Does this team even have a mid-range game? Everything is Dwight down low and the 3 from outside. We started jacking up 3s too early in this game anyways, that's not a good strategy.

How about cutting and going for a dunk or a strong take (someone other than Dwight) to get some of the Pacers in foul trouble? Why don't we do that? It's possible us getting outrebounded and not getting 2nd chance points is due to our shooter always jacking up long shots that rim out long

That's all fine and good, but if following your suggestions results in winning fewer games, would you still be as adamant about it?

In my opinion, the Magic aren't losing enough to warrant drastic changes to their gameplan. Taking away everything else, if you have a strategy that will win you 16 out of every 20 games, wouldn't you want to stick with it?

I know this doesn't happen every game, but it's clearly not just luck.

Thats exactly what i said. I brought up why dont we take mid range shots and somebody told me mid range jumpers are so 90s. JJ was a mid range killer at duke off screens and moving picks. Were not fully taking advantage of our teams strengths. Were just spotting everybody up for open 3s. Its really boring to watch. But i think we could become alot better if we as a team add more to our offense like take more mid range jumpers and attack the basket for layups or dunks or even to get to the line for ft attempts. Were just so predictable. Either were gonna take the 3pt shot or we gonna dish to Howard for the dunk. And we still ended up 16-5 but we still cant beat the best teams. Maybe thats part of the reason why. While everybody else is taking mids we jacking 3s all game. I blame SVG.

Glad LiLPenny isn't the only one seeing that our record as impressive as it looks is deceiving. Has the Magic beat anyone convincingly yet? naybe the Bobcats..

Evidently we're watching different teams. "Naybe" the Bobcats were the only team the Magic beat "convincetly"? You guys easily forget that most years the Magic have major problems beating teams like the Bobcats in the first place.

We rely on three's wayyyy too much, Thats why i dont want too many good shooters on the team because when were not hitting them from the outside were stuck because no one will drive in. Shard needs to stop being scared with driving in with the ball. Hedo is the only guy i have confidence in driving the ball inside and creating his own shots, We gave up ariza who drove in quite well and had defense. We gotta learn that when were not making 3's, we gotta drive in and create shots/ goto the foul line not just shoot 3's all day.

you can disagree with the wisdom of LIlPenny if you want.

But when you go the route of "you're watching a different team then" it's kind of condescending which is funny coming from some clueless Koolaid drinker

oh look! It's a spelling bee festival, brought to you by Mr. Treehorny

Maybe you're great at spelling but don't know jack about NBA basketball. Please noob.. get outta here

We can't win them all fellas..Indiana out played us in the 2nd half, thats easy to tell..But yeah..Once we build leads like that we shold just concentrate at easier scores..more in the paint, mid range area..Because they captilized on the bad shooting..I Love Hedo, but dang, he did not have a good game..Once we build a comfortable lead, just go to the inside game & drive in..I see it as common sense really..It's a bad loss, but not the end of the world..We'll rebound from it..Let's just keep it moving..They played great so far, so I am not going to bash away..But, giving those leads, they need to work on keeping them and to stop shooting so many threes once a good leads establish is a great idea..Go Magic.

did you say shard hit his 1st three in the 3rd? If thats what you think then you WERE watching a different game.

dang if we had a coach that could lead us to 82-0 and a championship his FIRST season as coach we would be made. ha

There were too many 3's being launched in the 2nd half. Should have went down low to Dwight more. But the Pacers got hot and made a lot of 3's late in the game. So its not like the Magic handed them the game.

I do feel the team doesn't rely on team play enough. If a player is hot on the floor the team should try to get that player the ball more. Same goes for Dwight. If he is man handling his defenders then you keep getting him the ball. This loss does help SVG get the teams attention. I wouldn't Panic too much though.

reason #1 none of you are coaching in the NBA: we lost because of defense, not offense.

keep complaining about offense. i guess that's the easy thing to do. but we scored 109 points tonight. that should've been enough for us to win the game.

we knew we were a bad defensive team since the very beginning. as SVG said in his press conference, we played bad defense, too many TO's, didn't box out anyone, etc. that's where we faltered and that's what needs to be fixed. and like SVG said, we had the same problems against golden state. But for some reason, everyone here starts blaming SVG because he let the team shoot too many 3's. w/e. if they had done what he told them to do after watching Golden state tape, we would've blown out this team.

and if you haven't heard his press conference, i suggest you do, because it was enough to make me forget about the loss.
