I don’t put it all on Paolo though. The thing that’s concerning to me is us not looking like a contender or really seeing how they can become one with their playing style. I think we are still a Play Off Team this year like we have been the last two years. But this was supposed to be the year we take that next step. I am watching Mosley very closely this season. It’s make or break for him in my opinion. I feel like we have the talent. It’s very early hopefully they can turn it around….. I’ve been on the Mose has to go train for a good while. He can’t run a real offense, and has resorted to a run and gun type this year, which can work if you have lots of shooters and you actually can defend. Neither seems based in reality with this team. Paolo may not be at fault completely, but he is the leader and his example on the floor is followed by our young players. Right now that example sucks! Quote
hootie249 Posted October 29, 2025 Report Posted October 29, 2025 Ok so Paolo in his first few years always had a hot stretch where he hit shots, it wasn't just free throws. However the advanced numbers are stacking up against him. His streaks were not enough and the mean might really be him. What we really have is his performance as an Alpha in the playoffs to lean on. It's really all about him. Does he have to mentality to be better and except what he is good at and what he can't do. Quote

That point was a good one last season and I was making the same observations but... in the offseason, we talked a lot about the value of adding an offensive coach and a skill one. So, is still all Mose fault, or there's something more? New offensive coaches, same result, the other variable are the core players. It's something we need to honestly evaluate even if it hurts. We will only go as far as our two best players can take us. I like Paolo a lot but I have been interested in Giannis if Paolo doesn’t take the next step. Quote

Our defense has been bad also. Our offensive numbers are better this year. If we could just keep defending and shoot a little better we would be winning. Quote

Right now, the repetition of the same issues plus losing our strenghts in the process is worrysome at least. But... as I wrote in the prediction thread, I look forward to mid april more than regular season, so I hope this is just an adjustment period. I've to, as the other options are really depressing.
