I said it right after game one when i heard his speech. “We don’t worry about what adjustments they make, we just do what we do..” that’s such a bad take for team. a) because some individuals think they are better than they really are b) adjustments are a sign of weakness c) he don’t care about X and Os And what pisses me off. Coach never developed anything. He’s still coaching like he did in year 1. Players just playing pickup and calling their number. And then ingame, we see no adjustments and he’s always too slow to react. I mean, in the 3rd quarter he called his first timeout when we were down 15!!!!! 15 points in such a close dogfight game is almost over.. Quote

We won 7 out of the 8 quarters played so far... Last time I say it.... once our boys just hit there averages Detroit will not be able to cope with us at all. Quote

JJZFL Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Agree with the general assessment that being tied 1-1 after two games in Detroit is overall a success. If we competed for the whole second game and lost anyway, I’d feel good heading back to Orlando. It’s the way we lost the second game that concerns me. In the third quarter, we looked like a high school team against them. They completely outclassed us. Maybe we scored more points than they did in the fourth, but at that point they’d taken their foot off the gas. That kind of absolute beat down can carry over to future games. And it occurred even though we fought tooth and nail to stay in the game during the first half. That kind of loss can make a team question itself. I hope we find the confidence to be more competitive in the two games in Orlando. Quote

We damn near had a whole rotation full of shooters around Dwight. We were so ahead of the curve, to the point were everybody started following our blueprint. Quote

And it was so sad to hear that the Magic had scored only 80 points. Contributor "Jamesdin" and I were 2 of 3 participants discussing late into this morning after everyone else had shut it down. I posted that I watched the first half of the game, but was unable to watch the second half. It wasn't that I had anything else to do, but the way the Magic were playing, they looked like the Washington Generals playing the Harlem Globe Trotters. Starting the 3rd quarter, I couldn't watch anymore. I just kept my earbuds on at my computer and kept hearing the announcers mention Pistons scoring in droves. I retreated to a safe space with my "blanky" and my thumb in my mouth. :) So I removed the earbuds and waited until the end of the game to look at the scores. Tbn participant, Jamesdin, consoled me by explaining how and why the pistons won. *True Story* What's scary is in the past, the Magic have won a game on the road, only to lose the very next game at home. That’s clearly the main concern. Unfortunately, the Pistons will have some added momentum because of the way they completely took control of the last game in the third quarter. Quote
Jamesdin Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 I’m pretty sure our 6th man would be rocking on game 3. And most of our guys plays well at home. I expect game2 intensity but this time, we would be the one obliterating them. hold them to 81pts. Lol Can we trade our whole team to Bam straight up? Both can score 83pts. Lol Quote
