I wonder why though. Why is this team not giving effort on defense? 

I don’t have an answer.. All unknowns is that coach is finding excuses in the media right now. He doesn’t through players under the bus, which is great. He identifies Turnovers and Missed Free Throws as main part of recent struggles. 

Absolutely fckn NOT! We are giving up 121 PPG and we played some bad teams. 
 

So Turnovers and Missed FT are part of the problem but not our main issue. 

 

Im gonna call spade a spade here. Players like Paolo just don’t give effort on D. Him and WCJ are just a horrific frontcourt duo when they both play with poor effort. You go down the line and Franz has given effort but his defense is lacking. Suggs is active out there but fouls a lot and Bane is a non factor, gets blown by a lot.

Neither Bane or Tyus have lived up to billing so far. Tyus can go at the deadline his defense is awful.

Noah Penda did not look ready for the rotation.

How much of this is coaching though? Put me in the Mose got to go camp until I see something that looks like the contender we've been promised. 

I've honestly ran out of *****s to give to be honest. 13 years of mostly garbage basketball, this was supposed to be our time after all that crap and its looking like a false dawn. Fire everyone. I don't care. See y'all when the vibes are better.

At Charlotte tonight, Washington Saturday and Atlanta without Trae Young on Tuesday to finish up this road trip. If we lose out, Mosely is probably fired before we start the in season tournament back home next Friday. Honestly, we need at least 2-1 if not 3-0 over the next 3 of this trip for him to be safe imo. We don’t have our pick and it’s too early to make a trade, so coaching and culture change is the only thing to get in front of a freefall right now.

If you dive into advanced stats, the starters have actually been pretty good. +13.2 in net rating and our most played lineup. If you make one small swap of Suggs to AB our net rating tanks to -28.8 and it’s our 2nd most played lineup. The starters with Tyus Jones in place of Suggs has a net rating of -54.4… lol

Our best lineup that has played enough minutes to count from a net rating perspective is Carter, Bane, Paolo, Black, Da Silva with a +24.8 net rating.

Biggest takeaways from this to me are our starters are probably fine, AB isn’t a point guard and shouldn’t ever be used as one, Tyus Jones sucks, and Jalen Suggs needs his minutes restriction lifted.

We need to get rid of Isaac and Jones contract because its wasted salary and neither resemble nba talent. Bane was a mistake and although skilled he lacks basketball IQ.

Honestly I have thought about what it would be like to trade Paolo and build around Franz, Bane, Suggs, and TDS and get more 3 and D people around that core 4. 

Paolo may be talented but plays hero ball too much and has lost us multiple games over the last 2 seasons forcing shots.

Franz forces drives a lot too but he is more of a team basketball player rn than Paolo. 

Moe coming back will be good for us whenever that is.

Steve Nash

Taylor Jenkins

Mike Malone 

Jeff Van Gundy

Tom Thibodeau

 

I don't care if we finish the road trip with a winning record, I want Mosely fired now. I wanted him fired before the playoffs last year too. Honestly think we could have won 2 games against the celtics if we fired him like the Nuggets and Grizzlies did.

I gave  the grace to see if an elite shooter like Bane would fix the issues of our system and see if KCP was really that bad and now I see our system will make any good 3 point shooter regress significantly.

Clean house with our coaching staff and see what this talented roster can do with more of an Alpha coach.

If we had Ime Udoka or Joe Mazzula, we would have been a 50+ win team the past 2 years and this year because the injuries most likely wouldnt have happened if they were prepared better by a coaching staff and even with the injured roster we would have won more games.

I dont care how nice of a person Mosley is, he isnt being paid to be a cool guy, he's paid to win and he aint doing much of it.
