Well, I kept thinking "why would all of my graphics be deleted", so I googled and asked if the website I use for 'image hosting' is down, and yes it was down but it was back up around nighttime. I have been using that image hosting site for years. This is the first time it has been down.

I went ahead and prepared an official game thread for game 1 of our playoffs. If you are hesitant to pen it, I understand.

After dropping Game 1 on their home court, should the 60-win Detroit Pistons be nervous about losing three more times to the 45-win Orlando Magic? Yes. The Magic aren’t your typical no. 8 seed. Coming into this season, they had realistic NBA Finals ambitions. They were young, extremely talented, ascending, and, with Desmond Bane in tow, suddenly armed with the type of playmaking 3-point threat they badly needed. 

Then the injuries came. The vibes soured. The bickering began. The losses mounted. Their shocking subsequent blowout victory against the Charlotte Hornets didn’t happen by accident, though. The Magic did things in that game we hadn’t seen from them in weeks. They defended their asses off, moved the ball, and, um, actually cared! Now take a step back. Orlando is healthy, mean, and huge, and it has revived its own interest in competition. And the talent is still there. As he has been in every playoff series of his career, Paolo Banchero was unguardable at all three levels in Game 1, a postseason killer who could suddenly nail every turnaround baseline jumper and pull-up 3 you gave him. His comfort level in the second half was that of an MVP candidate, and he kept overpowering and outthinking one of the most impenetrable defenses in the league.

And then there’s Franz Wagner. Sometimes a basketball team doesn’t live up to the expectations that were thrust upon it because (arguably) its best player was effectively sidelined for four months with a devastating ankle injury. If the Wagner who finished Game 1’s fourth quarter with 11 points and four assists (without missing a shot) is here to stay, the Pistons may be screwed. 

Tobias Harris couldn’t stay in front of him on the perimeter, and Cade Cunningham couldn’t stop him in the post. If there was a mismatch involving Wagner, Orlando found it. He lived at the basket and kept finishing over quality contests; he was spry as hell and totally unafraid of the moment, let alone Detroit’s physicality. Wagner may not be able to replicate such a dominant performance, but it should still terrify the Pistons. 

The team that beat Detroit in Game 1 is not the same team that scuffled through its hugely disappointing regular season. But none of the past matters now. Today, these Magic might just be the team people thought they could be.

I believe the next 3 games are the most important in 15 years. We absolutely need to win 2 of the next 3. They need to really focus and play their hearts out.

If I could say one thing to the team, it would be simple: don't play for foul calls.  Maybe just my perspective, but there were too many drives where we (Franz, Paulo, and Bane stood out to me) would throw the ball up while flailing with our arms (had me thinking Turkoglu was back out there!) hoping to get a foul call.  We're not going to get those calls.  Do like WCJ and Goga, and just slam that sucker home with authority and skip trying to foul-bait.

The FT disparity should show the team that we're not going to get the whistle, and we should play accordingly.

I would not call it "playing for foul calls". Instead, I call it being aggressive. I have seen players on other teams do the same thing. If it produces a foul on someone on the other team, so be it. If it gets you some extra points, fine. If it's not broke, don't fix it. /just sayin

Edit: LeBron James has done that all of his career, bullying his way to the basket and gets a foul called against a player on the other team.

If we're not finishing at the rim scoring points, and they're not calling fouls, then we're just throwing away possessions. 

To me, there's a difference between attacking the basket with intent to score (which I approve of and wish we'd do it more often) versus attacking the basket with intent to draw a foul (which I don't approve of because we rarely get the whistle like that).  In the latter, once the fouls aren't called, our players are slow to get back on defense, since they want to complain to the ref.

Drive to score, not to draw a foul.  If we get the whistle, we get the whistle (and then *make the damn FTs!*).

I’m not celebrating anything, my comment was directed at the media who wanted to bury us as the worst basketball team ever after the Celtics and Sixers disasters. We need to keep the foot on the gas, that’s a given. But the more I look into yesterday’s stats, this wasn’t a fluke. 29% from 3, shot HALF as many free throws, Bane and Franz were bad most of the game. And we never trailed, on the road, against a 60 win team.

That wasn’t a random 8 seed does something unsustainable surprise, that was a team that can win this series. So I’m not counting chickens yet, but I’m confident. Detroit’s 3rd best player is TobiASS HarASS. I ain’t scared of that lol
