~O~ Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Am I the only one who new Dooling could play point before he was on this team. He was one of the ones that lead the Miami Heat to sweep our team. He was very athletic and very annoying in those days. Its great to have him on our team knowing that he was Magic killer. Quote

Drain-O Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I love this idea and how the game flowed. Doolings stats meant nothing last night the way he changed the game was obvious the moment he got in. Everyone picked up their game and the team just played better as a whole. Is he the future pg no but as a change of pace I love it. It will be important to have him against bigger PG's like Marbury and Kidd that will be coming up on the schedule. Quote
~O~ Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Hey wait a minute. Am I the only one here who hasn't Chagrin Dooling at all. How come everyone of you said that he should be a starting point guard in the second lineup now and that he is finer than thought? Keyon Dooling was having a rough season overall on the offensive end but that didn't necessarily mean he couldn't shoot. All he had problems with was putting the ball in the basket. Never mind, you guys changed your feelings about Dooling so fast that I don't even remember most of the fans assailing him Quote

Yes regular season. The guys would get in the lane so fast and he would dunk the ball down from the left side of the rim. Then he would play his annoying defense. At that point, I thought the Magic should get that guy or he'll mess with us for the rest of the time he's on this team. Quote

Arroyo also have more control of the ball than dooling. I understand that Carlos is not playing good but remember that this isnt our 1rst victory. I am not impressed with his numbers too, but numbers are basically numbers. It doesn't involve the little things that makes the difference. Numbers are overrated. Quote
serviviente Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 This is dumb. We win one game and all of the sudden this board has all of the answers. What we need is consistancy. If its Dooling good. If its Jammer good. If its Arroyo good. We try to blame our guards for everthing and its not so. With the exeption of Howard everyone is inconsistant. Quote
longdfan Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Wow that sounds like a challenge! Smack you playing for the USA Team? LOl! From what I have heard Carlos won't even start on the PR team. Quote
jasinfla Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Dooling did a good job last night but seriously if I was Travis Diener, I would feel so dejected. Here they are not starting Arroyo behind Jameer & even though he was a PG for the Miami Heat, they still have Dooling come in even though throughout the season he's been at SG & has done good? Diener's days are over with this team & I cannot wait until he comes back to Orlando in a different uniform & shows possibly what they could have had if he gets with a team that puts some development into him. rdeezy Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Keyons capable of starting,I say run him and Jameer in a rotation to where they both play valuable minutes. But he is deffinately someone capable of big minutes. Quote
The Solution Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 quote: Originally posted by bhnole/about Arroyo:A lot of teams need a scoring PG (Cleveland badly needs one), considering he will have an expiring contract next year. I could see someone gambling that he could be a better fit for them. If he does not work out, his expiring contract will still have worth for them. Cleveland now has a point guard. Did we get the idea about Dooling after observing Cleveland? http://nba.aolsportsblog.com/ Larry Hughes, Accidental Point Guard Posted Mar 15th 2007 6:02PM by Bethlehem Shoals?Filed under: Cavaliers, Eastern, Cleveland I've always been part of the "play LeBron at the point" movement, mostly because it would be awesome. Plus it wasn't ever clear that the Cavs had a better option. Eric Snow isn't even Eric Snow any more, Boobie Gibson is a shooter, and over-priced import Larry Hughes only became a player in Washington once he moved over to the two. Apparently, that's never going to happen. At least not for a while, since the Cavs have solved their point guard woes...with Larry Hughes. From Cavalier Attitude: Ever since installing Larry Hughes at the point on March 3rd against Toronto, the Cavs are a perfect 7-0. Even more impressively, they've had some of their biggest offensive explosions during this stretch, something that was a pipedream a few months ago when the stagnant offense prompted discouraging remarks by Hughes and LeBron James about head coach Mike Brown. The rest of the post goes on to discuss the current, uplifting state of the Cavs in great detail. Highly recommended. But I'm not sure why they hadn't tried Hughes before this point. Yes, he struggled at the position early in his career, and at least early on in Washington, he was primarily a scorer and rebounder. Yet when and Arenas tore it up in 2004-05, Hughes did his fair share of ballhandling and facilitating. With LeBron in the line-up, it's not like he'll ever have to really man the point. This is great for Cleveland fans, but maybe even better for the rest of us. Not only is LeBron back in effect--his team isn't now totally painful to watch. Quote
