UhOhItsMagicH7 Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 First time poster here, but I've read these boards a lot. Anyways, with our PF spot in flux and Hedo is in the last year of his contract what about this trade. Bogans, Hedo, and Redick for the Bulls Noah, Hinrich, and Thabo Sefolosha? http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?playe...4~19~19~19&te=&cash= This gives the bulls no drama between derek rose and kirk then they can have jj/ben gordon shooting up 3's and Hedo a great fit there. It gives us a PF that we desperately need, and he's a kid that plays hard and loves to win. And Kirk is a solid PG and can set us up to have 2 great PG's and maybe even trade Jameer later on. We also get Thabo who is a 6-7 SG, which is worth the trade if he works out to be a solid player. He started to blossom last year towards the end of the year. I would also do this for gordon in place of Hinrich I think, but in the trade machine it doesnt work cause he isn't signed. What do you guys think? Quote

UhOhItsMagicH7 Posted September 17, 2008 Author Report Posted September 17, 2008 I also like this deal, which keeps us from taking on Kirk's contract and not making controversy. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?playe...9~19~19~19&te=&cash= We give up Bogans and Hedo and get Tyrus Thomas who I love, along with Thabo, and the more I read about him the more I like. Also Aaron Gray and Cedric Simmons in the deal for fillers to make the money work. And I, myself wouldn't mind having Aaron Gray, him being a former Pitt Panther (My favorite college team) =) Edit: Plus all 4 are expiring contracts if they don't work out, we can go out and try to sign someone for the long term. nbr Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Wait till Feb, this team is good to go. Wait till Feb. Quote
FENDI Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 I just don't see it happening. While Otis has confirmed he had interest me drafting Thabo [but the Fran debacle],I just don't see it happening now especially Thabo isn't really an upgrade at the 2 spot, IMO Quote
UhOhItsMagicH7 Posted September 18, 2008 Author Report Posted September 18, 2008 I'm not saying this team isn't good to go, however a lot of people are speculating on Hedo, and I for one don't want to just sit around in next years off season and watch him walk away like multiple players have done to the Magic franchise. In my opinion I don't think it will happen either, however Thabo is possibly one of the most athletic guys on the Chicago Bulls and he can defend 3 positions. A lot of people thing that his offense will just continue to get better if he gets the minutes and doesn't have a different coach midway through the season. Skiles once praised Thabo on how good he actually is defensively. Hinrich/Jameer Pietrus/Thabo/CLee Rashard/Pietrus Tyrus/Battie/Gortat Howard/Gortat That's a beautiful line up in my books. Un-realistic but hey a man can dream cant he? Quote
Live or Die Magic Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 If Turk is traded for a PF, it will likely be for one that doesn't have the question marks that Noah and Thomas have. At least, I hope so! Quote

It's never gonna happen. Quote

So that would still be a liability. Other then that to get Tyrus here with Howard would be something to see. But i forgot that Thabo plays pg as well and plays great defense. I like this trade. I hope Tyrus gets a little bigger though. Maybe he can work out with Howard to bulk him up a little. Other than that the trade looks ok to me. Quote

Or this lineup Nelson/Sefalosha/Hinrich Pietrus/Lee/Sefalosha Lewis/Pietrus/ Thomas/Battie/Gortat Howard/Gortat I really like Hinrich, probaly more than Nelson but only 1 of them can start and Thabo would have to play backup. Also thats too much money spent at the PG but i think Hinrich contract is coming to a end so. Also how does Turk help Chicago. Deng and Turk play the same position unless they wanted Turk to play at the 2 or off the bench. Who knows. But Thomas and Thabo we should definitely trade. I dont know for Turk though. Quote

I'm going to have to disagree with you about hinrich/nelson. Obviously we would shop Nelson, after this trade went through, but Hinrich plays very good defense when guarding the fellow teams point guard. He's been hung out to dry a lot at the bulls, especially when Ben Gordon is there, because Kirk has to guard the 2, which is more likely bigger and stronger than him. With the magic, his sole purpose will be guarding the 1, with Pietrus/Thabo guarding the 2's and Lewis at the 3. I like how kirk has a great stroke, but he is also improving on being a playmaker. Put him together with dominant players such as Dwight, we could see him blossom into a great point guard. It would make our team very tough to beat in my opinion. And i'll have to disagree about noah and/or thomas being a question mark. Noah is still young, but last year when skiles finally left, you got to see his tremendous heart and fire in games. Putting him next to Dwight will only help him, and trust me he's a great player. As for Thomas, he's so athletic, tall and lanky. He also can prevent problems for opposing teams D. What do you do double dwight and give noah/thomas an easy dunk? We need that type of inside presence with dwight. 1 of those 2 can do it, and getting Thabo/Kirk in a deal means that Turk is out the door in my opinion. Quote
