2021 Trade Deadline Thread

Recommended Posts

Just seen the twitter post is in the Vooch thread so edited it out.

Boston and Knicks winning last night has also helped us with Chicago's pick. May have to become a temporary Boston, Indiana, Knicks fan!

For a team that's struggled through injuries this year I couldn't help but notice:

Otto Porter Jr - hasn't played more than 60 games since 17-18

Gary Harris - also hasn't played in more than 60 games since 17-18

Wendell Carter Jr - has never played in more than 50 games in a season

Yes we are the premier injury team in the league. On the other hand the whole team will be a great redemption story next year. All these guys are still young and will be super hungry to prove themselves.

The trade was never a 'good' trade for Chicago. Did they get better, yes. Vooch is an upgrade over WCJ. Will they get more wins, no. Chicago has little issue scoring, it's on the defensive end where they have their issues. Vooch does little to solve that. They have a brutal schedule to boot so it's quite likely they miss out on the playoffs. They basically became what we were, mediocre. Lavine also expires next season so is going to cost more or leave.

As of last night they dropped in the standings again, the pick is now #9.

I feel much better about the trade then the other day. It was probably the best one out there. I still don't understand the play in games 7th-10th seed thing. However I feel pretty confident the Bulls won't win it. They play no defense and have no real point guard. Your right, they might actually wind up with a worse record then before the trade.

I think they can beat Atlanta in the tournament, if it comes to that. I just don't believe in the Hawks

Well, if you don't want to worry about losing the pick, then lets all root for the Bulls! Lol. In all honesty, it can go either way. In the end if they wind up with the 9th or 10th worst record, it's better for the Magic. After listening to all the talking heads the last two days i feel pretty good about the return of the trades. Everything is set up to be much, much better then the last rebuild.

I have no doubt you’ll still be here after all the time you’ve been part of this forum.  There aren’t that many of us “die-hards”.  Whether you’ll still be excited by the new start at that point is what I’m wondering.  Hopefully it will all work out well.

This will be a quick rebuild...this Front Office is different from past ones. They know what they are doing !!!

RJ, Cole, Wendell and Bamba all 5 stars recruits. Chuma, 4 stars .Karim Mane, 5 stars.

Plus 2 high lottery picks this year. Hopefully with the first overall....Cade. His comparable is none other than Grant Hill.

Plus 3 more firsts, the following 2 years.

Except for the Shaq / Penny era we have NOT seen something like this.

We are in for a lot of thrills and wins. We might very well be one of the best teams of this decade. Two championships (at least) between 2025-2029?

It’s gonna be real fun watching Bamba and Carter compete for who deserves to be the future 5 and a contract extension, with both of  them going in to the last year of their rookie deals next year. They’ve also both been unimpressive enough to not demand a huge second contract and I think both still have a ton of potential

Let's hope so.  I will need to see it happen to believe it though.
