Shine88 Posted June 3 Report Posted June 3 Mario Hezonja just won MVP in Liga ACB, the strongest domestic league in the world after the NBA. I remember being kind of hyped when we drafted him. I think he struggled with finding himself as a role player in the NBA. He was pegged as a generational talent overseas before he came to the states. It's unfortunately for us, he just didn't live up to expectations. Quote

CTMagicUK Posted June 3 Report Posted June 3 If we stay above the tax and only use the TPMLE it's 2 years at about 6 mil per year. Wonder who we could add for that. There's a lot of bench guards/wings hitting the market this summer I imagine some of them have to take the TPMLE or lower. Guys like Simons, Sexton, Huerter, Coby White, Thybulle, Grimes, Hyland, Jordan Goodwin, Luke Kennard, Keon Ellis, Khris Middleton, Simone Fonteccio etc. Some of those guys will get paid with bird rights or whatever but surely there's not enough money for all those guys to get paid and some will take the TPMLE or even the minimum I imagine. Pat Spencer would be a good option, but he's a RFA. Which is tricky, being that Golden State would have 3 days to match. So, there's a chance you could miss out on guys like Huerter and Thybulle. Personally feel like anyone who gives Luke Kennard, a 35 year old Khris Middleton or Bones Hyland anywhere near the full MLE is making a mistake. Even Colin Sexton. 8 years in the league, lots of points scored, 0 playoff games. Dude needs to prove he can actually win, wouldn't surprise me if he took a better role on a good team for less money. But I can see Middleton taking a discount to play for a contender. Quote

We are squeezed to the max. Last year was the year we could have paid or traded for a Kennard or a N.A.W. We chose to trade for a max guard, who we love but costs too much. We are in a rock and a hard place. it's either run it back or make a major move. I think that's why we are in alot of trade rumors. We can't do much otherwise, except waive a few non factors. Letting go of Mo,Isaac and Goga leaves us under the apron, enabling us to get minimum contracts. That's it, or a big trade. Quote

And just to be clear you're saying: Sexton with the TPMLE (6 mil a year for max 2 years) Goga for Aaron Wiggins trade TDS for Yves Missi trade Is that right? Because the salaries don't work on that Goga for Wiggins trade. And id be surprised if the Pels would do a TDS for Missi trade. Quote
