I've confirmed it is indeed 6:00PM PST (9:00 ET) that the maintenance will begin. If the update does take 24 hours, you can expect the site to be down for a good portion of tomorrow as well.

I think they must still be working on it...

 

I just went to the beginning page and there were only 3 logged on and 1 guest...

 

I reloaded a couple of times and that number grew each time.
