4. Jase Richardson, G, Orlando Magic

Jase Richardson’s combination of high feel and knockdown shooting made him a lottery-worthy prospect, but size concerns pushed him down to No. 25 on draft night. That’s okay, because the Michigan State product found a perfect landing spot with the Orlando Magic. The Magic were the worst three-point shooting team in the league last year, and that’s going to get Richardson on the floor early. He shot 62 percent from three in his first three preseason games, showing keen relocation instincts and a quick and true release. Richardson’s shooting will play from day one, and the Magic are perfectly suited to cover up any defensive issues from his lack of size. I also loved Orlando’s second round pick Noah Penda, who has also looked impressive this preseason. I am a big believer in the Magic this year, and that’s partially because I think both rookies can contribute immediately.

I can see Jase unseating Tyus for the backup job at some point this season. I'm not that high on Jones. I mean, I like the spacing he provides, but I don't see the fit. Our offense is a similar model to the one he just left in Phoenix, where he ended up being a bad fit. The offense revolved around Book and KD, and he just couldn't find his place, which cause him to eventually lose his spot in the rotation to Colin Gillespie.

I could see the same thing happening in Orlando.

After a long summer, it's finally time to switch to the Regular Season topic and mode!

+1.  Lot of excitement, which is great but also creates expectations.  Let’s hope they live up to them!  It’s finally time to be optimistic again.

7. New Orleans Pelicans: Jase Richardson

Original Pick: Jeremiah Fears

Jase Richardson's Original Draft Position: No. 25

Jeremiah Fears has not shot the ball well this preseason (32.0 percent overall, 12.5 percent from three), a disappointing sign for a player who also struggled at Oklahoma with his efficiency.

If the Pelicans feel Jordan Poole can handle point guard duties until Dejounte Murray returns from a torn Achilles, we could see a change at No. 7 here.

Jase Richardson falling to No. 25 seemed like a mistake at the time and is only looking worse the more we see him in action.

Richardson is averaging 11.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in his 21.0 minutes this preseason while nailing 70.0 percent of his three-pointers (7-of-10). Height concerns likely caused him to fall in the draft, but he will end up looking like a top-10 pick

No need to even think about his spot. We got him because of lack of proven point guards on this roster since Dwight left. It's been a major thorn on this team for over a decade. Now we have so much depth if people miss time he is right here, on the team. Instead of wishing we had someone, we already have him. Instead of praying we make a deadline move, the reinforcements are already on the roster.

TL;DR He is depth. If he gets a ton of minutes it probably means people are hurt. If we are still winning with him on the floor, mission accomplished. I don't think he has to be an awesome fit, just hold the line.
