Luke_FfS Posted June 20 Report Posted June 20 About coach being really intense, demanding and a true worker and lover of the game: that obviously seem to bode well with the young group we have, and with the issues we had last season (lack of effort and intensity) but those characteristics could actually bode well with any team in the league. Should produce good results immediately, but then there's always the risk that, long term, too demanding and too much intensity could lead to star players disconnecting from him. The good news is that Sweeney seem to have left a good feeling with the top players he worked with, no matter how much intense he was. On the other side, it's possibly easier to create those relationship as an assistant, then having to manage the whole group as a head coach. Getting back to being a top defensive team, with an average offense at least should be our target. Only time will tell, first indications are good, let's see if he's up to the task both short and long term. Quote

Gillespie spent three straight seasons on two-way contracts after going undrafted out of Villanova in 2022 and now earns a lucrative long-term deal. Good deal for both parties. Goodwin is projected to get $5-$6 million. He should be one of our target if Phoenix lets him walk. Quote

I’m ok with it though, let’s run it back with the starters, improve the bench and see if we finally get injury luck next year. Quote
