atl_2.gif Atlanta added two victories to the win column after defeating the lowly Miami Heat twice on Saturday. The Hawks held the Heat without a basket in the final 51.9 seconds of a suspended game before outlasting the Heat by three in the regularly scheduled contest. The first contest was required to be replayed after NBA commissioner David Stern upheld the Heat's protest after ruling that the Hawks' official scorer was "grossly negligent" in assessing a sixth foul to former Miami C Shaquille O'Neal. All-Star G Joe Johnson came up big in both contests, controlling two crucial rebounds in the suspended contest and tallying a season-high tying 39 points in the regularly scheduled game. ... The victory in the regularly scheduled game provided much-needed relief for the Hawks, who had dropped four in a row and 12 of 15 entering Saturday. While the win in the suspended contest aided the Hawks' playoff hopes, the statistics for that game were accrued on December 19 under NBA rules. ... The last time two clubs played a similar doubleheader was 25 years ago, when the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs played two after the league upheld a Spurs' protest.

orl2.gif The Magic, winners of six of their last eight games, had their season-high five-game home winning streak snapped on Saturday. ... Orlando came into Saturday's game averaging 104.6 points, tops in the Eastern Conference and the franchise's best mark in the last 13 years. ... Magic C Dwight Howard, who wound up with 26 points and 12 rebounds, averaged 24.0 rebounds in the previous two matchups with Golden State. ... Howard, F Hedo Turkoglu and F Rashard Lewis - Orlando's "Big Three" - finished with 70 points, more than 10 above their season average. ... Reserve G Keith Bogans, who scored 22 points in Orlando's 123-117 overtime win at Golden State earlier this season, scored four points Saturday night as Orlando's reserves were outscored, 22-10.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Orlando, Dwight Howard -- Although he had 26 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots Saturday night against Golden State, he has tended to be held below his averages against the Hawks. Atlanta, Joe Johnson -- The Magic are far from the only team the Hawks' all-star guard has torched. Johnson is coming off a 39-point performance against Miami.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

1. This is the first of three meetings between now until April 15 involving the two teams. The Hawks are the only Eastern Conference team the Magic have yet to defeat this season.

2. The Hawks have gone 5-8 since acquiring guard Mike Bibby in a trade Feb. 16 from Sacramento.

3. Hawks center Al Horford leads all rookies in rebounds and is second to Seattle's Kevin Durant in minutes played.

hey fans..I ve noticed in warriors game... in any of regular possestions Rashard did pass ball to Hedo even Hedo was at right position..I dont know this might be due to the set or ball rotation..but it might be signs of a in-team conflict as well..i m gonna check this in hawks game..

can you explain this in different wording b/c i don't understand what you are saying there. thanks

he says rashard dont passes ball to turk and that can be a sing of in-team conflict..

and i disagree..

Ohhhh, okay, thanks. and yeah i disagree too...i think rashard needs to get more selfish b/c he passes the ball so much.
