Funny how Van Gundy points how Turkey didn't have a great quarter after making the winning shot and all even if it's "a joke" while his favorite underachievers Lewis and Jameer rarely have two good back to back quarters.

Van Dumby doesn't have a very good memory. Turkey was the one hitting a 3 that sparked that little run in the 4th. Boston came back but what was he expecting? He has no idea how to teach defense or substitute his players properly to make defensive stops.

The only thing that's mind-boggling is him leaving Lewis to try to learn how to play defense down low when he obviously can't. If he subs a real PF like Foyle or Augustine our guys can be free to stick to Ray Allen or Posey so they don't hit the three. Rondo doesn't get that far down in the paint making Dwight look bad.

Foyle may be worth a shot, but his minutes would be as limited as they are now and you'd still have Lewis playing a lot of minutes at PF. Even then, Foyle is not a "real PF" as you suggested. He'd still get abused, just in a different way and possibly to a slightly lesser extent.

Also, I've said it many times before and I'll say it again. Augustine will not be an upgrade over Lewis on defense. He's pretty much the same size as Rashard with much less NBA experience.

Even conceding that since Lewis isn't a PF he also isn't experienced in that regard, he still has more to work with than Augustine. James may develop into that role someday, but right now he isn't there.

Given the alternatives we have available right now, Lewis is the best option. The position needs to be addressed for sure, but neither Foyle nor Augustine are the solution to that problem.
