyway, like it or not we are still and should be in rebuild mode.  So you are saying if we miss the playoffs by 1 game it is an automatic failure?
