ball junkie Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 quote: Redick puts on a show Hardly anyone saw it, but two hours before the game, (G) - J.J. Redick put on a shooting clinic at the Pepsi Center. Taking feeds from an assistant coach and trying to simulate game conditions, Redick was moving around outside the 3-point circle, and he hit 10 consecutive bombs without a miss. His 11th bounced off the rim, but only because another shot knocked it off course. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/...8jan12,0,85325.story Quote

Skywise316 Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Just another example of what I've been saying for the past week or so. Future Magic Killer numero uno. Numero uno. Hopefully he's at least traded/signs with a western conference team so he only kills us twice a year instead of 3 or 4 times. Quote

First, you really need to get over it. You of all people should know that I am known on these board since it started for posting relevant and up-to-date Magic news. Second, based on the number of posts and views that recent Redick threads have gotten it is obvious that Magic fans are very interested in what is going on with him. I know you don't believe this but since he does play for the Magic I am interested in him too. Third, yes I have been crtical of him but that doesn't mean I don't want him to help this team if he can and or if the coaching staff lets him. The way our shooting guards have played lately I'm certainly not against him getting some minutes. Lastly, I didn't create this thread on my own. I just copied and pasted a link from an article in the Sentinel. Frankly, I was impressed by this shooting display. Tim Povtak witnessed and wrote a short story on it because he was obviously impressed too. If the coaching staff thinks he can help us then put him on the floor! Quote
bravlady Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Remember last year when JJ and Diener were messing around after shoot around and he shot the ball from several rows up in the stands? He made the basket. Not every player can do that. JJ does what he has to in order to keep in playing mode. He was simulating game shots which says a lot compared to those who just shoot to shoot. When he doesn't get PT, what else can he do? Quote
umut Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 quote: Redick "wows" a few with his pre-game shooting show. Great! Maybe he just needs to play kind of a shooting game league. Quote
DwightHoward1880 Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 i think when jj is warming up we need to darken the rest of the gym and put an angelic light on him and let him shoot by himslef during warm up, and then durign the game the other team will be mesmorized by his godly warm up skills and he wont have to play D Quote

SauceMoney Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Yea lets trade Redick to Denver. They need a 3pt shooter and we need a young all around scorer. Redick in a deal to get us J.R. Smith. Denver doesnt even use him that much and hes ready to be a starter in the NBA. Let him come start wih Howard Lewis and Turk. Smith will be awesome. Scouts compared him to a young Kobe Bryant that still has much more to learn and add to his NBA game. Let him come develop with us. He could end up becoming exactly what we need at that position. Hes averaging about 10ppg in 18mpg right now if we gave him starter minutes he would easily double that. Smith is the real deal so stop wasting Redick time and get this deal done Otis. You showed some interest in Smith earlier this season but didnt want to get rid of Dooling. Now Dooling can go and let us get Smith. We can also do a bigger deal and also get Najera back with Smith. That will be a good trade for us. But please let Redick go if your not gonna use him. Quote
Magic through thick n thin Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 redick for pietrus? we all know don nelson doesnt care about defense and would love to have even more 3pt shooters...redick would fit in perfectly...plus we get back another big body we desperately need, who has upside, plays defense and has been known to score. i really like redick and i really hope stan van can find a spot for him...but if he cant then it makes no sense to have him rot on our bench..let him go get playing time somewhere else; seems a shame to waste his shooting talent so we should either use it or trade it to someone else who would use it. Magic through thick n thin Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 and maybe we could find some way to get rid of brian cook as well in a trade with golden state...like i said, we know don nelson doesnt care about defense and loves 3pt shooters. Quote
