I want Shabazz and Schroder some people will be mad at me for saying Shabazz he's he's going to be really good I think

I wouldn't take Shabazz with Wiggins and Parker coming to the league next year.

If Ben was as bad as somehow people here make out, he would not be considered to be the most talented player in the draft by guys like Bilas who spend all of their time watching college players. Scouts and GMs also all have him top 2.

That being said he has to work on his handle, especially his left hand. But the thing is that he CAN do that. It is really not crazy to think he will not develop those skills. If Earl Clark can learn to reliably hit a mid range J, JJ Redick learned to play rather effective D and Ariza could develop a 3 ball, I think Ben can develop his left hand and create more off the dribble.

I agree with what you're saying but the thing that separates those players from Ben's potential is the work effort, and why I'd select Oladipo over him. With Victor, there's no doubt he'll improve because of his crazy work ethic. Ben has a perceived notion that he coasts on his natural talents.

Given the past experiences of the league, I'd rather build a team with players that work hard and give high energy than players with natural talents and perceived laziness.

for those that dont like burke, what is it about his game that you dont like.

Probably just the mediocrity, nothing stands out. No one can deny he has the mindset for the NBA however.

I loved him in college. Just don't think his game will transfer over to that well to the next level. He isn't overally big or strong and doesn't have the athleticism to make up for it. Top tier pgs like Rose, Derrone Williams, Westbrook will own him. The game against Syracuse supports his struggles against length shooting 1-8 with 4 assists. Also how does the lack of size/athleticism effect his ability to pass? Guys have longer arms and are quicker in the nba. Against Louisville he struggled against the press and played out of control. Yea he dropped 24 in the championship but it exposed part of his game with 4 turnovers where in the nba how does he react in the 4th quarter of the playoffs?

For a guy who is a very good passer he seems to take a lot of unnecessary shots; eg vs UF. In the league he is strictly an outside shooter. There is absolutely no way Burke will be an efficient scorer in traffic. He has the ability to break down a defense and get to the rim but if forced to take the shot inside as bad as he was in college its only going to be worse in the pros. There were times he really struggled on defense and times where he just looked lackadaisical. He is going against men and he will get abused. Not to mention he will routinely get embarrassed on pick n rolls.

He was sick in college and think he will turn out to be a decent player, but I also think McLemore will be a decent player with a chance to very good. You cannot draft at number 2 and take a guy bc we have need or because he has less potential to really suck. There are 7 pgs in the league right now who are better than he ever will be. If thats a case there is no point in drafting him that high. So if he becomes say top 10-15 at his position you can call him a good player but he is nothing more than average among league starters. BMac possesses a rare set of skills. Call him a specialist but everyone has a roll. Not to mention he is a pretty good passer. Just my opinion. Time will tell.

I love the answer. I also saw some of what you have stated personally. I do want to point out a few things. NBA teams can not play the heavy zone. A lot of pgs would have trouble against Syracuse because of the packed in nature of the 2/3. The 2/3 needs to be broken by passes at the high post and low block. So, I dont think this shows a nba weakness. The NBA is man on man and heavy pick and roll, which is Burke's major strength and one of the reasons his game will translate.

I also think there are 10 or more pgs better than burke in the NBA. He is not going to come in and be d. rose. Do I think he will be better than greg hill, nelson, and a host of other starting pgs? Yes. And, I think those players are solid NBA starters. Burke has a high chance of being a middle of the road PG, but I think his ceiling, as an impact player, is higher than Bmacs. I think Bmac can be a top 10 shooter. He will not be a go to scorer. He will not be a major impact player. He will be a spacer and a transition scorer. I am thinking hubert davis, dell curry, wesley person, and at best eddie jones. He is not Ray Allen. Ray was an alpha dog. He had a lot more ball handle, work ethic, and a go to scoring state of mind.

I also think burke has the chance to be a top shooter and his shot will allow him to keep players off balance. He has the chance to be a bigger more athletic terrall brandon or mark price. I do try to stay away from saying super star levels like steve nash, because he is not there yet. But, he does have a chance to be special. His skill level and work ethic are off the chats. He will have a mean mid game. He will kill players going under screens and his vission is on per with some of the best pt guards. We do need to wait to see if he can make the passes he sees, but only time will tell. He will be better at passing than nelson. And nelson made the Allstars.

Why am I sure burke will have a bigger impact? Because, the ball will be in his hands. He will make others better. He will lead a team. It is like a quarter back vs a wide receiver. Play makers are the most important asset in the nba. Bmac is not a playmaker. Burke is a playmaker. How good of a playmaker? Again, only time will tell.

There are a lot of good pgs in the league. PG is an important roll, because {normally} they are the playmakers. PGs are hard to get. Teams dont give them away easy and most teams are not two deep with good pgs. Normally, you have either a pass first point or a scoring point, it is also rare to get both. Burke could be of that rare breed.

This question has been answered 20 times on this thread alone, but I'm glad more people answered it and gave better answers than I even did 10 pages back.

it is a lot of pages to go through and most people just say they dont like him or they dont want him at a top spot (1 or 2). Like the above post, I wanted actual detail regardless of the 20 other posts you mentioned. 20 posts over 100 plus pages is not fun to look through and it is not something I care to do today.

I wouldn't take Shabazz with Wiggins and Parker coming to the league next year.

Yeah, but this time last year everybody was talking about how good Shabazz is gonna be. That is why I like the one year in college rule, it kinda helps weed out the bust.

What happens if the magic doesn't get top 2 pick next year then you won't get any of them. Besides Shabazz might be able to play 2 and 3
