nbr 15 Report post Posted September 7, 2007 With relevance to a recent lockage. It is stated in the rules that one should check throughly through the boards before posting. With that said instead of creating a new thread the intended person may come across an old thread that he would like to contribute to. Why should this be locked? The old threads have been contributed toward by those at the time and even so, if someone felt like going back to an old thread to discuss and old issue, why can't he do that? Its not hurting anybody. The only thing that is bull****, lol, is when you post in the correct thread and have a mod throw everyone else' **** on top of yours. Regardless of that issue, leave the old threads. They've been accepted in the past, if someone wants to discuss, leave it alone and focus on other things. FENDI 4 Report post Posted September 8, 2007 Rejuvenating old threads moves newer topics to the other page of the forum. Yes, a person should check the forum if what he is about to post has already been posted, but it doesn't mean to check the forum all the WAY back.
nbr 15 Report post Posted September 8, 2007 It does not and so what if it moves newer topics down, 1 or 2 slots. When have we ever seen a dozen or even half a dozen old threads return in the same period to really effect the newer posts? Its no big deal. Its a waste of time to lock these threads. People feel inclined to pursue old threads, let it be. Its not hurting anyone. Old discussions may be of interest to many and may warrant and allow retooling of old thoughts. I mentioned a recent occurance and that is in regard to the name thread. I guess locking that, to, is not an issue, but in regard to future discussions that returned, I hope they are left alone.
