jack daniel 999 Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 "We tried to impress upon the guys that we're going to have to work twice as hard to get back to the same place we are now and three times as hard to reach our goal of a championship," Smith said. "It's not easy. The Chicago Bulls should tell you there are no guarantees. You can have a good year and then have a horrible year. It's not just a case of, 'Hey, we're here and we're on the rise.' It doesn't work that way because there are teams behind you that are trying to get better and pass you." "I think we're better," Turkoglu said of comparing the Magic to the Pistons. "If you look at the series closely it upsets me. Detroit played better, but it's not like they totally outplayed us. We lost and everybody is really upset right now. We're the ones who let it slip away. It's not like they came and took it from us." Added Howard, who said he didn't sleep at all Tuesday night after the team arrived back in Orlando at 2:30 a.m.: "No doubt, we are as good as Detroit. But things didn't happen the way we planned it. It came down to a lot mental mistakes that we made. We could have as easily won the series as we just lost it." "Our current players have to continue to improve. And we have to bring in some different players and more players to make our team better," Smith said. "You can't throw this same team out there and expect different results. That's the definition of insanity. We have to look for ways to improve our team. http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/...05150322/1002/SPORTS _________________________________________________ well it's look's like we're going to see some new faces around here next season... but the question remains the same...WHO ? Berto Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 This will be one of the most important offseasons in franchise history. We'll get a chance to see what our managements made of this summer. For Otis' sake, he better get things right this time around or he'll be looking for a job come this time next year. Quote
Jareth Cutestory Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 It's obvious Otis is going to get new players. He's not a moron. The question is who? That will determine whether we have a good GM, or a bad GM. Adding Lewis was a great move apart from his contract, so let's see who he can get with the limited amount of money we have this year. Like I said in another thread, there is no way he can overpay someone this year. Right? Quote

Billyball Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I think the Detroit series made it vey clear we need to get another bigman who can pull down rebounds. We got killed on the boards especialy late in games. It wouldnt suprise me to maybe see turk go aswell, i can imagine his stock is high at the moment and some team might offer us a deal that is too good to turn down. It'l be a very interesting offseason Quote

I know it's supposed to be about Otis, but this quote sticks out to me. I am glad to hear this type of quote, because usually when something bothers you so much that you can't sleep and it's on your mind so heavily, it will stick with you and motivate you. Quote
Darthmagic Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I don't know about anyone else but the more i read about Otis is the more i believe in him. Otis sounds like he knows what it takes to win. I know we will have a better team on the floor. Get errr done Otis! Quote
Berto Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 It's easy to say the right thing. I want to see Otis deliver on those words. Quote

Arroyo fan Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 We need to get nasty. Not in the sense of being bad guys and punch other teams in their faces, or taking T's all over. But seriously, we have to stop being so "ok I foul, attitude". I'm sure you guys know what I'm saying. Hey, even Sucky show more attitude than our team, a Rookie? Are you kidding me? We don't only need to get a starting pg and a true PF. We need someone with attitude or who is nastier like Big Ben, Verajeo, Ratliff...I don't know someone who no matter if someone hit he's balls he we still got at it. Howard-not nasty by any means Lewis- sorry, but SOFT Hedo- show attitude but not always Evans- Nasty? haaaaaaaa Nelson- In the line of Hedo Dooling-Could be the only Nasty player we had Reedick- We don't even know LOL Carlos- Only if they say something about PR, but no he's not nasty by any standard. Bogans- No Warlock- Still a don't know SVG- The only one who is nasty always lol! Quote
Soul Bro Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I am glad Otis and the players are upset. Maybe they can post on my "Anger Thread." I think Hedo defines the Peter principle. I think we should trade him now while his value is at an all-time high. Go Magic! Quote
